"Relic Castle" Connecting Land Routes: Desert Resort
An ancient castle that still stands today in the Desert Resort. What it's original purpose was, whether home to royalty or a testament to the culture that built it is yet to be known. What is known, is that this castle is one of the few places Darmanitan and Cofagrigus can be found. Deep inside the castle, on the uppermost floor, there appears to be an ancient throne room with a lithograph just as old of an unknown subject. Perhaps a Pokemon?

Finally. Cyrus was alone enough, and at Relic Castle. He let out a long, and exasperated shout in the sandy wind. Why the heck was Apollo sending such cheesy and inappropriate things to anyone in the first place?!? As he paced about frustratedly, he stumbled across a bag of lost stuff. Loot! He was briefly distracted from his frustration as he added the cache of items to his own bag. An Onix, however, attacked, and Cyrus didn't hesitated to send out Rita. Even though he was still angry at her for soaking him. "Rita. Water Pulse the heck out of that snake." he ordered her. The blastoise was surprised that her trainer finally gave her a command, and obeyed, blasting the Onix pretty hard. It never stood a chance.

Cyrus felt his communicator go off, checking to see that it was Apollo with an answer. "FFFFFF- WHAT?!? HOW IS THIS EVEN APOLLO?!?" Cyrus shouted after reading the message. He was fuming again, and unable to come up with a response. A Yamask tried to interrupt, but Cyrus ordered Rita to dispatch it with a dark pulse.

Cyrus continued to shout obscenities into the empty desert until he finally had it out of his system. Taking a breath, he responded to Apollo's text. It was 3 brief words, but it was all he could get out at the time. Even though it wasn't even a complete sentence, his disapproval would likely show. As Cyrus put away his communicator, a Krokorok appeared. It would be a useful pokemon to have around, especially since Zak is making him get more badges. It was pretty tough, too, since it took two water pulses from Rita to take it down. However, when he threw a ball at it, it failed. He grit his teeth and tried again. Fail. <******** STAY IN THE GODDAMN BALL!" he shouted as he threw the third ball. Maybe his shouting fixed it, since the ball clicked and he had a Krokorok now. He healed up Rita properly, much to her surprise, then grabbed the Krokorok's ball. "Welcome to the team, Papyrus." he grumbled, then decided to head on back to Desert Resort.

It was a bit of a long flight going from the islands back to one of the other regions but it soon they were touching down in the ruin remains of an ancient city. He wasn’t entirely certain on the lore and history of the place, nor whether it was really a safe destination. But he also didn’t really care. He slipped from Dova and hit the ground feet first with a heavy thud. He adjusted his belt and looked around a moment. It would certainly be a bit of a trek to get through this place but well… he’d manage. He always managed and this would be no different. Lafayette started his way through the ruins, deciding to scope the area first and see exactly what they were up against. The kind of things they were fighting would determine who got training; Cheri and Noah trailed close behind, the otter looking rather excited to be up and moving while the Espurr just took in the sights. As they rounded the corner of a ruined pillared structure, Lafayette came to a halt. Rummaging through the dirt and stones as a Krokorok who immediately took notice of the team when they appeared, falling into a defensive stance. Noah perked up and immediately stepped forward with the intention of accepting the challenge but Lafayette placed his hand in front of the Dewott to stop him.
"Nah mate. Let Eve handle this one." He remarked and just like that unleashed the Ivysaur. She blinked and let out a yawn; it’d clearly been some time since the others had been out. She glanced back at Lafayette curiously, giving a little ‘Ivy!’ of greeting but pausing when she noticed something seemed off. The Aussie frowned and pointed at the Krokorok to redirect her attention to it. She kept staring at him but eventually averted her gaze to the challenger, swiftly putting it down with a slap of her vines.

Lafayette watched as the Krokorok fled the scene, an unamused look on his face. Well that certainly wasn’t much a challenge, though there was a power and type advantage to account for. Which was probably what made it good to train here; that make things go by much quicker.
He continued forward, allowing Eve to stay out and ignoring her curious gaze of him. He could tell she well… noticed the change but he was still trying hard to keep from really addressing the scenario, instead focusing on the training. It wasn’t long before he noticed something moving on the side of a building and a large moth like creature emerged to confront them. Lafayette could feel waves of heat emitting from the creature; was it a fire type? Obviously not something Eve could take if that was the case; though before he could truly decide who to send out Noah jumped into battle to confront it.

Lafayette let out a growl, quickly kneeling and pulling out a couple of potions to help Noah and Cheri out. The Dewott had gone and rushed in there and nearly gotten himself knocked out. It was probably good fortune that Cheri opted to step in at the last moment and finish off the annoying moth thing after it gone and confused the pokemon. Soon, both were topped off once more, though Noah’s pride looked a bit wounded from the failure to successfully defeat the wild pokemon.

He murmured, looking up as he saw Eve take down a Sandslash that had appeared. Noah huffed and folded his arms over his chest, clearly not happy with that. Still, it was what needed to be done.

Eve wandered over to get checked in and Lafayette gave her a little healing just in case. He released his other pokemon at this point as well, standing before them and ignoring some of the more concerned and inquisitive stares he was receiving. "Yeh all need ta’ get trainin’. So go on an’ find some pokies to beat on and don’ get knocked out." He remarked, starting to move along to explore a little more once his team was aware of their priorities. He didn’t need to baby sit them; though he did make sure Noah stuck close. Before he went much further, Cheri stopped Lafayette. She gestured towards his bag and the Aussie just tilted his head in confusion. What? She wanted to do something… with the items he had. He frowned, giving a narrowed stare at her before finally rolling a shoulder. "Yeh, yeh… do wha’ you wan’ sheila." He murmured, focusing back on exploring the ruins. Cheri stared after him before moving over to the bag and digging around inside, earning a squeak of disapproval from the Dewott who was supposed to be carting it around.
She pulled out one of the two odd mushrooms that Lafayette had earned back at the fair. Noah stared at the odd-looking fungi; he’d forgotten they were even in there. Cheri seemed to remember though and eyed it thoughtfully. Noah watched her contemplate a moment, wondering exactly what was going through her mind before jumping when she shoved the entire thing into her mouth. Woah! Didn’t she need some permission for that?! He just stared in shock at her for her actions. Cheri was… crazy.

Cheri chewed the mushroom thoughtfully, much to Noah’s dismay before finally swallowing. He noticed a moment as she seemed to consider a moment before looking at the Dewott with her blank expression. If he had hairs on the back of his neck, Noah was certain they’d be standing on end right now with how creepy Cheri was being now.
Eventually though, she seemed to grow tired of his staring situation and moved along to follow Lafayette. The man was still rummaging around the ruins of the city, taking in the sights, and looking for well… nothing it seemed, instead swapping between healing his pokemon as was needed and exploring. He seemed kind of lost in his own thoughts for the time being, which was troublesome but not really something she was too concerned about. No, she had her sights on something else…

The communicator on her trainer’s arm in particular. She was feeling inclined to send more messages while they lingered in these ruins. As Lafayette came to a pause to check out the doorframe of a fallen structure, the Espurr made use of her psychic abilities to casually slip the device from the man’s wrist. She knew well and good that he wouldn’t notice immediately, if only because he was still seeming to get use to the lack of his other. Plus, she was very subtle about the process. Carefully she let it drop to the ground and scooped it up, waiting a moment for Lafayette to move on before beginning her interactions.
All the messages from the previous communicator had unfortunately been lost and she couldn’t quite recall which number saved in the list was linked to which conversation. But that was fine; if it was worth resuming than the individuals would guide it to such. Plus well, she was certain she’d seek some new contacts to interact with as well, just in case the others had disappeared off the face of the planet for whatever reason.

Cheri toddled back to where Noah was residing, earning a disapproving look from the Dewott at the sight of her with the device. He knew very well that she shouldn’t have that and had half a mind to alert Lafayette to the fact but he winced as he felt a little psychic shove that seemed to suggest that if he opened his mouth there would be trouble. Once it was made aware that the Dewott needed to be quiet she returned her focus to the task at hand. First things first… she wanted to make new contacts. What would be a good message to start with? What a bother. Cheri glanced up as a shadow shaded her sitting area, Micah hovering above and looking down at her expectantly. He’d been doing a bit of fighting and needed a bit of healing and apparently, since she and Noah were the holders of the bag, was expecting a bit of healing. She set the communicator down and stood to her feet, digging out a few potions and healing up the pokemon. The Arcanine gave a gruff of appreciation before turning and treading off to scope the ruins for more pokemon to battle. Cheri watched a moment before resuming her focus on the communicator, this time sending off another message to someone else.

Do you like rocks? There are a lot around here. Forgive me if I can’t remember our last conversation. Sharks ate my trainer. Do you think rocks can be candy?

Cheri felt the communicator vibrate in her paws, looking down at it curiously once she had sent off yet another random message into the vast space of interconnected devices. It appeared that the ‘Ajicka’ person had responded and she eyed the message a moment. There was disappointing lack of an answer to her rocks question and the Espurr stared a moment before proceeding to type out another message.

Yes, he was eaten. No, I am not. The others are here. They’re training and exploring rocks. You didn’t answer my question. I wish Noah hadn’t survived; he’s going to tattle on me for this. Maybe I should hit him with a rock? I just learned how to summon big rocks. I think he deserves it.
Cheri sent that message off and looked around, trying to locate Lafayette and the others. Ori was lingering close by, looking none too keen to be competing with ground types given his own typing, though Micah had taken down yet another ghost type that had appeared. She noticed they were carrying masks which seemed rather odd.
