Desert Resort is, obviously, a desert located in the Unova Region. It resides between Castelia City and Nimbasa City and is home to many Ground and Rock type Pokemon. It is also home to the Relic Castle. It's origins are unknown but it appears to somehow be linked to the ancient people who have been credited with creating the homes of Unown and other man made pokemon from ages past.

As they left the city, Zak eyed Meebus, his gaze narrowed a bit. Even thinking about trying to put the effort into drawling out his challenge without slipping into his accent sounded annoying. "Fine," he muttered, annoyed, his stare returning forward, "I'm going to go in, but I'll be sitting with my computer to get work done so that I can slack off after." There. That was enough talking for now. Meebus seemed to accept and acknowledge this, turning to look ahead as well. Frogadier looked between them, waiting for them to move far enough ahead for him to leap and catch up, his jump now much longer (though he apparently didn't consider just walking instead of hopping). Besides... it was interesting to take a moment and just stare listen.

Letting Zak submerge himself into his wrist watch, and whatever messages he was replying to, or work he was doing, Meebus kept his gaze on the surrounding area, surveying for any opponents or approaching land marks. They were wandering through the Desert Resort now, and though he was fairly certain Zak was aware of the climate change, he could tell his trainer had consciously stepped back to let his pokemon handle things. It seemed that the run in with the Imperium agent had annoyed him more than it first seemed-- though it wasn't too surprising. Being reminded that he was being watched, that he was someone's subordinate, was bound to irritate Zak, especially if their reminder to stay on task was actually somewhat valid.
Meebus cast their trainer a brief glance, then glanced back towards Frogadier, or... Stranny, was it? Yes, Stranny. He could probably use some training... So Meebus let him take the Sigilyph as it came drifting by, the frogadier sparing him a quick, confirmational glance, before quickly taking off, eyes flashing before his expression darkened, and he sent out a Dark Pulse.

Meebus watched as the Sigilyph fled, wounded from the harsh battle with Frogadier, who shook his head, blinking a few times and then looking curiously up at the electric-ghost. Meebus met his gaze, then shifted his attention to Zak, swooping down and around to face Zak, but continuing to drift backwards so that his trainer would not run into him. "Zak-hav, I believe we should stop for a bit to allow Stranny to train," he stated simply. Zak lifted his head, meeting that blank, honest stare with a narrowed gaze of his own. "V... Why?" he uttered flatly. "He has type advantages against nearly all the pokemon in this area," Meebus explained after a moment, turning slightly as a Darmanitan waddled curiously over, and Stranny leaped upon the battle opportunity. Zak shifted, turning to watch with a dull but observant gaze, a begrudging frown on his face.

Zak's frown grew and his expression darkened again. Meebus stared at him, then his translator began to fizzle. "Nyet," Zak cut him off, shifting his weight to the side and relaxing his expression, "You... are right. He needs to catch up." He didn't look particularly pleased, but it was clear he'd conceded to the point, and without another word, moved to take a seat, his back directed towards the sun to limit the glare as he pulled out his laptop again. Meebus gave a slow blink and observed, but then turned, whizzing over to join Frogadier as yet another pokemon showed up to be defeated. Aside from just one pokemon... this place really was perfect training grounds for the water pokemon.

Hm.... Almost perfect. Meebus had forgotten about Scraggy. He watched the pokemon sniff and tug up his trousers (or whatever they were) as he approached Stranny challenging. The frog tilted his head almost ninety degrees as he gazed at the challenger, but lowered himself, snapping his mouth open to unleash another Water Pulse. Meebus drifted to hover closer, watching carefully. He knew that this battle would likely be more difficult for the water pokemon, but if he needed, he could try and sweep in to help. It seemed, though, that Stranny did fine on his own-- he took a few hits, but after the first, that same dark change overcame him, and the water pulse hit with extra force, confusing the opponent enough that it hurt itself. Stranny's eyes narrowed, and he darted in, landing the final blow and leaping back, ready to strike again if the opponent stirred.

The next opponent posed virtually no challenge at all for Stranny, and the frog seemed to calm down to his normal self as the Darumaka fled. Meebus watched, glancing at the Scraggy still on the ground, though he couldn't help but notice the pokemon seemed to have moved at some point. And in a very 'away' direction. He looked over at Zak, rising slightly when he noticed their trainer watching them. He didn't look away when Meebus noticed, but observed a moment longer, then lowered his gaze. Meebus, however, shifted his attention past Zak, where a little mound of sand seemed to be... moving towards their trainer. Evidently it wasn't going unnoticed by Zak, who finished typing on his computer, set it on his bag, and then quickly stood, spun, and brought the heel of his foot down on the mobile lump. "Ow!" Zak's eyes narrowed and his mouth opened slightly in disbelief. Meebus watched passively, his eyes only slightly closed as he watched, while Stranny hopped curiously over.
All three watched as a boy emerged from the sand, rubbing his head with involuntary tears in his eyes and sand stuck to his skin. "V... What were you doing?" Zak muttered flatly, reaching down to grab the front of the kid's shirt, and pull him out of the sand. At least he was nice enough not to throw him back down, but he didn't put him on his feet with any particular care, either. "I-I wanted to battle you!" the boy declared defiantly, despite the pain, brushing the forming tears from his eyes as he looked up at Zak. The Russian raised an eyebrow, but folded his arms over his chest.
"Fine, I don't care," he stated bluntly, "But don't be insulted if I get bored and go back to work."

The kid puffed out his cheeks angrily, but gave a stubborn nod, backing up and pulling off his first pokeball. "Water against water! Come on out, Croconaw, and get ready to take a Bite out of the opponent!" he shouted, releasing his pokemon. Zak stared, unimpressed, his hands in his pockets once he'd healed Stranny back to full health. "... Water pokemon and no one's using water moves. Stranny, Dark Pulse," he instructed, the frogadier hopping forward to release the dark energy. He yelped when the opponent retaliated by biting in, eyes flashing again and the next attack blasting the croconaw back, knocking it out cold. "Well... he survived one hit. That's impressive," Zak sneered a bit to the kid. He was more annoyed to be interrupted and snuck up on, than trying to bully a child.

Clenching his teeth together, the kid returned his pokemon, then quickly sent out the next. Zakhav raised an eyebrow at the heatmor. That was a... questionable choice, really.... But whatever. "Stranny, you know what to do," he drawled, looking increasingly bored. His eyes narrowed as the pokemon's image shuddered upon impact, and a Zoroark appeared, shaking its head. Well... huh. Whatever, they would have used the same attack either way. He wasn't really sure what the kid's end game was there, but he straightened and waited the battle out, arms crossed over his chest. He hardly seemed fazed at all by the proceedings, yawning a bit to emphasize the lack of being impressed.

Zak raised an eyebrow as the young boy sent out a Vivillion next. Was he serious? By the stubborn look and those high-crossed arms, he was. Zak raised his eyebrows and shrugged, letting Stranny make the smart call of using Dark Pulse. It didn't land a flinch, but-- wait what? The Russian's stare became slitted as his pokemon was put to sleep. "V.... ell, that was the first smart move you made so far," he admitted, scowling a bit. His hands clinched into fists in his pockets as he watched Stranny get pelted by attacks, one even looked hard enough to knock him for a loop-- but the pokemon suddenly snapped awake and released a powerful blast of dark energy, finally knocking the opponent out. "... Good job, Stranny," Zak praised, subtly letting out the breath he may or may not have been holding. The frogadier looked pretty worn, but he had a type advantage over the next pokemon. Then again, so did... most of Zak's pokemon. He wasn't sure if Stranny even would be able to pull through and endure one more attack...

Confusion was honestly Stranny's only hope, and in the condition he was in, there was no use relying on that. Zak shifted his weight, stepping forward one step to get the pokemon's attention. "Cohme back," he ordered, straightening his shoulders and reigning his voice back in, "Totodile will finish the last one." Stranny growled and shifted in discontent, but, with one large leap, jumped back to stand behind Zak, glaring at the enemy. The kid swallowed, but kept a stubborn face as he released his final pokemon. He kept his little fists by his sides as Zak let totodile out to take the pokemon down. He was glad that he returned Stranny, given the enemy's impressive moveset, but it wasn't enough to change anything. He returned Totodile and moved to grab his things. "Nice try kid," he drawled again, stuffing his computer into his bag and gathering his things. It was definitely time for a trip to the pokecenter.
"Good luck next time," The kid kicked at the sand angrily, but Zak ignored him, striding on through the desert, making way for the Nimbasa skyline. He didn't bother returning Stranny-- the pokemon, despite the damage, looked like he desperately needed to burn off some of that... whatever rage-thing he had going on...

Zak grimaced against the head, but pulled a ball cap out of his bag and tugged it on, stepping down onto the desert and striding towards where he thought he'd seen a set of stairs. They didn't even get very far before a Darumaka leaped out of the sand, grinning, apparently thinking it had caught them off guard. It did-- but also didn't. They all stared at it, then Stranny took a deep breath, opened his mouth-- and shot it with a pulse of water. The pokemon yelped and rolled backwards, shaking its head a bit and staring in surprise. Not confused, bbut a little surprised, it scrambled up, charging at Stranny who blinked and gave a yelp of his own. Zak rolled his eyes at the two and continued walking, Meebus staying behind just long enough to be sure Stranny had it handled, and then drifting ahead to catch up with Zak.

Zak flinched away as Meebus came up, nearly hitting him with his enormous fridge body. "Zat form ees eencredibly enconvenient," Zak muttered, glowering at the large door and wide frame from the corner of his eye. "... Your accent, Zak-hav," Meebus noted, or perhaps reminded, and the Russian gritted his teeth and shifted his gaze away. Meebus looked at him a moment, then turned his gaze forward. "It is necessary for me to use the ice moves. However, if you would like me to revert back...""Nyet-- No," Zak muttered, dropping his voice, and his accent, as he corrected himself, "I need you to cover what we don't have. What pokemon are present here, do you know?" He raised an eyebrow, looking at Meebus, who remained quiet for a long moment.
"I believe I spotted a Sandile, Darumaka, Scraggy, Sigilyph, Darmanitan, and a few others," he reported, "Those Stranny battled, however, I believe there may also be Dwebble and Maractus present from my observations." He gave a side glance at Zak, who had narrowed his eyes, staring sharply back at him, as if trying to read his mind. All he could get, however, was the same wide-eyed, calm, opaque stare he always got from the rotom. "I see... I believe Scraggy is the only one that may prove a challenge... You have a flying form, correct?" His gaze flew back to Meebus, his mind calculating while Stranny, meanwhile, took down a Sandile on his way to catch up.

Evidently that didn't go well with Sandile's friends because Stranny soon found himself battling yet another, and while he handled that, Zak and Meebus continued on up ahead.
"I do," Meebus was answering, "However, you have not yet--" Zak cut him off, pulling out all the plugs he had and holding them up. "Here. One of these should be it," he offered bluntly. The electric pokemon blinked, but then leaned forward, Zak grimacing and leaning back to avoid getting hit by the enormous fridge body. Very quickly, though, the form shrunk, and replacing it was a fan-like form, Meebus lifting himself back up. Zak smirked; there was actually a breeze from the fan rotating rapidly now, and he tucked the items away to move forward. "That's actually a rather perfect form for you with this weather, Meebus... You can actually be useful," he remarked.
He frowned a bit, though, as he felt the annoyance at his speech creeping up again. It wasn't like there was anyone else present... and yet he knew he should practice to avoid slipping up. It was just... so very annoying...

Stranny finally caught up, panting and looking a bit tired under the heat. Zak raised an eyebrow, glancing down at him, still enjoying the slight breeze from Meebus' new form. "Here, Stranny," he offered, tossing the pokemon a few potions to heal himself with. The frogadier looked up, eyes widening as he scrambled to catch them, juggling them a bit before finally grabbing them. He was able to use a few to get himself back into condition, leaping to catch up with Zak and pop the empty potions into his trainer's bag. He bounded off, easily distracted by another Darumaka, while Zak finally slowed at the stairs, and started down. He stopped part way in, and turned, tossing up two of his pokeballs to release Sotnik and Deys.
"I want you two to lead the training. Battle wild pokemon, hunt down trainers-- make sure you don't get lost or anything," Zak stated flatly. Sotnik blinked a few times. He was so used to his trainer speaking in a different way.... this was weird. "Meebus' communication device is connected to my computer, so he can inform me if something goes wrong... Don't let anything go wrong." He pulled out his computer, and several other devices, and a few bottles of water, then tossed the bag to Deys, who caught it. Sotnik looked quizzically at it, then back to his trainer. "Use potions, keep everyone's health up," Zak continued, releasing Daeva and Totodile, "I'll be down here, and I'll have Boo with me. Try and keep the training even, but if Daeva wants to battle, she and Sotnik have first dibs for at least the first few battles."
Freshly released, Daeva grinned, giving a crackling grumble of approval at the instructions. Zak gave a nod for them to go, then turned, gathering what he'd kept out and moving further down into the shade.
