There was a lone staryu who liked to be by itself, it didn't mind being alone but often found it frustrating that it couldn't speak to the other Pokemon. A blip of its crystal in its centre was about the best the poor little thing could do, and most younger Pokemon thought it was just a cute song when it would try to ask it questions. Having no defined gender the little staryu also felt a bit...bitter. While other Pokemon could fall in love with anyone they chooses most stayed away for. The little staryu for it was a strange creature with no mouth, nor eyes...yet it seemed able to sense beings around it....move around utter sounds and generally live.
There were a few other Pokemon similar...magnamite was another one, with no mouth...and yet because it had strange eyes it felt more ....alive than the little staryu. Once a while ago this staryu had other staryu and stormie friends...they use to enjoy each other's company. A lovely melody that they would all sing together in their strange language of sound and blinking crystals. It was a wonderful time for all of them. But soon the elusive starmie would sought out by collectors and staryu's for starting water trainers....the only one left behind was one little staryu, who either was not strong enough, not pretty enough...or whatever reason it could think of was left behind.
This little staryu, so sad to be left alone....silent and alone...didn't try and speak to the stars anymore, it didn't bother to try and hide when humans came past, but no one tried to catch it...some wondered if it was sick. The few who worried about its health would approach..only to have the staryu give a splash into the ocean to escape them.
So sad was this little staryu, it decided to leave its ocean home in order to start a new life. It traveled far and many weary days blurred together. It followed the shoreline until it came to the mouth of a river and decided to travel up it. It was hard moving against the current and the little pokemon was forced to take many breaks. Night came and with the tree's obscuring its view of the moon it was unable to continue forward. Settling up for the evening it hoped by dawn things would start to look better.

Morning came the hungry staryu scavenged for breakfast feasting on what little algae it could find. It was a meager meal, but it was better than nothing. So the staryu moved onwards on its quest to find a new home, away from all the old painful memories...and hopefully to start some fresh new ones.
The day passed as quickly as the previous ones and then it came upon the end of the line...the river was becoming too narrow..too shallow for it to swim in comfortably. It was forced to abandon the water to look for something more perminant for a home. A lake preferably...unfortunately the staryu could only find ...a small town..would it dare to go into town? Risk all those horrible humans? With little else left to lose...it went into town...carefully and slowly.

A star for a staryu
When the rough gets going the going gets rough, and nothing could be closer to this common saying than the poor little staryu's predicament. No home. No family and no water. Having decided to live in the fountain, in the small town for its duration it hid when people approached and fled if people persisted to follow it. Poor little staryu, it wasn't until it heard something beautiful that the little pokemon's spirits rose. What was that..melody?
The little staryu had never heard this sound before, for instruments were a foreign to it, still it was hesitant to leave its little refuge, the fountain in the town had become its temporary home. Slipping out of the fountain it moved in the direction of the sound, as if being lured to it by a jigglypuff's song instead of falling asleep to it. Slipping through the streets the staryu was moving as stealthy as a staryu could manage, considering it was a water Pokemon out of to element.
It wanted for the first time to dance, it was such a lovely melody and it soon discovered the source of it belonging to a young boy playing a piano. Looking up it could see him through the open window, the music coming down to urge the staryu closer. But it was as close as it could get, considering it didn't have wings to fly it was very much stuck to the ground, staring up in longing. The song was so sad, it felt that its heart would break listening to it.
There was nothing left for the staryu in this world, no family ..no home, but it would give up its life if only it could listen to this melody forever. Turning it had decided that despite its fear of being captured it would try and get this young boys attention. Flailing it tried to pick up rocks but it had no fingers....frustrated it flailed more kicking rocks since it could not pick them up and causing just a regular old fuss. The commotion outside did manage to capture the youths attention and the music had stopped as he peered for his second story bay window down, watching the staryu in a rather curious manner.
Panic filled the staryu, it had wanted the boys attention but now that it had it it suddenly wished it hadn't worked. Dashing to and fro the staryu couldn't make units mind on where to go and it heard a chuckle from above it.
"Your silly little staryu,". The boy commented a small smile on his face as he leaned casually on the window sill, "don't move, I'll come give you some food." He managed moving to leave the window and do as promised. The staryu had stopped its flustered movements long enough to grasp what the boy had said to it and it felt its face get hot. The boy was coming down?? !! Another panic attack surged through it and then it turned trying to flee the scene. It managed to get down the driveway when it heard the front door opened..and something bright and sparkling fell from them sky hitting the little staryu and all went black...
