You sit around and literally, cower. You hide, you try to not get too close to the shadowlings. You are absolutely no help and simply watch others, or perhaps surrender to your fate once the shadowlings get tired of their surroundings and find you.
Fight:
Right, why are you cowering anyway? It is time to step up and attack! You get yourself ready, and brace yourself for shadowlings, a lot of shadowlings.

The area is infested with hundreds of tiny shadowlings, teeming in a thick, unsteady black. They do not seem ravenous quite yet, but they are getting restless, some straying a little too close towards you....

- Every time you attack you take damage equal to half your attack. - You can take five turns this round! This includes healing/ defending/ using a Fear attack/ special ability/ item as ONE TURN. - Make sure you use the form in the OOC above to calculate everything properly! - Every time you DO ONE DAMAGE you defeat ONE tiny shadowling. Domino bounced the tray of candy and treats carefully on his head, his hoodie making it impossible to carry the treats to the table anyways. He had barely made it to the table when a bunch of shadow creatures (about as tall as his short 5'2 frame is) ran him over and made off with his goods.
usually he wouldn't be TOO upset but...Candy was a different matter.

When he was not bothering Abel and the candy store, Pyxis' favorite haunt was the Maul. There were so many shiny things to be bought here, and neon was in this season! He had clearly taken advantage of this fact, as it was a little painful to look at him for too long.
He busied himself by stuffing sugarfloss into his mouth, handful by handful, a very small assortment of other small confections (and one lost bracelet) slowly orbiting his midsection. From his perch atop a dividing wall, the shadowlings were not much of a threat. Not until one managed to snatch one of his sweets out of orbit.
Startled by a nagging feeling of loss, he jolted upright, wide eyes looking down at the dark little creature. It was eating his treat whole. Without permission.
Pyxis gasped.
"Heeeelllp, heeeellllp, it's stealing my stuuuufff!" he cried, standing up on the barrier to point an accusatory finger down at it.

“Whoa, lil dudelings, rude!”
Hairwolf had been grooving to an absolutely righteous jam in Worst Buy, the sound of howling guitars and pounding drums leaving him oblivious to the commotion- until the new headphones he’d been trying on were brusquely yanked from his sparkly pink ears.
He wasn’t really the type to get angry, especially at anyone trying to disrupt regular society, though he considered it odd that the little black… whatever was now scarfing down his future purchase. But when one of the shadowlings grabbed the Muttley Crue album out of his hand and made off with it, well, he couldn’t stand for such an injustice! Nicki Licks, was like, a legend! And you definitely do not eat the music of legends.
He pounced after the shadowling with a growl. It was making its way towards the cafeteria and looking at his album very much like it was lunch.

His not even doing much ended up in him being carried off by the crazy shadowlings as well. He was small, He freaking KNEW he was small. But he was a demon, and what these creatures were doing.
It was downright unacceptable. He tried to swat at them with his hood...but it was like being caught in a mudslide. He was that tree that stuck out awkwardly but was moving down with the flow and didn't have much to say.
"You stupid beast, first you take the candy, then you take me. Wait, Stop! DON'T EAT THOSE!!" And there went some poor saps candy, he gave the other kid a look of complete understanding.
They took his sweets too bro.
It all ended when The mob rushed a werewolf. Who was much bigger then all of the creatures involved and dumped Domino on the poor guy.
"I'll kill them all..." His single eye burned with hatred as he looked at the taller being that currently was the wall keeping Domino from getting swept away again.
Why was this guy taller then him? That kind of irked him on top of all the other things about this day irking him. The proper response would be to thank the werewolf for unknowingly stopping Domino from his ride....
"Why the hell are you so goddamn tall...." Was what Hairwolf would get instead.

Kari strolled down the paved road that made up The Maul, taking in the peaceful surroundings. People were bustling by, taking in the side and observing the various wares in the respective shops. The ghoul yawned as she wandered over to a shop that held some interesting trinkets. Before she could invest too much time browsing, a scream pierced the air.
Swiveling around, Kari's gaze set upon a small creature, black as night. It had apparently stolen someone's food and was attempting to make a break for it. "Stealing something that isn't yours, I'll have you pay for that with your life", Kari growled, brandishing her weapon as the creature ran towards her.

The demon boy was resting on a bench with his glorious haul settled beside him within several bags. Deliberately ignoring the crowd and every individual who passed by, Alastair admired his claws glistening claws as his tail swung lazily behind him.
A scream caused the boy to cringe and he glanced toward the panicked horde with a look of dissipating nonchalance. Whatever was happening, Alastair knew right away he didn't want to get involved. This was supposed to be his relaxation day. He stood and reached for his loot only to discover a shadowling gnawing on it.
"Hey! Claws off, brat!" Despite the assumption that it was someone's stray minipet, Alastair swiftly slashed at the thing. It took another moment to realize there was much more than one.

Van's tail flicked back and forth in his sleep, as he drooled onto his hands, little fangs poking out every time his mouth yawned open in sleep. Occasionally, his canvas hightops would squeak against the Maul floor as he was clearly chasing something in his sleep. A twitchy little demon puppy, if ever there was one.
Which was why he woke first with a yelp, then also screaming, which shifted into a characteristic howl as his little heart began to pound and he was completely lost in the chaotic swarm. Eventually, his voice faded into a quiet whimper under his breath as he pushed to his feet and covered his ears; they were sensitive, and all this screaming was getting to him!
He was booking it decidedly backwards, when he tripped over the edge of a bench and onto whatever, or whoever, happened to be there-- he lay there, faintly stunned, with his ears flattened against his head, eyes wide and staring upwards.
"I hate the maul," he said, his eyes watering.

He skidded into the cafeteria, and right into another boil. Unable to move and further, Hairwolf watched as the shadowling he’d been chasing disappearing into the wriggling shadowy black mass. You could almost see the glittering tears that threatened to spill from his eyes. Almost, because after all, big dogs don’t cry, even over truly heinous crimes against rock. Hand clenching into a soft fist, he tilted his head skyward, closing his eyes. Sorry Muttley Crue, he’d failed you.
Knocked back to reality by the snarky boil barking something at his feet, Hairwolf glanced at him curiously. He reached for the collar around the other’s neck and plucked the hooded shorty from the mob with relative ease. Kicking a space clear of shadowlings, despite their annoying nipping at his heels, he set the boil down.
“I dunno,” he quipped, grinning, “Guess I just ate all my kibble growing up. These lil dudes sure are something, huh?”

Chaos was erupting all around Pyxis as more and more of the shadowlings began spilling into the area, bringing some fellow citizens and/or potential allies along with them. Well, he'd take what he could get.
He shared a brief but truly intense look of mournful candy longing with a stranger, hands clutched to his chest, before hopping down to join him. Shooing away a few approaching creatures with a blindingly bright foot, he extended his hand, taking advantage of the briefly bought time.
"Greetings, I'm--"
And someone else collided into the stranger. Excellent, more introductions at once! He extended both hands to compensate.
"Greetings! I'm Pyxis. I think that you'll both make great comrades and I decided I'm sticking with you. Okay? Okay." He nodded once, but had begun to shake the air as if he were already shaking their hands. Any time now.

"Dog food made you taller?" Domino narrowed his eye at the werewolf and then he sputtered as he was picked up and dropped "Just what the hell do you think you are-". Like he was weightless, like he was small...Because the werewolf could just do what he wanted.
/Emo moment for Domino because his flailing didn't even affect the big werewolf/
His face had turned bright red from embarassment of being a man and being picked up like he was nothing by another when a small voice perked up and catching his attention. Yes, the fellow candy losing fellow. A kindred spirit. He straightened his hoodie and sent a long glare at hairwolf again before turning to Pyxis.
He looked at the hand extended and because the other guy wasn't much taller...smiled at him and shook his hand. Or one of his hands.
"Sup! I'm Domino. That's cool, we need to avenge the loss of our candy together right? But I think we should get rid of the overbearingly tall and some what rude, if not arrogant pink wolf who thinks its okay just to pick up strangers like they are some toy." Domino puffed up his chest to stare back at Hairwolf. His eye narrowed again, he's watching you buddy. He also kicked one of the shadowlings to take out some pent up embarrassment.

Hairwolf shrugged. “Who’s to say? I sure do eat a lot of it. It’s like candy.”
He watched as the two pups greeted each other, and happily shook Pyxis’ other extended hand. “Hello, hello Pyxis! Looks like we have quite the skirmish on our hands here. I would gladly accompany you into battle.”
“Or…” he smirked, showing off his long canines, as Domino continued to yip, “I could always put you back there. Those lil dudes sure look hungry. I bet you’re pretty tasty!” He raised his hands in the air like claws, pretending to swipe at the imp with a wicked grin.

"Whaaat?!" he asked, voice airy and faintly aghast. "Nooo, Dominoooo, we have to keep Captain Dog. He can reach where we can't reach and....kibble, aaand...." He wrapped one arm around the taller boil and leaned towards him, as if to doubly insist. Maybe he'd have some better reasons when he actually got to know him. He waited for the other boil's introduction, but didn't seem deterred when it didn't really come.
"Yeah, a skirmish! Neat word! Okay, I'm not really good at punching, but maybe I can help them not eat you." With a very serious face, he looked from one to the other. "I hope one of you is good at punching. I think punching should happen very soon."
Meanwhile, a smaller shadowling had found itself included in the 'things orbiting Pyxis' collection. It reached desperately for another of his candies that it was doomed to never reach, glowing eyes narrowed into a look of concentration.
