Nobody would have ever suspected Henry came from a broken family with a depressed father and an overbearing mother. The boy's fondest memories were of Christmas time in his early years- around the age of seven or so. Mister and missus Elliott would put on their best fake smiles for their son so that one day a year he could experience what it was like to have a real family. As the boy grew though it began to get tiring and pointless. Especially in his alcoholic father's eyes. The boy's mother always did her best to keep Henry happy, seeing as how he was her pride and joy. She felt it her job to cheer up her son whenever his father put him down, which was more often than not.
When Henry was twelve his father left without so much as leaving a note. Since then his usually overly insistent mother became all the more protective of her little boy. If he wasn't considered sheltered before he certainly was now. She would spend all her time either working her two jobs to keep their apartment or she would be keeping an eye on Henry by doing silly little family activities. Henry never mind this much considering he didn't have many friends.
