[name] Asad ; old Arabic for 'lion' (Iranians didn't have surnames until 1919!)
[dob] October 17th, aged 28 years
        [gender] Male
        [height] 5'10"
        [weight] 180lbs

[hair] Raven-wing black, perpetually wavy, in danger of being curly when longer. It's short and mostly swept back -- 'mostly' because it tends to have a mind of its own and curl over his brow. He has a small, well-kept beard on his chin, trimmed short and mostly kept to draw attention to his ever-present smile.
[eyes] From rich earthen brown to a shocking gold; his right eye holds more dark chestnut than his left.
[skin] The rich earthen color of his heritage.

[job] Silk trader; Khan to his Shah (Persian king); Ostad (master craftsman) of his wares, especially the silks.
[likes] Beautiful, rich fabrics, understated jewelry, beautiful women, gourmet food, exotic everything, especially women.
[avoids] Long and boring political debates, actually doing his royal duty, dealing with stuffy individuals (mostly men), fraternizing with people who can't appreciate his wares.
[hobbies] Walking the commoner markets, collecting seemingly worthless handmade trinkets, being generous without it being obvious, traveling.

        [asad]
Asad is almost always good-humored and it shows from his rather vibrant smile that rarely seems to fall from his lips. As a businessman, he's rather level-headed and rational, remarkably shrewd in his dealings which has garnered his place as Khan easily. The man is eerily calm in most any situation, either having an intense death wish or some sort of knowledge that today is not his day to depart the mortal coil. He is not unflappable, however, and when he raises his voice or becomes terse in speaking is when you know you've crawled under his skin. Asad is shamelessly flirtatious and has the money to cushion any long night, though he rarely resorts to coin when he thinks he can get by on his 'good looks' alone. He's also terribly excessive and proper in most dealings with women that aren't of the one-night variety, not above sending gifts to their homes or known place of visitation to woo their favor. The Khan is good for his word and can be relied on in a pinch, though he'll do his best to minimize his cost in the exchange, especially if he has an ulterior motive.

        [history]
Born a third son to a wealthy family that served one of the Seyed (descendant of the Prophet) ensured that Asad would never have a place at the side of the Seyed. The middle of five children, he was neither overly bright in scholarly pursuits nor displayed any remarkable creativity in the ways of art, but as a teenager, showed a shrewd mind for words and political tension. He found audience with the Shah and was assigned as one of his tactical advisors, quickly making a name for himself in how outspoken and daring he was in his address of the King. He was, perhaps, too daring, as his second brother fell mysteriously ill and passed away, a suspect of poison without proof. After the loss of his brother, Asad was even more unhinged, more vigorous and defensive in his ways than offensive, something the Shah took notice of and approved. He became the Shah's ambassador and in his early twenties, left his homeland in the name of the King and barely returned since.

Asad travels under the guise of a silk peddler, surrounded by lavish goods and tended to by servants and associates no matter where in the land he goes. He also handles the removal of unseemly characters in the path of the Shah's good will, making his true motives in any place unknown.
