Alcine - Candidate - 20 - F
Common Knowledge:
- Alcine is from High Reaches Hold, not the weyr itself.
- She's quiet and generally keeps to herself, but if you want to get her talking, start with dragon anatomy or lore. She's kind of obsessed, it's weird.
- She's kind of a limp noodle, and she lets people walk all over her. Most people tend to just give her space, though.
- At the age of 20, she's about to age out of candidacy! Hiraeth's clutch is her last chance to actually stand as a candidate, though she doesn't appear to be looking for alternative careers.
- Alcine squires for a bluerider in 3rd-2.

Uncommon Knowledge:
- Alcine was originally slated to be an apprentice healer, and she remembers most of the material from her early training. Of the few possessions candidates are allowed, almost all of hers are books on the subject, given to her by her father over the years in an attempt to lure her back to the craft.
- On that note, Alcine's father is a Harper from High Reaches, and her mother was a lesser courtier. Neither of them have ever visited or attended a Hatching, though she does receive letters and parcels from time to time.
- Only the older candidates would know for sure, but when Alcine entered candidacy 7 years ago, she had an extremely rough time with basic training, especially with infighting and bullying. Then one day in a sparring match, she turned on one of the older candidates and nearly choked him to death in cold blood. Some people say he deserved it because of the way he treated her, others say that there's a killer underneath that academist's facade. Either way, people keep their distance.
- Alcine's relationship with her squire-master has always been somewhat icy, and as the Turns have passed they've begun to show more outward enmity towards each other. Rumor has it that he tried to make her drop out of candidacy early so he could choose a more fitting squire.

Shylla - Rider of Gold Evmeth - 27 - F
Common Knowledge:
- Shylla is from High Reaches Weyr, born and raised.
- She Impressed to Evmeth in 193, during the Dragonplague, when Hiraeth's clutch had to be moved to Igen territory for its own safety.
- She was training under the weyrlingmaster, but at some point during Turn 1, she was pulled from those duties indefinitely. Word on the street is that she used her dragon's Command on a group of weyrlings.
- Shylla's a mother! She has a two-year-old named Flennan, who has recently started living in the creche with the caretakers. No one's quite sure on who the father might be, but the drudges have some pretty creative ideas if you care to ask.

Uncommon Knowledge:
- Shylla takes an interest in heraldry and family trees, especially her own. She never knew much about her biological parents, being raised in the creche, so any information has her utmost attention.
- It's true, Evmeth used Command on a group of weyrlings. She had just lost a considerable number of her previous clutch to threadfall, and her panic at the thought of losing any more caused her to stall the senior weyrlings, who were preparing to assist in their first fall. Some people find her at least sympathetic for her reasons, others (most notably wingriders) find her responsible for the deaths of those who were expecting back-up that day. For her part, Shylla feels extremely guilty, and recognizes her actions as a severe mistake.
- Shylla, like Venk, is not big on politics, and tends to distrust bronzeriders with hidden agendas. That being said, there was a time when the woman was positively smitten with a certain Wingleader of 3rd-1.

Zarike - Weyrling - 18 - M
Common Knowledge:
- Zarike is from High Reaches Weyr, born and raised.
- He has had more than his fair share of brawls but has not been known to hold a grudge. He's actually rather forgiving and trusting!
- Zarike has a hard time paying attention to lessons, but can listen to someone discuss their craft for hours on end.
- Zarike squired to four-two

Uncommon Knowledge:
- Rumor has it that Zarike punched a dragon egg from Hiraeth's most recent clutch. He then Impressed the brown dragon from within. This rumor is true, but he'd rather not talk about it.
- If asked, Zarike will tell how Peth had begged him from within the shell to be free. He won't volunteer the information though. Let others think what they want of him. He'd rather be the villain than anyone think bad of Peth.
- This will become more common over time, but Peth has a seizure condition... he will not be able to take a place among any of the wings and likely won't be allowed to fly much at all.
- Don't tell Peth... but Zarike had hopes to be a member of one of the high wings... Now he won't even be accepted into the wing he squired for.
- Zarike has very fine handwriting, even if his poetry is terrible.


Jasiline - Weyrling - 20 - F
Common Knowledge:
- Jasiline is from High Reaches Hold
- She has a bronze firelizard
- Sanuyeth is a wher in dragon's clothing. >_> Don't let that pretty hide fool you. This girl has a temper shorter than a firelizard's attention span.
- She has two older brothers, one a merchant like their parents, the other is a Wherhandler in the High Reaches Cavalry.

Uncommon Knowledge:
- She had dreams of becoming a Wherhandler! Accepting Search was a combination getting away from her parents/being in a position to take up wherhandling when she aged out.
- Her firelizard was bought for her by her parents with her dowry money. She is now a status symbol to them, but not that welcome in their home.
- Jasiline has deep moments of insecurity that she tries to mask with a 'no-shaffs-given' attitude. The ruder she's being, the more uncomfortable she probably is.
