The Courthouse - Durem In Durem, local trial courts conduct their business in a centrally located courthouse, which may also house county government offices. In some cases, this building often has its function divided as between a judicial building and an administrative office building. Many judges also officiate at civil marriage ceremonies in their courthouse chambers. Due to the recent 'Ian Shooting' incident, security has been increased to a redundant level for the first time in ages.

Owle strode in from the shopping district, looking up at the courthouse that loomed above her.
She'd heard of this place before...Ian had been shot right on these very steps!
She looked around, bracing herself for any horrors the chaos might throw at her.

Suddenly, the spirit of excitement jumped from the shadows. "BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" it exclaimed, chest pushed out in ecstatic glee.
With that, it moved on. It was a busy spirit, after all.

Owle leapt back, startled as a loud, braying laugh pierced the air ahead of her. For a moment, she was scared out of her wits...
Then she sighed in relief. It was only the spirit of excitement; he was harmless enough.

It took aproximately three seconds for Rage to get into an arguement with security, mostly about the weapons he carried. What was he supposed to tell them, that he was carrying them to ward off evil?
Giving up, he just punched the guard in the stomach and slipped into the crowds, soon approaching Owle. "Hey Owle... any chance you can create some sort of mental link, or bridge or something? That way if we get separated somehow we can know where the other one is."
He suddenly ducked as several security officers ran by, then stuck his head back up. He seemed to be too distracted to notice the spirit.
"Jeez, you look like you've seen a ghost. You okay?"

"Yeah," Owle said, recovering slowly from her shock. A lone snake was all it took to link her mind to Rage's. "I'll see if I can contact opaj, Angel, or Vahn later...or Nascen. One of them might have found something."
She tried to laugh it off. "Oh, it was only the spirit of excitement...crazy guy. He startled me, that's all."

"Yeah... opaj or Angel could be a huge help. But we should probably stay spread out. The more ground we can cover the better off we'll be finding these things." He didn't seem too interested in making Vahn a part of the plan. He didn't want to say what was next out loud.
Wait... what if we went inside? Or could check the steps? A lot of chaos happened here, so... maybe the petals are attracted to chaos. But I kinda wonder how we could get up there without being kicked off the steps....

Um...hmm...well, I think they'd let us see the steps...I don't think we're going to get inside with swords, though, unless...
Rage? How do you feel about waiting out here for a minute? Little birds manage to fly into places like this all the time...

No problem, said Rage, still darting through the crowd now and then to avoid the pissed-off security. But make it quick! Leaping above the crowd for a moment, he snatched an officer's cap off the top of their head, putting it on as he hit the ground. Considering he was a little shorter than average, if he stood still they'd only see the cap and not his bright green hair.

Alright.
The blue-haired woman melted away in a flurry of viscous black liquid, which shrank and solidified into the shape of a common song sparrow. The little bird hopped and fluttered about the courthouse steps, then darted in through a broken window.
The sparrow took herself on a little tour of the courthouse, sticking close to the ceiling, where people were less likely to take especial notice of a little bird. A few people pointed at her, but no guards came after her yet; she was just one lost little bird. Doubtless she'd find her way out eventually.

Nothing in here, Owle sent to Rage. The little bird found another open window and flew out. Off to the military housing?
She landed near Rage, regained her more human form, and headed off in the direction she'd suggested.

Sure thing, Rage replied, staying by Owle's side as they left the area. He kept on his hat just in case, though... never know when something like that could come in handy, or at least serve as a souvenier.

Guards, security. Pesky things.
The man kept to the opposite side of the street from them, glaring evilly as he clutched a ragged cat doll tight against his chest.
It was his. Not there's.
He watched, a nervous tick becoming uncontrollable. The left side of his face refused to stay still.
Guards.
His hand drifted downwards.
He watched one of them catch sight of him, making a threatening gesture for his own weapon.
The man shook his head, gave the guard a large smile, made a gesture to tip his hat that didn't exist, and straightened up, walking tall and proud.
There are more important things...
Yes, I know. I need to find her.
No, not that.
The items.
Which items?
The ones from the flyer...
Yes. That was it. The items. He needed the items.
Then that woman.

"Which way?" he whispered toward the doll. He held it up to his ear, listening for the guidance of the goddess within.
The instructions were long, detailed, the man nodded several times as the doll 'spoke' unto him.
Finally he put the doll aside, tucking it in his left arm like a small package.
His eyes were drawn to the sky, waiting for the omen that she spoke of. And lo and behold, there it was. His eyes locked onto the small dot, watching it, as it fell towards the ground.
....
His eyes jumped down to where it would hit.
A smile came to his face, as he watched a golden cat statue, slam into a dog, sending the dog scrambling for cover with loud yelps.
It was so.
And thus the man started towards the east, slinking from what shadows he could find to the next, avoiding the light of day as much as he could.

Once again in a city setting, without piles of cowshit Gamma hoped, he could see a great courthouse. No intention of sticking around for justice to find him, Gamma moved along ignoring the odd glances folk on the street were giving him.
