xxxxxxMechanics of the Mentorship Programme

Ideally, the mentorship program would be connected to the cellphone database in some way, making it easy for newbies to access it and find a mentor without having to hear about it from another senshi first. The database would contain a list of mentors who are currently available, as well as a way to contact either Vanadis or the mentor personally. I imagine there'd be a thread for it in the guild, showing both the IC as well as the OOC info of the mentorship program, so everyone can access it and there's no confusion about what's actually written in there.

Joining the mentorship program, either as a mentor or as a senshi looking for guidance (hereafter referred to as a 'student'), would, of course, be totally and completely optional! No-one is forced into it if they don't want to do it - either OOCly or ICly. As well as that, I've tried to keep as many things as possible 'player choice'.

This means that it's up to the owners to decide how they want to do their mentorship and what subjects it covers! For example, one pair could decide that the student really needs help with patrols, and focus almost exclusively on that - another pair can decide to cover a bit of everything, patrols, battles, power signatures, Negaverse and DMC basics, etc. There can be a few suggested lessons for those who are having trouble thinking of something themselves, but all the specifics are up to the two senshi / their players. And that goes for how much RP is involved with the mentorship, as well; some might want to RP it extensively, while others might want to plot it out and handwave it, or do a combination of the two things.

And while mentors are often more experienced senshi, that doesn't mean they're restricted only to Supers and Eternals - any senshi, regardless of stage, can become a mentor, as long as they have working knowledge of what being a senshi means and what it takes.

I imagine that choosing a mentor can go a few ways;

Either,
OOCly: the student's player can contact a mentor's player and set something up amongst themselves and then inform me so I can keep up with who's mentoring who.
ICly: the student can choose a mentor from the list, or ask Vanadis to find someone for them.

or

OOCly: the student's player can come to me and ask for me to decide, either by myself, through some sort of randomizing, etc.
ICly: letting Vanadis match a student with who she thinks they'd work with best or the student choosing by themself.

Possibly the mentors could have differing levels - intermediate, expert and so on - and areas of specialization. A mentor might be best at fighting and have that as their specialization, or they might be a bit more of a 'jack of all trades', etc.

If there's interest enough, there could even be monthly training meetings on the moon, covering different areas of being a senshi, holding demonstrations and answering questions in a large forum - each meeting would have a topic, and each topic could get announced ahead of time in the mentorship program part of the database. (Both OOCly and ICly in the thread in the guild!) Senshi could sign up for being speakers, suggest topics and demonstrations - if there's interest from the knight faction, knights could join as well, both as speakers and listeners! They'd have to sign up in advance and then they could side-along Apparate teleport with an assigned senshi.

This plot is not restricted to teams in any way; you don't have to be in a specific team to join, but being in a team also doesn't prohibit you from joining in any way. I imagine some teams could even use it as an opportunity to scout out new members, too!

I think it could also be a good way of generating RP and plots for people, as well as a way to meet other senshi - and it'd give actual newbies to the shop and to the White Moon faction a good place to start out!

I'd be interested in having Athene involved in this - he pretty much spent his entire senshi stage bumbling around senshidom and is already happy to share what knowledge he has with others (he'd also be happy learning from others in order to be a better senshi) - I could see him being even more so once he hits eternal

I'd like to see about maybe having Ganymede be involved somehow! He started out kind of lame, and honestly he still is not the best and does not like fighting at all, and he has a serious attitude problem sometimes, but he's always been willing to share his thoughts, opinions, and experiences with other people! He's definitely not the person to go to for battle advice, but he's decently knowledgeable about other areas of senshi life (not a pro, but maybe somewhere in the middle). He tries very hard to keep his senshi life and his civilian life separate, so I guess... idk, he could always try to help other people with that. "How to Feel Normal When Your Life is Anything but Normal." XD;;;;

Sailor Hygiea would LOVE to help Vanadis with her training program. She'd totally help other senshi learn how to kick the butts of bad guys [tackling and you!] and how to avoid their stupid monologues of how they're totally right, urg their lies [how to avoid them talking on for ages and you!]

Kailash is probably one of those who needs help, 'cause he's rather fail right now xD;

Flora has always been interested in helping out newbie Senshi! She's been awakened for quite a long time, and has had a lot of experience in fighting! She likes strategizing powers; how they can work together to defeat the enemy. Also has knowledge about the Zodiac Court!

(Aaaand Chronos would be interested in educating new Senshi about the Zodiac Court and the Surrounding |D More of an information guest speaker!)

Kallichore would be interested in helping mentor someone! I just put up her senshi primer so if Vanadis wants to use that to help too, that'd be totally awesome. Kallichore focuses on fighting and intel, but she'd more than happy to help train someone through sparring or education. <3

That'd be wonderful! That's exactly what I wanted the primer to be used for - spreading the word and helping put everyone on the same page. heart
