Feeling charged and pumped up from her recent streak of victories in quests, Verusha strolled about the still fog laden village with a more bigger grin than the usual. She even hummed a light tune to herself, since she was keeping her headphones off for the time being. Didn't want to miss out on overhearing any useful chatter, or request for help.
Cannon remained vigilant as ever on his scouting and scanning of surroundings, making sure no unsavory characters were lurking or stalking his reaper.
Apparently, the villagers were starting to warm up a little to the visitors of their humble, if not fog-cursed, town. It was surprising for Verusha when one fellow actually approached her for assistance on a quest. Obliging, the ghoul listened to his request, a brow crooking as the very intricate and detailed explanation was given. Man... this guy should just write it all down or something.
Agreeing to help him, she turned on her heels to head off in search of that very particular mistentoe. Hopefully this wouldn't be too much of a pain to find... but hey, who cared? She was in high spirits, and had the time to kill.

After looking around and doing a few quests for the villagers, he saw a fellow student and jogged up to join her, giving a smile and a wave to catch her attention.
"Hallo!" Stopping to a halt beside her, he just finished talking to the villager that wanted a very specific set of mistletoe thank you very much and figured that two people would be better at finding it than one.
"Oi'm Marosa, second year. Oi haven't seen ye before, are ye a new student?" Or perhaps he'd horribly misjudged and she was actually a villager? Her clothing said otherwise, however, so she probably wasn't... but the faerie would apologize profusely if he did manage to offend her somehow.
He'd been offending a lot of creeple lately, when he didn't mean it.

Just about to start heading off into a zone, mentally trying to picture the item the picky villager had requested, she stopped when Cannon reacted to someone approaching them. The hound growled low, and snapped his head around to aim his fiercesome glare at the other student, assuming his protective stance before Verusha and the stranger.
But the ghoul looked the boil over once, while causally turning around to face him, greeting with her normal easygoing grin. "Sup." she replied with, not even phased as Cannon's flames raised higher along his back, and teeth bore in a threatening snarl to the new company. "Verusha." her head tilted in gesture to the protective fire hound, "This is Cannon. We've been around quite some time." she smirked, and gave a careless shrug, "but still a first year." with good reason. What with all her slacking, and disinterest in most school work.
"Getting that mist-...thing, for the guy back there?" she inquired, head tipping back briefly, in another gesture, to the town behind them.

His smile widened at her greeting, and he glanced down to the dog, deciding to kneel and extend his hand for the hound to sniff if he so wished.
"H'lo Cannon. Oi'm glad tae meet you."
"Aye. It's always good to see a familiar face." He paused, then laughed. "Well. Not familiar in that Oi know you, but familiar in the way that you're from the same school. That is reassuring." He blinked at her last question, giving a nod.
"Aye. Oi figured it would be easier with two, instead of one. Less chance of messing up that way?" Well, there was a huge chance for messing up, but Marosa wasn't going to put his doubts out there for the whole world to see. He wanted to stay positive.

When the boil offered his hand, the snarl only increased, lips peeling back further to reveal even more rows of razor sharp canines. The flames even elevated in height, just one wrong move away from snapping at the stranger. And Verusha didn't do a thing to try and calm the expressed protection from her familiar... not yet, at least.
"Sounds like a good plan to me." she concurred, stretching her arms up over her head, before spinning back on her heels to face where she'd been headed beforehand, "I was going to check out this area first." she gestured with how she'd faced, which was aimed at zone 4. "Gotta start somewhere, right?" with a tilt of her head to coax the boil to follow, the reaper started leading their trio on their merry way.
"Done a lot to help out around this place then?" she inquired to her new company, glancing from the corner of her eyes at him. As they meandered into the new area though.... her eye caught sight of something that looked strikingly like what they were after.
Pausing, she blinked a few times. "Is.... that it..?" she asked, approaching the object of interest, before crouching down to get a closer look. "Yep... pretty sure this is it."

Reaching up to pat the dog gently on the top of his head, Marosa tilted his head and followed the reaper. She was a cute boil, but Marosa found himself wishing that the dog liked him a bit more - he definitely loved animals of most all kinds.
Marosa blinked curiously at her. Well, that was strangely easy.
"Aye. And aye, looks like." There was only enough for her, and he glanced around until he spotted one that looked just like it, reaching down to take a few leaves and nibble on them experimentally. "Aye, tastes like-" The poor faerie didn't have a chance to finish his sentence before he started floating up, dropping the leaves and flailing his arms in an attempt to latch onto something nearby.

Cannon snapped at the foreign hand reaching to him, in warning, but as it touched him he felt... a strange sensation. Confused by it, he backed up some, and took to Verusha's other side, now wearily watching the boil from the corner of his eye.
The ghoul took notice, and chuckled lightly at the odd reaction her familiar expressed. Harvesting the plant, she tucked it into one of her tiny pockets, and grinned to her hunting partner, "Looks like luck was on my side for this one." unfortunately it hadn't been as kind in recent quests...
But as Marosa ventured to a similar looking plant, Verusha's eyes widened slightly as he actually sampled it! Lips parted to say something, it seemed it was too late... As he started to... float?, the reaper jumped into action, instantly reaching to grab his leg, and carefully pull him down, "whoa there, buddy. Weren't you ever taught not to eat things you don't know?" she mused.
Bringing him back down to the earth, she hugged him to one of her sides, and glanced at Cannon who was surprisingly showing mild concern for the boil himself, grinning lightly, "Looks like we gotta guide you around then, huh? where to next, then?"

Letting out a long breath of relief, the boil actually laughed, thankful that he'd been pulled down before he drifted too high for anything.
"Aye, but wouldn't that make for a boring life?" Winking at her, he started to return to normalcy when they walked past to another area, spotting another misentoe that looked almost exactly like the one she had... and, true to his word, he tasted that one as well, and nothing happened.
Marosa gave a shrug to her, pulling his red hair back as he spoke in a lilted voice.
"No such luck found here, The plant is not the right one, try again over there?"
The gancanagh puffed out his cheeks and blew out a breath, scratching his head. Well, this was a fair bit better than floating, but he still wasn't fond of this speech style.
"Perhaps eating it, wasn't the best of choices, but I must, he asked."
He gave a shrug, indicating that it was the villager who'd stated that they had to taste them to make sure, and Marosa had a sinking feeling that this was a slight prank pulled on them both to either find the right one, or play a prank on them.
It was most likely a mixture of the two.

Well... that was interesting. She did snicker a little at the new reaction that the boil was experiencing from the newly sampled plant, but helped him along to the zone nearby, "Let's hope my luck rubs off on you. I'm not sure being a taste tester for these things is the best for your health."

Walking to the next area, the gancanagh eyed the plant warily, taking a step back.
"Noooooope. That one makes ye float." Well, it seemed like the haiku plant had worn off, and he wasn't about to nibble the floating plant again.

Ah, there was one that looked a tiny bit different, so by request of the villager, he bent down and tasted it. Marosa sighed as he closed an eye, then opened it as he stared wide eyed in front of him.
"Oi feel like oi could move mountains," He admitted, flexing his fingers and muscles. He didn't do any of that, however, not wanting to hurt anyone else - just in case he could.
What a strange plant.

She chuckled lightly at the boils enthusiasm from suddenly eating the recent plant. Well that one had a more favorable outcome. Much more preferred to the others, to be sure.
Looking down at Cannon, she gave the hound a few strokes to his head, "Say, think you can find out where this elusive plants hiding from us, bud?" the dog sniffed lightly at the one she possessed, before scenting the air, to try and guide the pair towards a more promising herb.
