There was definitely something to be said for the sheer brute force a monster could put into things should they try. Simply was a case of that. Being the barely civilized thing she was when it came to picking a fight, she has the strength behind her to impress. Which was probably why she was so good at bouncing back from being thrown into things by that hulking behemoth of a boss.
Wee~! But she had things to do and no time to wonder why she was oh so fine. Nope, Projectile as she was now going to be called, was to be checked on. There had been something of a crash apparently and the werefox was bounding along past the boss to find her new friend among some rubble where she'd landed. She did spot the words written on those shorts, but alas. Two and two rarely made four with her, and instead she beamed all the sunshine she could before speaking again as she hopped over to flop down near the reaper. "Oh oh! you wear shorts too! It's always so good to do that with skirts." She quickly chimed, lifting an edge of her own to reveal she had on some fitted little shorts too. You know, because it was a step up from flashing her panties when she jumped around.
"Projectile, that worked. It wasn't happy you know! I think-" She paused, tapping her chin a bit. Obviously this was the most thinking she'd done today. "Maybe we need more force though. Because it still got up. We have to knock it down and hurt it lots and lots." Obvious statements could have been stated to be her new specialty. "Do you think we need another projectile? I should toss two people?" Because directly hitting something wasn't the logical point. No. Throwing your comrades had to be the way. "Or should we just try again?" The look said it was fine, so perhaps that was the idea. A firm nod as she shifted from sitting right besides the fallen Ruth to eye their surroundings like a soldier from over a box that had fallen. "Yep, still trying to kill everyone and everything." Back down she ducked briefly before hopping to her feet and offering an arm to pull the other ghoul up. "I'll get the tables. Let's kill it." As soon as the reaper was up she was off to dart and prepare a bigger ramp to work on speed with this time.
Because the last one wasn't NEARLY impressive enough.

Than didn't know precisely what Yiska had done, but it FELT like pure invigoration. Broad grin once more spreading over his features, the Fae-Hound's tail wagged enthusiastically behind him. "Thankee, Miss!" A grateful whuffle at the ghoul before he once more charged their oversized foe.

Uru stood down, watching as the others fought. It did not appear to do much of anything but devour what it touched. At the same time, it did not appear that the group was making much progress, let alone wearing it down. It was a fruitless effort and they were growing exhausted. He knew when to give up, and this was one of those times to admit it. This creature was too strong for him. Any further attacks would lead to retaliation, and he could only stand so much punishment.
The hellhound stood back, cross his arms, and flattened his ear.

As promised, Pyxis had been keeping an eye on his team. It sure looked rough out there, but their clothing made it easy to spot them in the fray, at least.
Styledog, Champion of Awesome, returned in a less than conventional way. No matter - at least he was back now! The ghost kneeled to smooth his hair again, tucking a stray piece back behind his ear, resembling a florist with an especially fabulous and fluffy arrangement. The second most important thing (or was it the first?) of beating up bad eat-y things was looking good while doing it, after all.
"Hmm..." He scrunched his nose and gave him a once-over. "Okay! All ready for more punches. After you rest." Proud of his companion's accomplishments thus far, he gave him a pat on the nose, avoiding anything that might mess up his hair again.

For such a huge creature, the gigantic shadowling sure gave Yvette the ride of her life as it twisted, turned and shook itself to try to get her off. Not all the teeth or claws she had with her could enable to her to hold on anymore so she attempted to take another chunk out of it... or at least that was her intended plan until the creature finally realized that it could use its hand to grab her and toss her carelessly aside like a child would to a toy he/she was uninterested in.
Flying through the air, she flailed her limbs clumsily, eyes going wide at her impending collision with the ground and nothing to cushion her fall. Not at all sure if it was a wise move on her part, she stretched out an arm to try to soften the impact some, only to instantly regret it as she gave a pained cry from the bone snapping, rolling a couple of times on the ground and then laying very very still, not at all desiring to move anywhere for the moment. Dammit. She was so not going to the Maul to get anything for the next one year. Too much pain...

The ghoul was in a mild daze, maybe a concussion was involved, maybe she was still feeling the lingering effects of having kissed a marlboro on the mouth. Whichever caused it, it wasn't enough to keep her down. So when Simply bounded on over, calling her Projectile (Ruth grinned, liking the sound of that, maybe she ought to get that monogrammed next time) and talking about using a second body, the reaper remembered the group she was with earlier.
She accepted the proffered hand, not bothering to dust herself off in the least before gesturing towards another reaper ghoul. Or rather, Ruth tried to before Simply was already off adjusting the ramps. Thankfully, Ruth spotted Kari in the distance, and rather than yell out, she figured her earlier whistle would be enough to draw the other reaper's attention. And anyone else who heard it.

The oversized shadowling moved once, twice, and then halted, staring straight upwards. It seemed to open its mouth for a second to say something, utter a few strange shrieks and clicks before cracks, thick white cracks started to form along its surface, covering its entire being until...
- It unfurled, long black claws extending outwards first, followed by antennae, legs, a giant hollow heart sigil in the center of its chest. It was like watching something exhale for the first time, watching it create form from emptiness, watching as it towered high, high over everything else, easily engulfing anything in its way.

He turned his attention away from the ghoul frantically looking for a kitty towards Carol, tilting his head at the boil before giving an acknowledging nod. The chaos around them continued to ensue as the waves continued barrage after barrage of the black shadows. Soon the wave cleared out once again and they were met with a relief moment of silence. Just when he thought it couldn't possibly get worse than this, the ground beneath them began to rumble as what seemed to be an obese super version of the little shadow creatures emerged from beneath them. Soon enough, the creature decided to grow itself even bigger than before! With another exasperated sigh, the rabbit boil turned to look back at Carol and the ghoul, "I suggest we search for your cat later when it isn't so chaotic, I'm sure it'll be alright. Right now, we had better help in taking down this thing." he would state bluntly as he began to dash towards the others who were already battered and bruised, all trying their best to fall the giant beast. The only problem was that everyone seemed to be doing their own thing, so some people were left defenseless while others were in their own groups. This wasn't going to work at all, they needed to all work together if they were going to win. Running towards the nearest person, a red panda who seemed to be in a lot of pain, the rabbit cupped his hands together as he began to cast his heal upon her, "You've got the be more careful!" he stated with a rather cold gaze as he turned towards the rest of the group, "Everyone, we need to come up with a better strategy if we all want to take this thing down and get back to shopping! We're too disconnected right now. We need to group up together, healers in back, attackers in front, and defenders take the flanks! I'm in no mood right now to mess around, so let's finish this so I can get home and finish my damn book!"

Taking a deep breath, Kari took inventory of her injuries. The worst ones had to be the decently sized cut going across her stomach and the one on her upper right arm, both partially visible through the gashes in her shirt. The rest were petty cuts, scrapes. and bruises that could be remedied with time. The shirt wouldn't be salvageable though, being cut in two different places.
"I liked this shirt too... don't these things know Pumpkitty brand clothing isn't cheap?", she grumbled to herself.
Her pouting was interrupted by the sound of a sharp whistle. She turned to see Ruth standing by a pile of rubble. Figuring a break was in order, she jogged over to the ghoul to see what she wanted. As Kari got closer to Ruth, she was mildly shocked at how beaten up the the silent ghoul looked.
"Ruth... you... look like you've been keeping yourself busy", she said with a sheepish grin, wondering if the ghoul had anything to do with the debris littering the ground behind her. "Are you... feeling okay? You look like you got dragged around a graveyard a couple times... then slammed into a few gravstones", she asked, unbelieving that someone could cause that kind of damage and come out alive. Kari suppressed the urge to chuckle, knowing full well that she probably looked like she'd been dragged through a briar patch and had no room to talk about others looking roughed up.
"By the way... have you seen Touchstone around? Seems like they just vanished...", Kari finished trying not to grimace, once again pondering the fate of the marlboro.
Before Kari could say more, The monster's shrieking caught her attention. Her blood ran cold as the monster began to change. It began towering even further towards the sky, all the while growing more appendages. As a heart sigil appeared on its chest, Kari couldn't help but take a step backwards.
"You have to be kidding me... we were barely making a dent in it before... and now it went and got stronger?", the ghoul muttered, wide-eyed in disbelief.
Hearing the rallying cry of a rabbit boil, she shook away her hesitation and prepared to fight the beast. Giant or no, it had to go down.
Lunging at the creature, she swung and managed to connect before being thrown off. Kari grunted as she picked herself up off the ground, feel more like a pesky fly that had been swatted more than a fierce warrior.

It got worse! It got worse! HOW DID IT GET WORSE! Uru's teeth clenched tight as he watched in frustration as the shadow that they had difficulty defeating cracked and spewed forth a larger, much more menacing being. This one was larger, wicked, and the aura it seemed to give off was fear inducing.
No one seemed to want to work together. That was fine. But if they were going to get through this, it was going to be on the aid of others. Closing his eyes and extended his will to protect.
The healers must survive tonight. The others were sturdy and strong, but they needed the safety of their friends to keep them going. He was new to town. He'll get another chance.

When Kari asked her about where the others were, she could only shake her head and shrug. With her bat, she gestured all around them, maybe they were here somewhere? Maybe they'd managed to find a way home? Either way, Ruth was still here, still thoroughly enjoying the madness. So when the rallying cry for a plan was made, the reaper only pretended to listen. Why did they need one? Things were going so beautifully to the Paranoia Agent. She got to be a projectile weapon (would hopefully continue to be one!), kiss a marlboro, and now a fellow reaper!
Speaking of which, when a boil went and shielded her, she figured this was the perfect chance to plant a big wet one on Kari's cheek and then quickly skating off to see who else she could help. And by help she meant confuse.
Of course she kept an obscured eye out for Simply. Ruth wanted to do that again!

Ruth may have been looking for Simply while she was arranging tables, but Simply had merely stopped to stare at the thing got bigger. And bigger... and... wow she wanted those claws. Actually, she was quite jealous now. That. THAT WAS ALMOST INTIMIDATING! "NO FAIR!" She quickly darted at the thing as it was swiping at her fellow comrades and friends, a snarl on her face as she charged in.
All one would see was a little ball of pink, blue, and tawny gold as she lunged at the arm of the thing clawing, biting, and essentially doing everything in her tiny power to teach it a lesson. It did get rid of her quickly enough after witha swift rake of it's claws as it sent her packing back to her friends. A bit beaten up, but well enough.
"It's a mean son of a gun!" She called, dusting an arm off and noticing one of her sleeves was ruined. Well forget that. RIP! Off it went revealing a furred and clawed arm. She toyed with it briefly glancing to ensure nothing had cracked in her assault before bouncing to the group. Oh! Healing? They could heal? That. Was. AWESOME. "Oh my gawsh that's so cool! BUT!" One thumb was jerked in the direction of the boss at that point as she glanced between the group. "Seems it gets his attention. Want me to watch it while you get to that instead?" The other wolfy person had done it, she could too! "I'll be the best damned distraction you ever jacking saw!" Perhaps that much cursing at once from a tiny thing like her was going to bit to far, but who knew. "Volunteers?" That grin said she was going to choose people if they didn't choose for her.
