Yet another lonesome weekend of make believe for the boy with chocolate curls and eyes the color of moss. His mother had finished her first shift at the local Poke Center and came home to switch uniforms. Oh, how Henry wished she could just stay home and play Candyland with him or one of the other board games they brought out every weekend.
Mrs. Elliott was just heading out the door when she saw that sad look on the boy's face and caught that sigh of boredom her son was giving. "Henry, how would you like to come help me at the floral shop?"
Instantly the boy perked up and raced off without so much as a word to go grab his little rucksack, slinging it over his shoulder. Together they walked to his mother's work, which was conveniently just down the street from the apartment complex they stayed at. Upon entering the shop Henry immediately rushed to the back where he would fetch the watering cans and began to fill it so that he could get to work. Watering the plants was always his favorite job. Sometimes a stray beautifly would flutter indoors and Henry would get distracted with trying to capture it. Perhaps today something exciting like that would happen to the boy.

Rydia stepped off the ship and onto the dock, gazing at the port in wonderment. There were so many people here, nothing like Floaroma! Even though she'd been to many places, it always amazed her just how many people there were in the world. She looked down at the pokeball at her belt and smiled cheerfully. "We're here, Malorne!" After watching the people mill about the port for a couple minutes more, she darted off to the town, intent upon finding the local floral shop. They had to have one, right? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- After asking around, perhaps too excitedly, she had obtained directions to the flower shop. Standing outside of the establishment, a gentle breeze blew past, sending a lock of green hair into her face. Brushing it aside, the girl adjusted her brown cap and looked up with starry eyes. She strode into the shop, smiling widely.

The watering can Henry had decided to take out was the largest size they carried. The boy always did try to bite off more than he could chew. He had to use both hands to carry the thing, feeling disoriented by the sloshing water throwing off his balance a bit. He heard a rather distinct noise. Perhaps the flutter of a pair of wings? The boy glanced over his shoulder for a split second to hopefully catch a glimpse of vibrant colors and a long straw like tongue feasting from the flowers. He probably should have stopped walking but the boy attempted to multi-task. Bad decision. Henry collided with the green haired girl who had just entered the shop and down went the watering can, spilling it's contents all over the floor. "Oh geeze!" he flailed momentarily in a panic before bending down to set the can upright and started to fuss over the girl. "Are you alright? I didn't get you wet did I? I'm terribly sorry. I apologize, like, a billion times over. I'm sorry."

The boy had indeed spilled a fair amount of the water on her, but Rydia merely bowed her head back. "No, no, no, it was my fault! I wasn't paying attention because I was looking at the flowers because they're so pretty and lovely and oh my god I love flowers do you like flowers wait I'm apologizing aren't I oh jeez I'm so sorry for making you drop your water that was for the flowers wasn't it oh my god I'm so sorry!" The girl forced herself to stop talking and looked down, embarrassed. "Sorry. Rambling." Looking back up, the embarrassment was replaced by worry. "You're not hurt, are you?"

Henry had indeed been taken aback by her overwhelming amount of words and questions but he was amused more than anything else. "You talk a lot," he said very blunt and without meaning to insult her. It was just an observation. "I like the pokemon who feed from the flowers more then the flowers themselves. Sometimes we get some hungry little visitors. My mom says that they help the flowers somehow but I forgot what it is that they do. Oh! I'm really okay. It's just water... which you seem to have all over you. Geeze, I should be the one apologizing. Here, follow me. There are towels in back," he smiled at the friendly girl before taking her wrist without asking. He lead her behind the employee's only door and fetched a nice clean towel for her. "Here you go. Um, I'm Henry. I don't think I've seen you around before. Are you one of those people who came from the port?" His green eyes suddenly sparkled with interest.

Rydia blushed heavily and looked down. "Yes, I do, I'm sorry." Grabbed by the wrist, the girl had no choice but to follow him. You really don't need to apologize, it was my fault, really!" Accepting the towel with a meek "Thank you.", the girl began to towel off.
The girl quickly tried to plan out her words,so she didn't ramble. "Uhm, yes, I just got in about an hour ago or so, actually." She quietly congratulated herself on her success.

Henry gave a subtle shrug before casing his green eyes down just as she did. "I know I don't need to apologize but I wanted to," he cleared it up. His mother always taught him to be a polite boy to polite people. When the girl mentioned just getting into town it spiked his interest quickly enough. "Really? Where is it that you came from? Was it far away? What sort of pokemon do you have there?" he knew that pokemon varied over the lands but Henry had only seen the ones native to Katarina and the various others that belonged to the trainers who passed by. "Do you have one?" His eyes instantly flicked down to the pokeball on her belt that he had assumed to be just for show.

Rydia was taken off guard by the sudden barrage of questions, and she struggled to line them up in her head. "Uhhm... I just got in from Unova, which is pretty far, I guess? I originally came from Floaroma Town, though - that's in Sinnoh, and it has lots and lots of flowers and I decided that I wanted to bring flowers like in Floaroma Town to the rest of the world and after I finished planting a pretty nice garden in Sinnoh I went over to Unova and started one there but then I heard of Zatao and that it didn't really have a lot of flowers but surely everywhere has flowers and they're probably very pretty too so I came to look at the flowers here and plant some as well and I'm sorry, I'm babbling again aren't I, I'll just shut up now..." She buried her face in her hands, blushing, before she remembered the last question the boy asked.
"Oh! Oh, yes, I have one pokemon; Malorne! He's too big to let out in a crowded space like this, though."

Her talk of travel captivated him in such a way, nothing could have torn him from their conversation. He wanted to know everything about the places she came from. Especially the Pokemon that thrived there in their natural habitats. The fifteen year old waas about to question what sort of pokemon she had that was so large in side but just then Henry's mother poked her head into the room. "Henry James Elliott. What have you done?" The boy quickly snapped out of his ditsy starry eyed stare and focused on his mother. "W-what do you mean?" he questioned in response. His mother huffed and crossed her arms over her chest, a stern look spread across her face. "There is a huge puddle of water in the main isle. A guest nearly slipped. Get the mop and clean it up right away. Then I want you to go home, Henry. I'll be home just after dusk," the over stressed woman huffed before going back to her work. Henry hung his head with a sigh and started to look for the mop and bucket "M'sorry- um... I have to clean up and then go home. Um... it was nice meeting you- Oh... we never swapped names, did we? I'm Henry, but you should know that from my mom."Henry was so embarrassed by his mother and her scolding methods. He at least wanted the girl's name, though. That wasn't to much to ask, right?

Rydia was horrified. "Oh, no, it wasn't his fault! I wasn't paying attention and I got in the way and then he was a perfect gentleman and gave me a towel and then I talked too much and distracted him and oh no I'm prattling on again I'm sorry I'll be quiet!" But the woman had already left. Rydia turned to Henry. "I am so sorry! I don't know how I can make this up to you, I got you in trouble!"
Rydia paused her relentless apologies as she received his name. She smiled. "Henry is a nice name. It sounds regal, like a geranium. My name is Rydia. I'm sorry again for getting you in trouble..."

Henry wasn't even that upset, to be honest. He knew the moment his mother got home and would see the meal he would cook for her as an apology all would be forgotten. She wasn't exactly a strict parent when it came to things like punishment. That used to be his father's expertise. As the girl called him a gentleman though a faint film of blush spread across his cheeks. Henry did his best to shrug it off though. "Oh, thank you. You have a nice name too, Rydia. It's very cute. Um... maybe you can make it up to me though. I would really like to see your pokemon. Maybe I can show you back to my house? I mean, if you're not busy or anything. I can make us cheese and crackers!" He was all to eager to be a host, because honestly nobody ever came over to his house.

At being complimented on her name, Rydia beamed. "Thank you! It means 'rose petals on still water'." Hearing the boy's proposition, the girl smiled. "That sounds fun, Henry. Malorne has been cooped up in his pokeball ever since we left Unova, so I'm sure he'll be glad to be out for once, and cheese and crackers sound lovely. I don't really have anything of immediate importance to do, but I should probably find a place to stay before nightfall. So we have a few hours!"

Boy could this girl talk, but honesty it probably didn't bother Henry as much as it would a normal kid his age. Most of the time the curly haired boy had nobody to talk to but himself. It was nice to be the listener for a change. "Rose petals on still water? That is a very girly name," he laughed softly before realizing how that might have been taken the wrong way. "I mean, I like it. It's a nice kind of girly." He quickly defended his chuckles. "Oh good, then you'll come! Maybe my mom could like, let you sleep on our fold out couch. I'm sure it'd be a lot cheaper than one of the Inns around here, plus we can make you dinner." Henry knew they needed money. That's why his mother worked two jobs, and was even thinking about getting a third to pay for the rent. The boy just wished there was something he could do to help out. Henry guided the girl along the streets. As they walked he glanced over and spoke with much excitement, "Can you let your pokemon out now? I'm really curious."

Rydia smiled. "Thank you, Henry." The boy was so nice.
The girl waved her hands frantically at the boys offer to sleep at his house, however. "Oh, no! I couldn't possibly ask that of you! I already got you in trouble with your mom at the flower shop and she seemed really angry and I wouldn't want to make her angrier she might get mad at me me or worse she might get mad at you again and I couldn't bare the thought of making her mad at you you're so kind and-" The girl clapped a hand over her mouth for a few seconds before removing it. "I'm babbling again, let's go."
At the boy's request, she grabbed the pokeball from her belt and chucked it at the ground, catching it on the rebound. Revealing itself from a red flash was a majestic white stag, who towered over Rydia - it was clear this particular sawsbuck was larger than normal. Malorne looked down at Rydia, who returned the glance with a smile before looking at Henry. "Henry, this is Malorne. Malorne, this boy is Henry." The mighty sawsbuck gave the boy a cursory glance before deciding to look around at his surroundings.

Henry's mother had raised him to be quite a kind hearted individual. Especially towards the ladies. "You are most welcome, Rydia! I mean, it's the least I could do for getting you all wet earlier."
It was a bit alarming to see how eagerly the girl was to get out of sleeping over. The sensitive soul ended up taking that a bit personally, even though he should have known better. There was always one reason or another that the other kids would give to evade Henry's invitations to sleep over. "She really wasn't all that angry. She'll get over it really fast. I promise!" It was really too cute the way Rydia would babble on and on. It was quickly becoming Henry's favorite thing about the girl.
Henry saw her handle the sphere that contained her pokemon and instantly the boy became anxious. He switched off one foot to the next, shifting his weight side to side. When the boy got overly excited he couldn't help but fidget uncontrollably. A bad habit of his that made the other kids thing he was some sort of special. "Woah," he breathed out, taken aback by the girl's sawbuck. "Malorne? He is so.... I've never seen a Sawbuck this size before! Where did you get him? Back at your old region? Are they all this big over there? Do pokemon vary in sizes all over the world? Do you know? You've been to more places than I have. Oh, can I touch Malorne? Please?!" He began to wring his hands and bounce on the balls of his feet, brunette curls bobbing.
