Aidan pretends that his chains and occasional differences from others don't bother him, but he is only hiding the hurt he sees as weakness, having a very strong belief in what a 'man' is. He is always willing to help his fellow man[ifest] and not beyond using his strength to his advantage.

personality. Dari is very relaxed and quite mature, although sometimes can appear to lack the emotional spectrum that others are capable of. Rest assured, it is all a well-trained facade for his profession. He feels love, affection, loathing, excitement; anything you can feel, he can feel... except pain. The Manifest Dreamery allays some of his self-consciousness, but in terms of Earth he must always be in human disguise and is incredibly aware of all eyes on him. He would rather like to visit the world he comes from, but can't quite remember it and wonders if anyone might be able to connect with him outside of his professional partnership.
appearance. While he holds a humanoid shape, Dari is far from human. He is composed of a black substance, an oozing slime surrounded by a rubbery membrane of the same make. He is semi-transparent with some flecks of other colors, and a pair of glowing white eyes lacking pupils or irises.
other. He can take upon any shape of the same volume as his current form, but can grow or shrink in size as he consumes or drains. He has no bones, only a series of organs to regulate pressure and create sound. Both are unnecessary for life, but the latter enable shape-shifting. Any process that involves changing shape or internal makeup takes several seconds to several minutes, and digestion generally takes place over a series of days for inorganic material. Dari also sees in four dimensions and seems to possess several human-similar, potentially extra and nearly unidentifiable senses.

personality. Toby is assuredly the less serious of the pair, prone to sarcasm and even immaturity at a whim. He is painfully stubborn and difficult to upset, but quick to laugh. He is very good at what he does, though, and would gladly risk his own life for the safety of the public, who he knows would undoubtedly slaughter him if they knew what lingered behind his human appearance. He has control over his transformations, except for on the night of a full moon.
appearance. A tall, leanly-muscled man with blonde hair and golden-brown eyes, generally clad in a formal suit for work but otherwise prone to the same casual wear as anyone else. His feral form is that of a dirty blonde wolf up on two legs and portable to four.
collective history. Tobias had been born an average human boy in the late sixties, raised by a police officer and his wife in a stable home lacking the drama of some small suburbs. His childhood and adolescence were normal on all counts, with some more concern for the law and morality considering his father's profession. Come his twenties, Toby had a steady girl and a bright future in law enforcement, and life couldn't have been better. It was on a family camping trip in rural Missouri that things took a turn for the worse. A beast attacked their trailer, assumed a bear until it got close enough to see the lines of its predatory maw, and it was unstoppable. His father's gun could do no damage, and Toby's family was slaughtered, leaving a severely wounded young man lying in the woods.
A team had been tracking the great beast, and while cleanup continued a dying Toby was whisked away to a particularly clinical headquarters. He was kept barely alive by the miracle of modern medicine, and in him the FBPI saw potential. His first transformation healed his wounds and showed a human heart remaining within the beast that emerged. The werewolf was taken in as a trainee amidst the various human and supernatural agents within the secret organization.
It was several years later when an unidentified flying object crashed into the Arizona desert... again. Tobias, now nearly 41, was dispatched to the location to investigate. What they found was an empty, non-functioning ship and a strange fluid blob approximately 2 feet in width that appeared to move and track with a white orb. The being was taken back to the lab and classified, for a time, as 'a potentially sentient creature resembling cnidaria chrysaora achlyos'. Deemed 'Daria' by its recovering agent, the creature consumed whatever it could and grew in size. Tobias visited the creature almost daily, and over time it began to mimic those around it, adopting a humanoid form and duplicating its orbs to resemble eyes. It learned over the course of a year to speak [ and did so with a male voice, much to the chagrin on the werewolf whom had referred to it by a female name and pronouns ] and absorbed information as a computer collects data. The beast became a man, capable of complete thought and self-expression.
Dari had fleeting memories of his homeland and his people, but could not locate the planet or dimension. He was treated as a subject of study, but Tobias saw that the creature had become a man. Agent Reimer began to train Dari, and the deep bond formed through development and growing friendship caused the werewolf to defy his previous insistence that he work alone. The pair became two of the most successful agents in the FBPI, investigating and taking care of paranormal and supernatural situations around the world and, upon reaching an invitation to Pocket Dimension XX0Y, previously uncharted civilizations.
