The next monster Johan ran into was much larger than the Shadow Bird. It looked vaguely draconic. When it noticed Johan, stripes on its shadowy hide lit up alarmingly, and it charged at him.
Johan very much did not his face to be eaten by the creature, so he side-stepped the initial charge, scoring the creature with his blade. He hadn't expected the creature's tail to lash out at him, however.

It was back to patrolling the outer lands of Camelot. Checking to see if there was anything too close to the castle or for stragglers needing aid. It was all part of being a knight, so Damien took it in stride. And strode even farther once the sight of a winged beast was illuminated by the torch in hand.
There was already someone engaging in it that allowed the Brunette the free chance to stake the torch into the ground and provide cover with his glaive for the fighter. "I'll distract it, try and cause some damage!" he quickly yelled out, smacking the blunt end of the staff against the monster. The tail was equally as dangerous, whipping him across the gauntlet.

Before grasping the hilt of his weapon again with both hands, Danirate raised one of them in greeting as he said, "Let's show more of the enemy their defeat." And then the knight in training charged for his first attack, bringing his longsword down in a vertical slice at the foe.

A formation was quickly being made when the familiar figure of the Swordsman of last time made his appearance. Damien Bumped his arm into that of the reinforcement. "Have at ye, show it the meaning of pain!" he agreed, turning the Glaive blade to its honed edge and taking a swipe at the beasts scaly hide.

Danirate smirked as he commented, "It could be this type of shadow's face is far more lethal than his tail given their behavior. But battling either matters little to me." The knight in training missed as he delivered another strike, but was far from discouraged, not at the slightest fazed and confident in continuing to fight.

Damien would give the man that. "verily, thine enemy's face is much more than its rear, however, it is not to be forgotten about, lest we pay the price for our negligence." he continued to try and swipe at the tail, hacking piece by piece of in small slivers, getting hit bit the same appendage for all his troubles. "If only we could take it back and if it was edible."
He was sure they would feast, and probably to the point of getting ill.

Johan was grateful to see back-up arrive. He raised his katana in salute to both of them as they quickly set about hacking at the creature. Johan himself ran to an unoccupied area to further distract the beast. While it didn't hit as hard at the infernal bird, it was much more resilient.
Johan sliced and jabbed at its hide, doing a decent amount of damage. The beast was well and truly in a rage, its markings lighting up the surrounding area.

On his next attack, Johan missed the first swing, having been knocked off balance by the monster as it swung around, trying to attack each of them separately. He used the momentum of the creature's blow to swing the katana around and back into the beast.
