He closed his eyes.
That's right, you're not looking so hot, Wilson. He hears the taunting smirk in Elliot's voice. Wilson almost opens his eyes again, but tenses slightly when slender arms wrap around his shoulders.
She whispers into his ears, and when he realizes how faithful this copied voice is to the original he almost wants to cry. Why don't you rest for a while?
Why don't you sleep forever?
He opened his eyes toward Shu.

He tapped a rhythm on his cup.
You can't go home.
Incessant whispers. Demons murmuring truth and reality into his ears.
What's left for you but a corpse and an empty, cursed house?

She was beautiful as ever, even when she looked flustered. White gloves tucked a strand of hair behind her ear while she nervously switched her gaze between him and the ground. "D-Don't scare me like that!" Small laughter buried beneath her words, but all Wilson could see how beautiful she was

Voices ringing in his head.
Wide, pleading eyes. Gloved hands grabbing fistfuls of his shirt. "You're not going to leave me?"
A second voice. Icy glares behind spectacles. Pain as imaginary hands pinch his shoulders. "After what I did for you? For both of you?"
You're not going to leave us, are you?
Voices ringing louder as he leans into Wilson's ear. You don't deserve to be happy.

Being with her was like a fresh air, it was like crawling out of the turbulent sea onto a lone rock. The rough edges pierced his skin and scratched his palms, but at last he could breathe. Just for a minute.
And when he looked up there were dark storm clouds. Thick, heavy raindrops stinging his face as the sky flickered between dark and light as lightning lit up the clouds. The ocean seemed to respond in kind, wave upon wave rising up to swallow Wilson whole again.
