There was one huge problem with the banquet room. Food was scarce.
It was less a banquet and more a weird unspoken funeral, and at the large, rectangular, and rather impressive table there sat all seven of the great knights. Oddly enough, the Great King was absent.
The food arrived, in due time, more a means to an end than true substance. Starches, for the most part, and the occasional grain. Plates, tapas style, decorated with almost unedible garnish. A lack of land meant a lack in actual food, though for some reason, there was still a sizable abundance of alcohol.

- If you are unfamiliar with the middle ages a quick wikipedia search is fine! As this is an AU, as long as there aren't like, laser beams and robot unicorns, historical lenience is okay. This is much more fantasy medieval than regular anyway, surely people understand what that is about!
- Right now, PRP Sanctuary and Battle Arena are closed. You may interact in the three orps for as long as you'd like until they open (ETA May 5th - 6th)
- Have fun! You may interact with the setting as you wish. A GM prompt may occur later on, you are always free to quote it and interact with the GM and/or interact with other people in the room, this is an rp to introduce knights to each other after all!
- Additional prompts:As this is a dining table with the Great Knights, they MAY occasionally interact with other characters though they seem to be talking quietly amongst themselves. It is good to be on one's best behaviour then, just in case they get sent away before the fun even begins. Feel free to be creative with the food there sure are a lot of choices. Keep in mind food is scarce, in fact, if you aren't quick enough, someone else might take the food first. Maybe it is time to put some bartering skills to the test....

[ Entering - Chel ]
If there was one place Chel belonged it was with a bunch of food and alcohol. She noted the great knights, but for now she completely ignored them. Bigwigs were not her game.
She sat on the opposite side of the room as them, kicked her feet up on the table and picked at her teeth until the food arrived. When it did, she took a simple hunk of bread and gnawed at it. The alcohol hadn't been touched yet, but it would be. It would be. She was hardly the type for rules and honor, and quite the sight considering she was lounging arrogantly and yawning.
Hopefully this whole "free food" thing would keep up. It seemed a little peckish in here, but it was still way more than she was used to getting. Now if she could just avoid the actual fight, maybe steal a few purses? She'd be golden.

[Lawrence - Banquet Room]
Lawrence wandered into the banquet room with a decidedly scavenging air, looking over the sparse tables with the darting, erratic gaze of a natural born scavenger. He took stock of what was available - not much - and made his way to one of the less populated tables where he retrieved a plate and sat down, pouring himself a glass to drink along with his meal.
Its mediocrity didn't even register to him, every scale of taste, emotion and response was nothing but grey.

She was bright as could be, the white linens of her armour impeccable, the flowers that adorned the circlet in her hair almost glowing in their bloom. Her hair itself was the colour of sunlight spun into silken strands and though she'd attempted to braid it out of the way, bits and pieces had escaped, curling around the soft edged of her face.
The food, in comparison, was pitiful to look at, laughable in all its greyness, one plate unintelligible from the next, all of it blending into various piles of bland colourless mush.
That didn't stop her from filling her plate, however, and grabbing a sloshing full pint of mead with which to wash the mush down. The food, however unappetizing, would give her the strength she needed for battle and the alcohol... Well, the alcohol would stoke the fires of her heart and soul and she couldn't help but take a sip as she walked, the liquid warming her instantly as it slid down her throat.

Ian was already in the room, already loading up his plate with as much food as he could without looking like a complete heathen, and was in the process of gnawing on a rather dry chicken leg when the pale haired woman walked in. At first, Ian's attention was focused entirely on the admittedly less-than-stellar food, but the mead at least would keep him bolstered for whatever came next.
His eyes dragged sideways, caught on the spun gold hair, and Ian nearly choked on the alcohol, gaze widening. After a second, a slow and steady smile crept across his face, and he set down his plate and goblet, sidling across the room and falling easily into step beside the young woman.
"Good afternoon," Ian said cheerfully. "How are you doing, milady?"

[Noemi - Entering]
Noemi hadn't seen the tall galavant knight since she had stood by him at the pledging cermony, and thus made her way through the castle. She had never been a knight before, and the customs of castle life never really...applied to her.
She wasn't meant for fancy places like this.
Her turn around the corridors led her to the dining hall of sorts, where only a few gathered. Her stomach rumbled with days of nothing more then little pieces of jerky and old stale bread. She didn't know why, but that made her a little sad.
She headed to the table decorated with basic food, and lots of ale. And she skipped the Ale, as it didn't sound appeasing at all. Eventually the dainty auburn haired girl found herself in a table conspicuously close to a certain blonde woman, and by the looks of her, a lot more use to the knight life then she could ever be.
She nibbled on the piece of bread and sighed, wondering what it was that Noemi the little knight actually expected to do here.

She'd been searching for a place to sit, one that preferably wasn't held by too raucous of crusaders, and it took her a moment to realize the words were being spoken to her, that the dashing gentleman that strode beside her was in fact doing so purposely.
"Oh," she spoke in surprise, pausing in her step so that she could turn and get a better look at him. She realized with dismay that there was no way to hide the mountainous plate of food she held in her arms, but she smiled anyway, a slight blush to her cheeks, hoping he wouldn't judge her for having such a healthy appetite.
"Good afternoon, m'lord," she answered, with a polite nod of her head, her bangs falling over her eyes. She blew at them unceremoniously, then cracked a grin - she was awfully terrible at maintaining formality. "I was just looking for a place to sit and eat, would you care to join me?"

[ENTERING - Akubi]
Did someone say food? Akubi was all about the food. Something a collection of food always managed to draw the young man in and eventually to grab himself a bit of something to eat. Akubi wasn't going to pig out, at first. For now he was 'reasonable', getting a piece of bread, some cheese, and a good helping of ale.
Yes. This wasn't too bad.
There wasn't anyone bothering him to do work or to be active. He could just sit and stuff his face. OM. NOM. NOM.

He could have possibly spun several sonnets about the lady's beauty, or maybe a few entire books on the spectacular fascination of her entire being, but Ian refrained from all of these things, and instead just flashed her as winning a smile as he possibly could.

[Lawrence]
Lawr finished off dipping his bread in the meagre excuse for soup and set it aside, there was no satisfaction from eating this food and he was not exactly certain why. He lost interest rapidly and turned his attention to taking small sips of alcohol and instead listening in on what he could discern from those speaking around him. He still wasn't entirely certain what had happened to him. He knew his name was Lawrence, he was a knight, there were rules but..rules were not..they were not solid and impassable.
Other people moved in superfluous ways, eating and speaking at the same time, hand gestures, facial expressions which did not seem to make too much sense in any context he could lend them.
He rubbed his temples and was not sure why he did it.

There was a goblet in her hand, and it was empty. She'd picked it up the moment she walked in, because it was there to be used, and yet. The goblet stem hung between two fingers, with the cup pointed downward; she swung it idly, tapping her fingernail against the metal with a hasty, nervous twitch.
There were people in this room. She knew without looking, because she could hear their murmured voices, the swish of fabric and the clang of armor. The tapping against her goblet started to quicken in an incessant rhythm of discomfort, as she spared a look up just long enough to see them. It wasn't many, and they all seemed as lost and aimless as she was in that moment. It made sense. Well, it made as much sense as anything could, now.
She, like the rest, were sitting at a banquet table with strangers, blank slates with no clear goals. It felt dangerous. Restlessness bore sin, and idle hands were the tools of sinners. So she kept the goblet in hers, because as long as she held something, she felt a little less incomplete.

Alexei nearly gallivanted into the banquet hall, eyes scouring the table for ale and mead both. He found them, ignored the grey goop that hardly passed as food, grabbed a pint of mead in each hand, then proceeded to chug one down in a matter of seconds before finding a table and fellow apprentices.
Two girls, in the back. He smiled his great goofy smile at them as he approached, seating himself with grace and sipping from the other flagon of mead.
"Hello, fellow knights! How is the food?"

First order of business was to quench her thirst and get her bearings, then she'd head out to train.
Her entry into the banquet hall was far less exciting then the lad before her.
Claude's lidded gaze scanned the hall, noting the great Knights at the table first and then towards her fellow apprentice-knights. Once she was done surveying, she stepped up towards the table, glancing at a man who boomed and waved around a pint of mead in both hands. She resisted the urge to roll her eyes. Such fraternizing...how unbecoming.
She grabbed herself one pint, and took a seat some distance away, relishing in a small pleasure.

[Entering - Riyo]
There was something strangely tempting to the idea of a meal she didn't have to pay for. Well. Perhaps that wasn't the right wording. Truly it seemed they had all paid some kind of price, but at least it lacked monetary value... She supposed.
Riyo eyed the other knights suspiciously as she crept in, her nose immediately turning up. There were few places to be alone in a place that was more or less the only remaining sanctuary, so you just had to be awful to be left alone. That was her reasoning and she was sticking to it! Chest puffed up, she tried to look as menacing as possible as her form moved towards a chair.
Okay so. Maybe it was less about the free meal and more about the free booze which she now clung to. And perhaps, another ulterior motive was some pleasant candle light to comb through pages of a rather plain-looking book. Perhaps.

Food had not really been on the mind, really food was scarce and Titus was used to not eating often but still he found his way to the banquet hall none the less. His tired looking eyes scanned those present, lingering on the great knights before shifting to what little food was available. He made an expression of distaste, though it could have been from the poor choices he had in food or the present company. It was hard to say.
Stepping closer to one of the tables he reached for a piece of bread only for it to be snatched out from under him before he could close in on it. "Hey!" His voice barked out loud against the room and he stifled a growl before he moved to his second option. Ale. Somehow there was always plenty of booze to go around.
"I hate this s**t," He grumbled mostly to himself, taking a seat not far from Claude and staring down at his pint with a complete lack of enthusiasm. Piss water, that's what this was. He had heard many of the poorer families refer to it as liquid bread but he would have rather had the damn bread.
