As one enters the garden of yore, one will notice that the atmosphere has completely changed-- the entrance is lined with pumpkins both on wooden poles and sturdy string, and candles light the night in every direction, creating the mood of a very spooky soiree indeed.
--[ FEAST ]-- The food laid out is half Lab contribution, half group effort; everyone was encouraged to bring their own pot luck entree to the function, if able!
To stay true to the spirit of the times, the dessert aisle is just as impressive as the savory aisle. An assortment of drinks are also available, including hot apple and pumpkin ciders and iced seasonal liquors.
--[ CRAFTS & FACE PAINT ]-- Near the food is a craft and face paint area, for any and all who want to participate. A few face paint artists have been hired for your own amusement.
--[ LOUNGE ]-- The garden is huge, which means there's a lot of lounge space! Feel free to talk with anyone on the patio, near the entrance, out on the garden-- just be sure not to get lost past the neck of the woods! Good thing clear paths are lined with jack-o-lanterns.
--[ HEDGE MAZE ]-- While this location is off-limits to anyone but a brave few contestants, a mysterious fog rolls through its leaves and beckons you closer...

This is an art or writing contest. Art entries and writing entries will be judged separately, unless we get too few (at or less than two) entries in either category. You can choose any kind of medium you would like for art, however, it MUST be your Lab character(s) that is wearing the costume. More than one character can be present in an entry.
For the prompts, please try not to exceed 1000 words.

--[ LOCATION ]--
Just adjacent to the garden party area, there lays a queer looking hedge maze. The walls are neatly trimmed and quite tall, standing maybe at eight to nine feet, and an air of mystery surrounded the high arched entrances. Yes, there was not one, but five entrances into the hedge maze! Take your pick, and brave the challenges within...
Though Dr. Kyou is still in bedrest, a few neighborhood friendly warlocks have transformed the Hedge Maze aptly into a terrifying creation. A constant fog rolls in through the maze and overgrown bramble rustles with the breeze at every corner... and, from a distance, you can hear them: the zombies, moaning and grabbing at the bushes inside in a desperate attempt to scurry out.
Fortunately, like the rest of the maze, the zombies are fake, as will be the injuries you sustain, but it certainly won't feel like it in the moment! To aid you on your journey through this hellish maze, the warlocks will grant you with one weapon that will aid you throughout the duration of your adventure.
Now, tell us, what do you wish to choose?
--[ HOW IT WORKS ]--
The game will function similarly to the Hedge Mage game from 2012, HOWEVER, there are some changes and modifications, which are explained in the spoiler below!
Imagine it like the hedge maze from Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, with obstacles in it that you will need to clear in order to progress. (Yes this was inspired by the Harry Potter series) Some dangerous, some tricky, some interesting.
[1] You can enter the maze by yourself, or with one other person* only. For non-owners, you cannot enter the maze alone, but you may pair with an owner or non-owner. [2] Each group, either solo or coupled, will get their own threads to RP in. Your RP opponent will be the shop mule Anachrophobia who will be replying in form of RP prompts to give you challenges and reply to your reactions. [3] The shop mule will start the thread, but the participants will be the one starting the RP. [4]Generate a number between 1 to 30 in your first post, this will determine what you will encounter in the hedge maze. Whether a dead end, a junction or a challenge. It is best advised to assign one person to do this. The list of numbers and their corresponding encounter is listed below. [5] In order to reach the end of the maze and complete it, you will have to fulfill any one of the criterias below.
1. Survive 5 zombie encounters. 2. Survive 10 monster encounters. 3. Survive 2 zombie encounters and 3 monster encounters 4. Survive 1 zombie encounter and 9 monster encounters 5. Hit 20 dead ends. 6. Everyone in your party dies before any other team.
[6] As this is a time sensitive RP event, (sort of) please do not be pressured to write long elaborate RP posts. You need to progress through the maze and not linger. That also means, please do not expect long replies from the mule either. [7] In the same sense, please do not take too long to reply as well! Keep the ball rolling! [8] Even when a winner had been found when someone completed the maze, you will have to complete your's as well by fulfilling one of the criterias above, in order to get out of the maze and return to the garden party. However by this time, RPs will be time sensitive. RPs that had been idle for 1 week will be locked and considered inactive, and you will be unable to complete it. RP admins are human too and need to juggle multiple maze RPs AND other personal RPs. They can't be babysitting you through a RP that may last for months.
*Person refers to a roleplayer. Not a character. Which means one person can be roleplaying up to two characters at one time. (in the case of a Raevan + guardian combo) Meaning the maximum of characters in one group for the maze is 4 characters.

[9] In this iteration of the maze game, you will have 50 HP per party member. If you run out of HP, you'll be booted from the game!
Fortunately, you'll be able to fight back with your weapons, which will cause 1D20 damage to zombies and monsters alike. See what each encounter is like below!
Dead End: Nothing happens, but it sure does count toward one of the achievements! Monster Encounter: You've encountered a monster of various numbers, damage, and HP! We really hope for your sake that it's a something weak... There are four varieties of monsters that the mule will roll for during its turn. T-junction: Nothing happens, and you keep going. Zombies: The mule will roll a 1D4 to see how many zombies your party will each zombie encounter. All zombies will have 50HP and will deal 1D20 damage to you. Supplies encounter: You happen to find some supplies to help you along the way! Each person roll 1D20 to recover that much damage.

For the rewards of these ORP games, we are incredibly excited to bring back the years-long absent chimeras!! The winners of each section will be able to choose which type of chimera they will receive.
They will be asked for certing information through Rookeries at the end of the ORP.
For the duration of the ORP, the lab feedback form will be open to anyone who would like to throw in a few cents of their thoughts to the shop. We'll try to keep it in mind when we make decisions and changes to the shop in the future.

Callus Killmister loved Halloween. To him there was not a thing to dislike; horror stories around an open fire, streets illuminated with the soft orange glow of jack-o-lanterns, children and adults alike showing their appreciation for the creatures that went bump in the night and haunted their nightmares with their grotesque charm. No, there was not a thing he did not love about his time of year. His enthusiasm for the holiday meant that the otherwise reclusive thirty-two year old found himself attending a party, under the impression that his niece was soon to be joining him - after her shift at the bar she worked at finished.
After picking up a drink of warm cider from one of the tables at the feast, he made his way to the lounge to settle down and wait for his niece to arrive.
Callus never got anywhere in a hurry because of his limp, the cane he used to aid him made an echoing thud against the wooden patio as he moved to find a seat. Weaving in and out of the people who were talking in the area, some moved in their chairs to make his life easier, and he responded to them with a smile.
The tall, bulky man finally came to rest on the edge of the patio, resting his cane against the rail before lowing himself into a seat. He brought the warm drink to his lips, now finally cool enough to drink. Callus was not a big drinker, not like he used to be, but something warm to heat up his insides on this cold autumn night was appreciated.
He was dressed in a costume, but funnily enough it was not too different to his normal attire, with the exception of a black eye and some blood here and there. Despite being a make-up artist, he did not feel like going the whole-hog tonight, drawing attention to himself was never a good thing in his eyes. He was dressed as Daryl, a character from the Walking Dead, his favourite show at the current. One that him and Neria both watched intently with a hot chocolate and a bag of popcorn.
Pulling a cellphone from his pocket he text his niece, Neria, to see when she would be arriving.
'Already here, text me when your shift ends. Be safe.'
And with that he put his phone on the table and took another drink.

The darkened garden was even darker with his sunglasses on, but Ian couldn't just not use them; they completed the costume and otherwise he would just be any run-of-the-mill detective or agent. No, the sunglasses were vital. But perhaps if he kept them off, he could put them on to tell people who he was? That might work - Horatio Caine's opening gimmick was a dead giveaway.
So, he slipped the sunglasses into the neck of his shirt to simply hang there until he needed them. He made his way over to the potluck table and set down a large dish covered in foil. Peeling it away, he revealed chicken wings cloaked in a dark, rich barbecue sauce. But to make them even spookier, he'd taken Caroline's advice to stick pairs on skewers, and it worked: they looked exactly like bats. He had to smile to himself. It was subtle, but fit the Halloween theme perfectly. He'd have to tell Caroline if they went over well.
Looking around, he realized he didn't see anyone he knew. But he couldn't just stand there, he'd look stupid and awkward! He spotted a man sitting by himself in the lounge area; perhaps that would be okay. Joining another lone wolf was easier than working his way into a group, after all. He quickly grabbed a mug of hot apple cider and made his way over. Offering a small wave with slightly hunched shoulders, he smiled. "Hey. Uh, I don't think we've met. I'm Ian." He didn't see a Raevan around, so this guy probably wasn't an owner. But maybe his Raevan was still a bottle? It felt weird to just ask; maybe the conversation would just...naturally turn that way?
