A long stretch of grassland that winds between Blume Town and King Town, this route is very peaceful and quiet. The ground is almost completely covered with lush green grass that grows quite tall in some areas. With very few trees and lots of berry bushes, this route is a haven for Pokémon who enjoy living in grassy areas, and most tree loving Pokémon tend not to live here.
Berries Available Here: Pecha Berries, Leppa Berries, Oran Berries
Yellow Nectar may also be gathered here.

Laram craned his neck and eyed the skies above him. It wasn't long before a familiar shape came into view overhead, and he nodded to it. With Zeus keeping an eye on things from above, Laram was confident that nothing was going to sneak up on him and his new partner. So it was time to see what the little guy was made of."Okay Shadow, I know we just met and all, but I'll be honest with you. Bad luck seems to find Zeus and I on a regular basis. So we have to be tough. Yesterday I saw you use something in the shop to cut open a box. I want to see what you can do with it. So come at me, and try to cut me."The Froakie's face showed confusion and hesitation. It was understandable. After all, it's not every day that your new trainer, that you met the day before, asks you to attack him. Still, the frog was a warrior at heart. So gathering up his courage, and his energy, Shadow created a dagger of light in his right hand. As he did, Laram studied the Pokémon and his movements. Whatever the technique was called, it was painfully obvious that the Froakie wasn't used to it. It took him a little too long to build it up, and it wasn't any longer than Laram's knife. Which Laram didn't fault him, everyone had to start somewhere.
Laram nodded his approval, and put his weight on his toes. As he did, the frog lunged at him from five feet back. It was one heck of a jump, but Laram was very athletic, and simply side stepped it. Shadow was quick on his feet, but he was green. He had put everything into his jump, and hopped past his target and tripped. Of course, Laram waited for him to get up and try again. With a similar result."You can't make your first attack on an opponent a hail mary. Especially one that you haven't fought before. Take your time, don't reveal all your cards until the opportune time. Then strike."Laram emphasized his point by swatting Froakie on his back as he leaped at him again. It wasn't hard, just letting the Pokémon know that it was a possibility that he needed to be aware of. Laram unsheathed his knifw, giving it a twirl before gripping the handle."Smaller blades like ours are not attacking weapons. They are exploiting weapons. You need to create an opening in your opponent's guard first. Or find a weakness. I memorized your information from the Pokédex. Try using smokescreen."
Laram was not trying to be harsh, and he sincerely hoped it wasn't coming off that way. He was simply trying to help his new Pokémon succeed in battles. The Froakie paused for a second, but nodded and complied with Laram's request. He opened his mouth and spewed as much black smoke as he could in front of him before retreating to his trainer's side. Laram watched as the smoke settled, counting out the distance of the spread, and how long it took for it to dissipate."That's not bad. That give you plenty of room to conceal your movements, and a few minutes before visibility returns. With your abilities, and agility, I think you can function extremely well as a ninja. I can teach you if you want. While I don't have any formal training, I know how to keep my presence hidden when I need to. So I can teach you the basics at least."Laram looked down at his Froakie, who met his gaze with an excited glint in his eyes. He nodded furiously and hopped onto Laram's head happily. Laram laughed and patted his back."I'll take that as a yes. Okay, now..."Laram was cut off by a shriek from above him. He knew what it meant, trouble.

Laram scanned the air above him, looking for Zeus' silhouette in the sky. If the eaglet had called, it meant that something was wrong. Laram plucked Shadow from his head and gently placed him on the ground. He had finally spotted Zeus in the distance."Come on, something is wrong."Laram sprinted off in the direction of his friend, but he was still in the air. Laram didn't understand what was happening until he saw Zeus dive bomb out of the sky. Laram recognized that movement. Zeus was in a battle. As Laram approached the scene, he had to make quick assessments. It was a bit crazy, but one Laram found familiar. While growing up, Zeus had gained an acute sense of justice from his experiences. Whenever Zeus found others being abused, he never failed to step in. Laram admired that most about his brother bird; but it had gotten them in trouble many more times than necessary. As Zeus wrestled with another figure, Laram saw what had troubled him. A bird, and a rat were attacking a rabbit."It looks like your practical lesson starts now Shadow. Zeus, take yours into the air. Shadow use smokescreen."
Shadow leaped past Laram as Zeus clutched his opponent in his talons. If there was one thing Laram knew about the eaglet, his grip was the strongest Laram had felt. Zeus soared into the sky with a brown bird trapped, while Zeus bellowed black smoke over the remaining two Pokémon. Laram knew that Zeus could handle himself, but Shadow needed his full attention right now."Shadow, use your dagger. Remember, it's not meant for attacking."Laram saw flashes of movement in the smoke and hoped that Shadow could understand what he was meaning. But just as he started to wonder about the outcome, he heard the sound of contact, and Shadow landed just outside of the smoke. A set of eyes flashed in the haze and set themselves upon the frog. The way they shined made Laram suspect that it could see through the smokescreen. Shadow regained his footing, but seemed hesitant to return to battle. He kept his distance and circled the perimeter of his smokescreen until it dissipated. The small rodent lunged after him, trying to bite him. Shadow was too inexperienced, but Laram didn't want to make him lose confidence in himself. But how could he help? Realizing something, Laram quickly retrieved his Pokédex while his Froakie evaded his opponent's grasp. Shadow was more agile than his opponent, and that was going to be how he would win.
The rodent was called Patrat. As Laram sought to verify what he was assuming. He was right on the money. That thing's eyes were scary good. Shadow wasn't going to be able to sneak his way to victory. This was going to end in a battle of endurance."Shadow, smack down. Then use water pulse."Laram's Froakie grasped a rock as he somersaulted away from his opponent's teeth. Hucking it at his face before landing on ihs feet. As soon as he did, he formed a swirling ball of water between his hands and rushed forward. The Patrat's eyes flashed again, and it jumped out of the way of the oncoming rock. Right into the path of Shadow's next attack. Hitting dead on in the Pokémon's stomach, the attack caused it to fall backwards five feet and onto the ground. It was a direct hit, and a hard one at that."Great job. Keep up the pressure. Quick attack, then use your dagger."Froakie formed his dagger of light in his hand and rushed forward on his downed opponent. Laram understood one thing about Patrat. It had amazing eyes, but it couldn't keep up with Shadow's agility. The Pokémon scrambled, trying to get to it's feet, but too late. Like in a cheesy samurai movie, Laram's Froakie sliced past his opponent and paused just beyond. After the hit, Patrat lost it's will to battle and ran away into the brush. Now to deal with Zeus' fight.

Zeus hurled his opponent towards the ground with all his might. Their battle was drawing on longer than he thought. While the eaglet had the upper hand in strength, the bird was a bit more agile in the air. Zeus knew it too. Everything relied on restricting the bird's movement so Zeus could get his talons on it. That was easier said than done though. The terrain left too much room to maneuver in. Laram watched from the ground, scanning the bird as it plummeted. It's called Pidgey. It's pretty similar to Zeus, although it's not as physically strong. He's going to have to pin it to the ground, and keep it there. "Zeus, tailwind and aerial ace. Make it hit the ground."The eaglet trusted his partner, his commands were usually spot on. The Rufflet flapped his wings before folding them to his body and rocketed towards Pidgey. Since the bird was already falling, it took some time for Zeus to catch up. By the time he did, the bird had righted itself just before hitting the ground. But a little too late. Zeus' beak struck Pidgey in the side and the force slammed it into the ground, hard. The Rufflet fluttered upwards, but kept within striking distance of his foe.
The Pidgey gingerly stood up, and used its' wing to throw sand towards Zeus, causing some of it to get into his eyes. The eaglet reeled back trying to clean them out. This allowed the bird to go on the offensive. It fluttered its' wings furiously, stirring up a small tornado under Zeus. Zeus twisted around, unable to keep upright in the maelstrom, but the wind helped relieve his eyes of their irritation. Using brute force, the eaglet righted himself and flew above his opponent's attack. "Zeus just a little more. Whirlwind and air slash." The Rufflet flapped it's wings and created a small tornado, spinning in the opposite direction of his opponent's. The two cancelled each other out just as blue-white blades of energy slammed into Pidgey with unrelenting force. It fell hard, not able to continue fighting.
"Great job you two. Let's see who they were attacking."Laram and his team approached the rabbit Pokémon. It was unconscious, and badly injured. Laram didn't know why the other two attacked it, and he didn't care. It was injured, and needed help. Laram gingerly picked the rabbit up in his arms and motioned for Shadow and Zeus to follow. They hadn't gotten too far away from Blume Town, so Laram thought it best to return there. He had seen other trainers bring their Pokémon to the center to be healed, and that was where he planned to take Bunnelby. As he started walking, Laram had scanned the Pokémon to learn what he could about it. After ten minutes, Blume Town came back into sight. *Exit*

"Lesgoo Cas!" Caroline called as she sent out her Rowlet after a good night's rest. That battle had been quite the experience, but they were ready to finally high tail it out of Blume Town! She checked her map and it looked like King Town was next on her list. But first things first- she started climbing trees. It took a bit to figure out that no, berries were not like they were back in Alola. Eventually she scavenged together two Oran and two Pecha Berries for her two Pokemon. She could gather more later on.
As for Sullie, she held Eggy as she waddled around her trainer. In Alola it was only natural to have your Pokemon out at all times- it was also the safest. Who was going to try to hurt Caroline when she was surrounded by monsters who would defend her?
She did notice one thing however. There was a certain nectar that some flowers extruded back home. It could be used to change the form of Oricorios. Now she didn't know if she even wanted one. After all, why go to a different region if you were only going to use ones from your home? Caroline already had two. But it didn't help not to be prepared! "GET BACK HERE!"
When he had made his way to Route 1, Regal had pictured himself working alongside Nova throughout the morning to better learn his new partner's attacks and skills through basic practise. Instead, a wild Pidgey had chosen the exact moment Regal had chosen to lean back and stretch to relieve itself, helping the trainer to a face full of bird poop. It was at that moment that the 'peaceful' training exercises had change into a trial by fire.
"Nova, use Ember!" He commanded. "Knock it right out of the sky!" The Charmander responded accordingly and fired off a stream of small fireballs at the bird Pokémon, who skillfully flew its away around the attack before swerving back at its new opponent for a strike of its own. As the Pidgey came in close for a Wing Attack, Regal had Nova retaliate with Metal Claw. The two attacks collided with a crash, sending up a small dust cloud where they had made contact. It appeared to be a draw, with both Pokémon still upright and ready for more. Noting its opponents strength, the Pidgey went back up into the air where it couldn't be reached so easily, much to Regal's dismay.
With all the grass and flowers nearby, Regal didn't feel comfortable using Nova's stronger fire attacks for fear of lighting up the hillside. This meant that the two were stuck using physical attacks against an aerial combatant. It would have been much easier to simply switch Pokémon and use Jarvis to fight the Pidgey, but today's training was supposed to be about learning to fight with Nova, so Regal instead began racking his brains for a new plan.
"Just because we can't use our stronger moves to attack, doesn't mean we can't use them at all." He reasoned. "If we can't get the Pidgey to come to us, then we'll just have to advance instead." With a new plan in mind, Regal had Nova fire off another stream of Ember pellets at the Pidgey. They fell just a bit short of range, and the bird Pokémon took the opportunity to launch an Air Slash attack at its seemingly helpless opponent.
"Now, while it's attacking!" Cried Regal. "Use Smokescreen, then Fire Pledge to propel yourself!"
Opening its jaws, Nova expelled a cloud of thick black smoke to conceal itself from its opponent. Now under cover, the salamander Pokémon slammed its claws into the ground below, summoning up a pillar of flames. Right before it took off completely, Nova bravely leaped up onto the pillar, gritting its teeth through the heat as the flames launched it up into the sky. Caught off guard, the Pidgey wasn't quick enough to respond to the sudden intruder in its air space, and was sent plummeting to the ground courtesy of Nova's Rock Smash attack. The swirls in its eyes as the dust cleared confirmed that it wouldn't be getting back up again.
"Nice job!" Regal and Nova were all smiles as he caught the Charmander on its way down. For their first battle, the two had done better than expected. Sealing his new Pidgey in a Pokéball, the trainer let his new partner help itself to some Oran Berries before they made their way back to town. If that was how he performed in his first battle, Regal was looking forward to seeing what else Nova was capable of. For now though, it was time to head home.
"Gaze into Niflheim, and showcase the power that dwells deep within your soul! Your willpower shall illuminate the pits of the underworld!" Tori's left hand covered his face, a gloved hand covering the majority of his face, a red eye peeking out from between the fingers, as his right hand gestured towards the trainer in front of him. The young buck-toothed trainer looked up to the male, looking down to his Bidoof.
With a snort, the buck-toothed trainer pushed his glasses up and smirked. "Heh. My Bidoof will knock you down a peg!"
Torikki, remaining in pose, looked to the side, and gestured towards his Pokemon. Maji and Kita both scooted their snoots up to Tori, and waited for the selection to be made.
"Alright. Beating the beaver. There's a joke somewhere, but it's beneath me. Whose going up?" Kita spoke with berries upon his breath, pulled the headphones off his head, and placed them on Tori's bag, sitting comfortably on the ground, as he began to stretch.
Maji merely looked to the ground, trying to hide underneath the purple scarf around her neck. "I-I... I feel a tad bit nervous. I've never been in a Pokemon battle." spoke the fox, berries also on her breath.
A pause from Torikki, before his pose shifted, both his arms flung outwards, his hands pointed upwards like holding a flame, his eyes looking with a fusion of malice and enjoyment.
"Guardian of the Abyss! Kitanai! To my side! Servant of the Flame Majikku, take notes, for you shall see the beginning of Ragnarok itself!" Tori shouted out as loud as he often did.
Kita smirked. "Hmph. Least you're not dumb, man. Come on then!" Kita walked forward, the smirk on his little Scraggy face completely visible, as he pulled up his pants a bit and assuming a fighting stance. The Bidoof on the other side, owned by Buck Teeth. The beaver got on all fours.
Kita wasted no time at all on the grasslands and proceeded to rush his beaver-faced enemy. His tiny legs rushed forward, as the beaver stood his ground, in waiting of the bipedal tiny head to reach the beaver. When making contact, Kita slowed down, rolled onto the ground, grabbed some sand from his fold pockets, and proceeded to throw sand in the beaver's eyes. [Kita: Sand Attack]
A successful attack! The sand hit every corner of the Bidoof's eyes, making it impossible for the beaver to see properly. The beaver, seeing as the bipedal was JUST in front of him, proceeded to make a headbutting motion straight ahead as a reaction. [Bidoof: Headbutt]
Another successful hit! The unexpected attack left Kita with little time to react, and so when the headbutt made contact with Kita, he only had little time to adjust. Moving to his side, the headbutt hit the bipedal's side, and threw him backwards. With a quick cartwheel, the Scraggy landed on one foot, trying to get some footing. Turning his head back, Kita looked to Tori for a command.
"Show that spawn of the underworld who rules! Cut him down with the Spear of Gungnir!"
"That's not helping!" But the Scraggy had an idea of what to do. Cut was a chopping motion, and the tiny bipedal knew how to chop, alright. Rushing forth, the Scraggy jumped into the air, placed both his hands together in a prayer motion, and slammed them downwards onto the Bidoof's body. [Kita: Brick Break]
Another successful hit! Due to the beaver's inability to see correctly, he couldn't dodge correctly, and Kita could hear how much ti hurt. The beaver cried out, and rolled out of the way, while Kita looked around with a smirk.
"That's fighting dirty!" The Buck-Toothed Trainer cried.
Crossed arms and a nod, Tori replied with a sneer. "Foolish fool! By the gaze of Loki, master of tricks, you must use ALL to your advantage to excel to the heavens of Valhalla! Honor means little on the battlefield, for you are dealing with the guardian of the abyss!"
"On the -snort- defensive! Curl!" The beaver followed his master's wishes, and began to curl up. [Bidoof: Defense Curl]
Tori sneered further, giving a roaring laugh upon the pathetic beaver's curls, a slight smell of berries upon his breath. "Alright, Kita! Prepare to show him the gates of hell!"

You'll never see it coming...
The adrenaline was intoxicating, and Tori felt a strange happiness he had never truly felt before. He was feeling so alive, and ready to keep this battle going. And Kitanai, while looking a tad bit hurt from the surprise headbutt, wiped the tiny bruise made on his side. If one thing was true, his last attack did more to Bidoof than Bidoof's did to him.
All the while, Maji watched in awe at the current affairs. Every move seemed ... sloppy. It was like Tori and Kita weren't as connected as they should have been. Maybe it was a clash with their personal desires. While Kita attempted to translate what Tori was saying, Tori's flamboyant lines were too difficult to decipher on the battlefield. Even a newly born starter could see the problem there.
And yet... Maji smiled. They were still trying. It was working still, so there was no reason to be alarmed. At least for now. But their connection needed to be stronger for these kinds of commands. Something, Maji thought, would need to be discovered over time. She was confident in her newly found master.
As Kita watched in wait to the beaver's next move, the Scraggy stood up, and turned his head back to Tori. "Well, crazy?"
A thunderous laugh, as Tori crossed both arms upon his chest, his hands grasping for the opposite arm's shoulder as he looked back to the bipedal Pokemon. "I've made my will known!"
"Cut the s- HEY! It's my tu-!" But it was too late. The giant beaver flung forth, and sped after the bipedal in ball form. [Bidoof: Rollout]
Another successful hit! The Bidoof collided with the Scraggy on a direct rollout, causing the little bipedal to fling backwards a bit, rolling in the dirt a bit. The pain he felt wasn't all that serious; after all Scraggy was a Fighting type. Still, a blindsided beaver ball wasn't exactly on the expected list. Which made it worse because that beaver was racing around to do it again.
"Gather your strength back! You must focus, Kitanai!" Tori yelled out, as his hands gestured towards the Scraggy. Kita's eyes watched the beaver spin around, ready to come back his way. But this time? Kita was ready. Gathering power into his fist, the little bipedal moved it backwards as the beaver ball neared its destination. And in a few seconds of impact, he flung it forward, ready to suck Bidoof's energy dry. [Kita: Drain Punch v. Bidoof: Rollout x2]
The collision sent the beaver flying backwards, as well as pushed Kita back himself a couple of feat. But Kita's bruises seemed to heal, if only a tiny bit. Bidoof, on the other hand, was looking worse for wear. Both attacks had landed their mark; only Bidoof's second Rollout had seemed to lose its impact.
"The end is nigh, Kita! Do not hesitate! For Loki watches!"
Laram had literally tried to leave Blume Town earlier in the day, but now, he finally was for real. He just hoped that they didn't come across any other aggressive Pokemon. From what the nurse told him, there was another town if he followed the road they called Route 1. With two Pokemon by his side, Laram felt like he was really starting to become a trainer. With Shadow and Jack walking alongside him, and Zeus in the sky watching for danger, the crew made their way down the route. However, a couple of miles down the road, Zeus called from the sky. It was Laram's favorite signal. It meant there was food nearby. Craning his neck, Laram spotted where Zeus was circling overhead and followed him to that point. He found what the Rufflet was talking about. Off the path a ways, through a field of yellow flowers, there were tons of berry bushes everywhere. From what the trainer could tell, there were three types around them. Living as an orphan street urchin in Hoenn, Laram had to learn some minor horticulture to survive. Berry identification was one thing Laram was good at.
"See these guys? These are called pecha berries. They're great if you somehow get poisoned. These are called leppa berries. They're really helpful if you're a bit tired and need a quick boost. These. Awesome! These are oran berries!"Laram grabbed as many oran berries as he could fit in his hand and shoved them into his mouth. It had been such a long time since he had any. They melted in his mouth and he savored every second of it. He motioned that Shadow and Zeus should join him and they both picked some of the delicious oran berries. It wasn't long before Zeus had retreated from the sky to join in the feast. After the team cleared one bush, they started on another. Once they had their fill, Laram stored eight oran berries in his pack. Along with five leppa, and five pecha berries. With his Pokemon licking their respective appendages clean, Laram patted his stomach in appreciation. It wasn't often that he ate so well.Probably shouldn't have eaten so many berries, but oh well. That's future Laram's problem, not mine. With their stomachs full and their spirits high, the budding new trainer and his team headed further north along the route.
Regal put the last of the Pecha Berries into his Berry Pouch and looked at his team approvingly. The group had stopped momentarily on their way to King Town to stock up on berries for the trip, since it was a lot cheaper than buying more Potions and Antidotes. They had gathered a nice amount of all the different berries the route had to offer, and then gorged themselves on some more. Nova and Icarus had pink smears all over their mouth and beak respectively from all the Pecha Berries they'd snacked on. Chuckling to himself, Regal withdrew a small handkerchief from his pocket and bent down to start wiping them clean.
"It's a good thing you guys aren't messy." He remarked as he finished cleaning Nova's face. The salamander Pokémon fidgeted slightly as his trainer attacked his face with the cloth, but didn't otherwise resist as he was being cleaned. Once the handkerchief was out of his face however, the Charmander was met with a rather curious sight. Peeking out from over his trainer's head was a tiny Pokémon with yellow fuzz and minuscule wings. Just as soon as they made eye contact though, the little bug disappeared into Regal's mane of snowy white hair. Startled, the lizard did the only logical thing it could think of, and tackled his master to get at the stranger hiding in his head.
"What's gotten into you?" He asked as he pried the fire type off of him. "Do you hate being cleaned that much?"
Shaking his head no, Nova pouted slightly as he thought about how to tell Regal about the bug in his hair. It didn't take long for the clever Pokémon to come up with a solution, however. He simply asked Jarvis to tell him. The artificial aid complied immediately, sending a message to his trainer though the Pokégear strapped to his wrist. After reading it, Regal cautiously ran his hand through his hair, and tried his best not to completely flip out as a tiny Pokémon clung onto his finger. It looked up at him with a curious expression on its face, as though conflicted about whether or not it should run. Regaining his composure, Regal offered it a berry to calm it down. As it accepted the offering and began to chow down, the trainer took a look at its information on his Pokédex.
"Cutiefly: The Bee Fly Pokémon. Cutiefly feeds on the nectar and pollen of flowers, and also can detect the auras of living things, including people, Pokémon, and plants. When living creatures are excited, it seems that their auras resemble those of flowers in full bloom. As a result, these Pokémon tend to gather near people or Pokémon feeling particularly happy or sad."
"I guess you liked our auras." Regal commented as he stowed the device away. Now finished with its berry treat, the Cutiefly buzzed happily around the trainer's head before coming to a rest on top of one of his Pokéballs. Taking the hint, Regal asked if it wanted to join him on his journey. With that, the trainer now had his fourth Pokémon. With the new member of the team settling itself once again on top of his head, Regal continued his journey to King Town, feeling better than ever about his upcoming gym challenge in Nix.
"Stop right there! I'll be taking that package off your hands."Laram pushed Michael behind him and took a defensive stance."That's not going to happen while I'm here. Turn around and walk away.""That's not going to happen either. So I guess I'm just going to have to take it from you."The man in front of them was wearing all black attire and a ski mask, hiding his face. Laram watched him throw three pokeballs in front of him, releasing a purple ball, a small black cat, and a larger white mongoose. The trainer scanned them all with his Pokedex and retrieved what information he could in the short amount of time he had. The problem was, that Zangoose looked really strong. The trainer needed superior numbers to win. Luckily, the trainer was very adept at handling multiple Pokemon at a time. He released his entire team in front of him and called Galahad down to fight as well. The trainer ordered them into groups of two. His Diggersby and Elekid were to take on the Zangoose. Charmander and Pansage were set up against Sneasel. That left his Froakie and Rookidee to fight against Koffing. Laram nodded to them all and addressed the mugger once again.
"Just walk away! We don't have to do this!""You haven't won just because you have more Pokemon. Sneasel, use Slash. Koffing, Sludge. Zangoose, use Slash as well."With that, their battle began. Laram grimaced. He had been in tough battles before, but he could tell this would be a challenge. He called out his orders as fast as he could."Firnen, Smokescreen, Thorn, Leech Seed. Galahad, Drill Peck. Shadow, Cut through that sludge and use Water Pulse. Baldur, grab Thor and use Bounce. Thor, use Signal Beam."With all Pokemon given their orders, all nine of them jumped into action. The Sneasel rushed forward, but Laram's Charmander bellowed black smoke from his maw, hiding the lizard and monkey from its' view. This was enough to slow the Pokemon down as it rushed into the smoke. But it couldn't see, so it effectively had no target. In the confusion, Laram's Pansage threw a seed onto its' back. Once it struck, the seed sprouted large vines that wrapped Sneasel up, constricting its' movement. At the same time, the thief's Koffing spit a black substance from its' mouth at Laram's Pokemon. As the projectile flew through the air, Laram's Froakie formed a knife from light and cut through the attack, allowing it to harmlessly pass on either side of the amphibian. Focusing on it's nullified attack, the Koffing failed to dodge Laram's Rookidee who slammed into it from behind, corkscrewing the whole time. On the other battlefield, Zangoose launched forward, but Laram's Diggersby snatched Elekid in one of his ears and leaped high into the sky. This allowed them to dodge the formidable Slash attack. Once in the air, Thor launched a blue light attack at the mongoose.
"Sneasel, use Icy Wind on yourself. Koffing, use Poison Gas in all directions. Zangoose dodge. Then taunt."Sneasel grimaced, struggling a bit on the vines binding it. At his trainer's command, the Pokemon breathed chilling breath on the vines. This froze them, and the Pokemon burst free from his binds. Koffing lurched forward from the force of the attack that hit, and immediately began pumping a purple gas from every hole in the Pokemon's body. At the same time, the Zangoose stopped his momentum and twisted out of the way of the beam attack hurling towards him. Then, gave a very rude gesture towards Laram's Diggersby. This did not sit well with the jackrabbit, and Laram could tell that his warrior spirit was triggered. Bad move. "Baldur, throw Thor, then use Hammer Arm. Thor, use Thunder Wave. Firnen, Thorn, don't let up. Use Grass and Fire Pledge. Galahad, get back and use Swagger. Shadow, use Smokescreen." Laram's Rookidee darted backwards, avoiding the gas that surrounded Koffing. After the bird was clear, he began flying and chirping in a provocative way, angering Koffing. As the purple Pokemon began to chase after the bird, Laram's Froakie spit black smoke in the Pokemon's face, hiding Rookidee in the gas. Laram's Diggersby, fueled by his rage, chucked his friend at Zangoose. Once Thor was close, he released electricity from his horns that surrounded the mongoose, and penetrated its' body. The Pokemon winced, and couldn't move, allowing Baldur's attack to hammer him violently from above. The Diggersby's oversized fist ear slammed onto the Pokemon's head and pummeled it into the ground. Laram's Pansage slammed his hands onto the ground in front him, building a large tornado of leaves that launched towards the struggling Sneasel. After this, Laram's Charmander repeated the movement, producing multiple pillars of fire that all chased towards their opponent. The two attacks collided on Sneasel, who had just then freed itself. But the Pokemon didn't have enough time to dodge, so it took the full brunt of the attacks. Fire erupted all around the Pokemon, engulfing it.
"Return, all of you! You won this round, but I'll be back!" The thief in the ski mask returned all three of his Pokemon in a red beam of light. Laram smirked as the thief flipped him off, but was shocked as he disappeared in a puff of smoke. That was kind of cool, I have to admit. "Are you okay Michael?""I'm fine. That was amazing. I've never seen someone command so many Pokemon all at once. I figured you were just gonna let him rob me, considering how much we've been fighting."Laram sighed. "Of course I wasn't going to let that happen. It's my job to keep you safe. Even if we were strangers, I would have done what I could to help. Come on. We're only about half an hour away from Blume Town. Let's finish your job."Laram thanked his team and returned them to their Pokeballs to rest. He doubted anything else was going to happen to them before they got into town. The pair finished their trek and immediately made their way to Madam Valerie's Tea Shop.
"Galahad, use Drill Peck. Thor, use Signal Beam."Laram and his team were in the middle of a battle against a couple of Pokemon that had attacked them along their way. Laram wasn't sure why they were attacked; Oddish were not usually aggressive, even when provoked. But nevertheless, they had attacked. The pair of grass Pokemon had attacked with some sort of powder that Laram didn't recognize. It made him sleepy, but he fought through the lethargy and released his Elekid and called down his Rookidee to battle. After scanning the Pokemon he realized that they were nocturnal.Maybe I woke them up and they're cranky. I don't like hurting Pokemon for no reason, but they attacked.Laram's Pokemon's attacks hit home, and the two Oddish quivered, before they bolted off into the flower field behind them. Laram thanked his team and decided it would be a good idea for his Pokemon to stretch their legs while they were traveling back to King Town. It was also a good opportunity for him to get to know his new Pokemon. The trainer released the rest of his team, including his two new partners. There was Sun, the Chimchar; and his new Wimpod. Sun smiled and Laram patted him on the head. But his Wimpod, scared, cowered at the trainer's presence.
"Hey, it's okay. I'm not going to hurt you."Laram reached into his pack and procured a sweet berry to give to Wimpod as a peace offering. The trainer knelt down and made himself less imposing to the bug Pokemon. Very carefully, Laram stretched out his arm and offered the berry to Wimpod. The offered treat was far enough away to give Wimpod the choice to take it or not, but he seemed nervous still. The scuttle bug looked around at the rest of Laram's team, not knowing what to do. So Laram took that opportunity to hand out berries to the rest of his team to reassure the bug Pokemon. All of Laram's team munched on their berries happily, and this was enough to persuade the silverfish Pokemon to gingerly accept the berry from Laram's hand. As the Pokemon ate, Laram inched his way closer, trying not to spook him. Once the trainer was close enough, he put one hand on the scuttle bug's back and that was that. A bond had been made. Laram smiled, knowing that he made a new friend. With his new team in tow, Laram set off towards King Town, picking enough berries to supplement what he gave out.

With the bright sun shining overhead, Route 1 looked even more picturesque than normal. It would have normally been too hot, but a light breeze sweeping through the road kept things at an even temperature, something Yukiko was very grateful for. Angelica and Jasmine were still enjoying the day outside of their Pokéballs, and the Chikorita especially seemed delighted with the sunny weather. The three of them were out here on a job to gather some local ingredients for the tea shop in Blume Town, and Yukiko could already see the first item on her list in plain view: Pecha Berries.
"These look really plump." She commented while feeding some to her Pokémon. "The soil here must be full of nutrients."
In addition to Pecha Berries, the trainer also came across bushes full of Oran and Leppa Berries, which she also made sure to stock up on. Next, the trio began looking for Yellow Nectar, which was the next ingredient on their fetch request. They found it without too much trouble, but Yukiko quickly became distracted when she spotted an adorable bunny Pokémon hopping through the grass. Her Pokédex identified the cute newcomer as a Buneary, and the trainer immediately seized the opportunity to practice battling with her new Chikorita.
"Alright, Angelica! Let's kick things off with Razor Leaf!" She commanded. Angelica swung the leaf on her head, sending a small wave of the green projectiles sailing towards its target. Its opponent was too quick, however, and used its Agility to easily dodge the incoming attack before getting in close to attack with Dizzy Punch. As it approached, Yukiko scanned through Angelicas list of attacks using her Pokédex before commanding the grass type to defend itself with Reflect. The barrier did its job of deflecting the damage, but that still left things at a stalemate.
Searching frantically, the girl spotted an attack in her Pokédex called Natural Gift, which used berries to alter its attack power and typing. Selecting a Leppa Berry from her pouch, the trainer whipped the morsel at her Chikorita and called for it to use the attack. A super-effective blast of fighting type energy erupted from the little Pokémon, and the Buneary quickly went down. Sealing it in a Pokéball, Yukiko wiped her brow and praised Angelica for a job well done before coming to the realization that she had just caught her first Pokémon. Trying not to look too pleased with herself, the girl regained her composure and began gathering the Yellow Nectar she was tasked to find along with some wild honey. Now that she had everything they needed, they could finally go back to Blume Town and hit up the tea shop to collect their paycheck. She couldn't wait.
Just as Yukiko had expected, finding a Gossifleur to catch for Madame Valerie had been a very simple task. The grass type was rooted in the middle of a nearby flower field and basking in the sun's rays as they shone down from above. It seemed to be sharing its sunbathing spot with a wild Petilil, who was also enjoying the warmth shining down on it. It seemed like it would be in poor taste to disturb the two with a sudden battle, so Yukiko decided to get creative. Releasing Jasmine and Angelica from their Pokéballs, the trainer had her Eevee use Helping Hand to boost Angelica as the grass type started using Sweet Scent. Between Jasmine's assistance and the Chikorita's naturally scented leaf, the whole area was soon awash in the sweet, soothing fragrance. Having already been relaxed before, the wild Gossifleur and Petalil both closed their eyes as they succumbed to their sweet afternoon nap in the sun, after which Yukiko promptly caught them both.
She had only been requested to catch the Gossifleur for Madam Valerie, but the trainer figured that the Petilil might come in handy as well. Although bitter, the bulb Pokémon's leaves could also be boiled down to make medicine for restoring vitality. Together with the medicinal tea made from the Gossifleur's pollen, the sick child the owner was worried about would be right as rain in no time. At least, she sincerely hoped so. After praising Jasmine and Angelica for a job well done, Yukiko took her two new Pokéballs and clipped them securely onto her belt before taking off again the same way she came. She didn't want to keep Madame Valerie or that sick child waiting.
Asher felt the cool air on his face and couldn't help but smile. He loved being outdoors, and the temperate climate was perfect for a little stroll. Of course, he didn't have time for that right now. The sun was beginning to set behind the trees, and it was going to be dark soon. He had taken care of their food in town, but they needed a campsite, and fast. Trainer and Pokemon jogged down the small trail, scanning back and forth for a plot of ground that was clear from debris and flat enough to fit their purposes. After around fifteen minutes of search, Asher chose a spot beneath a mid-sized tree about five minutes off the path. He didn't have enough time to get a fire going, so he put all of his effort in setting up a tent. His Pokemon could sleep in their balls, so he wasn't too concerned about it being big enough for all of them. He finished up as the sun set beneath the horizon. It was dark, but the stars looked beautiful through the branches. Sitting up against the tree, Asher began passing out dried fruit to his team. It wasn't much, but it would provide enough sustenance until they could get more food tomorrow.
Once everyone had eaten, Asher offered to put them in their pokeballs for a more comfortable night. Everyone agreed but Radar. Which didn't surprise the trainer. They had often spent many a night cuddled together in that tent. The pair crawled in the front flap and began to make themselves comfortable. There was the typical sounds of all the nocturnal Pokemon waking up and getting ready to begin their night. But a rifling sound was coming from just outside the tent. Asher quickly scampered out to see a small rabbit Pokemon trying to get at the supplies in his backpack. The trainer immediately tried to shoo the creature away, but it only retreated slightly and cocked its' head in a questioning way. I'm going to have to capture him. He's not scared enough to chase away. Asher retrieved a pokeball from his pack and waved it at the bunny Pokemon. "If you don't get out of here, I'm going to have to bring you along." The jackrabbit, undeterred, continued to sniff around Asher's belongings for food. Sighing to himself, Asher grabbed more of the dried fruit from his pack. "Fine, if you're going to stick around, you're going to help me out."
He tossed the Pokemon some food, and while it was preoccupied eating, he tossed the pokeball at it. The ball only shook once before giving off a sound chime, indicating a successful capture. Asher scanned the capsule with his new pokedex before shrinking it and adding it to the rest. "Bunnelby huh? I think I'll call you Jack." The capsule shook once more and sprang open, revealing the jackrabbit from within. It wiggled its' nose and looked up at its' new trainer. "Don't like the pokeball? That's fine. Come on." Asher motioned for Jack and Radar to follow him into the tent, which they did. After a couple minutes of fidgeting and rearranging, the trio found a comfortable position and laid down for sleep.
