Welcome to the Galactic Olympics!!
Your one stop thread for all the info you should need to play during this event! Rp Introduction The sheer amount of people collected in the stadium was awe inspiring. The decor was lively and colorful, displaying the flags and regalia of the many groups gathered there. In the center of the stadium a fancy stage was set up awaiting someone to address the masses. Behind that a collection of very familiar princesses and royal faces were gathered, each sitting comfortably as they watched and waited. Knights of many different age, kind, and shape filled the seats of the stadium, the low mummer of their chatter anticipating the official opening of this year's Olympic events. Some were eager to compete for the sheer fun and challenge of it, others hell bent on proving themselves and by proxy their royals, and some still seemed simply happy to have time off to do something other than their usually knightly duties. Whatever their reason or motivation the energy level was high when the microphone finally crackled to life. He was an older knight, easily in his 50's, age and experience clearly and proudly worn on his face. Knight Querquetulana stood for a moment in silence as stern eyes surveyed his surroundings before finally his booming voice sounded throughout the stadium. "Welcome one and all to the XXIV Galactic Olympics." "The organization is happy to have such a large turnout even despite the... issues.. with the official correspondences this year." "We are still tracking down exactly what went wrong with them, but we appreciate the patience and understanding everyone has displayed thus far and apologize for the inconviences it may have caused." Querquetulana had already had days and weeks full of aggravation dealing with the issue. And the fact that they didn't have a full answer for it.. it only frusterated him all the more. His name was on those letters after all, it reflected poorly on him. Luckily the crowd was far enough away to keep any subtle looks from his face unnoticable. "On behalf of this year's host worlds and all of our honored guests I would like to officially kick off this year's events. May you all compete with the honor and sportsmanship that are the symbol of these games and show off the true power and abilities of your knightly brotheren." "We are many people of many different minds and homes, but when we come together amazing things can happen." With a flip of his wrist, the small blade he'd been concealing sliced through a thin ribbon to his left, causing a sudden set of consecutive pops, before banners and finally flakes of colorful confetti began to fall around him and around the stadium as a whole. The first games would start in a couple hours. How the competitors decided to prepare for them though, that was entirely up to them. This thread is where you will post your character's introductions. It also contains all the information and links you should need to play here.

WHAT THE HELL EVEN IS THIS FORUM!!!???!!! scream Quite simply this forum (and all the games and rps in it) are set in the PAST. You do not play your actual shop owned character here. Rather, you play the ancestor or past life version of your character. For this event in particular only knights will be participating. Don't own a knight or even a character at all? That's alright, we've got you covered!! Everyone can play here.RP mini event -
Past life Olympic games! - What you can rp in this forum * People who own knights can rp their actual past lives or ancestors characters competing in the games. (Your character WILL NOT automatically remember these memories. If you do other deep space rps after the fact they may regain bits and pieces of these rps, but do NOT consider these rps as IC knowledge for your character back in the present day) You past life character should be either the same level as your present life character now or lower. You should not rp your character as a higher level. Sorry!On a similar note because these past rps do not actually offer your present life character with any sort of character growth or experience they do not count towards growth requirements. * People who don't own knights can rp a nameless knight from the past (You can choose a civilian name and a planet/princess to be a knight for but you cannot actually claim wonders for these disposables.) The possible choices for you to have a knight from are Mercury, Mars, Earth, Venus, Jupiter, Uranus, Saturn, Neptune, Pluto, Chronos, Cosmos, or Polaris.* Negaverse soliders were knights in the past so they can play too!! Like disposables you can only choose a planet/princess alignment and civilian name though and cannot remember these memories. * These characters will be participating in the Olympic games and ONLY that. They can play at the games or play randomly on the three homeworlds offered up, but there will be NO past rps taking place anywhere else. This isn't a free invitation to play your past character anywhere and everywhere. * Technically, other then the original entrance post you are not required to make any other rp posts in this forum. If you just want to play the OOC games, all the more power to you! You won't be penalized. * If people want to though they're free to rp their characters practicing for sports, chatting with other knights (celebrating for fellow planet mates, smack talking rivals, or whatever you like) We may even give out some extra medals for people who seem to be having fun rping a lot and putting effort into rps.~ All these rps should take place in this forum either as solo posts inside the game threads or as regular rps. Just make sure to tag them as either [Solo] [ORP] or [PRP] if you are creating rps in this forum and make sure you don't accidentally sticky anything. * There will be some small prizes in the end, but this is mostly an event just for having random fun. Participate at all (in games or just rping) and you might get a little something neat at the end.

Well this is fun and all, but how does it affect my characters in present time?
Though this event is set in the past to allow for lots of games and for everyone to be able to participate it still offers some fun stuff that you can do outside of this forum with the character you own in the shop in their present life! All knights currently in the shop received letters like this a little while ago.Quote: It came suddenly, seemingly out of nowhere. The note popped into your hands written in a scrawling handscript and on slightly aged paper. The name and seal of the sender is a foriegn one, you can not remember ever having met or heard of such a person. The contents of the letter is all the more cryptic. Quote: Dear *insert your knight's name here*, This correspondence is being sent to confirm your pressence at the XXIV Galactic Olympics. The princesses and the many people of the galaxy are looking forward to another splendid show of bravery, strength, intellegence, and skill. Please respond with your acceptance as soon as possible. Respectfully yours, Knight Querquetulana They may have mentioned it to some of their senshi friends or other knights. After some discussion and exploration some of the details have been figured out. (You may hand wave this actual rp of finding out from another character or your ancestor/pastlife). In the ancient past knights of the universe gathered once every five years to compete in great games that helped to test and hone their skills. The Olympics were a grand gathering and celebration in which many home worlds actually came together and interacted. Even worlds that disliked each other put aside their differences during the games.
Every five years a set of 3 stars/asteroids/moons were chosen to host a handful of the games. Knights of each princess would compete for prestige and prizes. It was one of the few times that the princesses of the planets could be seen gathering all together in a public forum. It was always a great honor for a planet/home world when their knights brought home the most wins at an Olympic event and lead to huge celebrations.As to why the letters got delivered 1000+ years after they were sent? This is less common knowledge, but basically the message got lost via a black hole or some other space disturbance and are only now being spit out and being delivered accidentally to the ancestors/new life versions of their intended recipients.~~~~~~~ What this means for you and your past life: ~ Knight characters may mention your past life (or ancestor) practicing for or participating in the games (They cannot be winning. Yet)* Knights of the same planet should totally brainstorm together! What games were your planet's specialty? Did the Neptune knights totally rock the water sports? Were Uranus knights total track stars? ~ If a senshi, you may mention a competition having taken place on your planet/star/asteroid/moon. Given the number of celestial objects and the diplomacy of the day one home world didn't generally host events for the Olympics more than once or twice in a full generation, so the excitement/honor of the event would be a VERY big deal. ~ What do your characters think about pulling the Olympics together once more? Is your ancestor insistent on its importance? Do you think it's a waste of time with a war going on? Feel free to do all the rps ever about what your character thinks about this new revelation. If there is a big enough push for it the Olympic games might come back!

Info & Rules! This is your main headquarter for information regarding this event! Most (if not all) important info and links should be present somewhere in this thread. If you have any questions you are free to post them here (in italics please!). 1) This whole event is set in the past. There is chaos out there to fight but the events regarding the war with the Negaverse has yet to happen. Life in the galaxy and on home worlds is thriving! If you are playing with a character you own it is either an ancestor or past life version of your character. 2) This event is unfortunately knight only, with exception to the couple of princesses in attendance (said princesses will not be rping however, all rps will be knight only). However check above in the IC aspects of the event for a few cool things that applies to things you can now do for both senshi and knights in present day solos and rps. 3) Please post in this thread with every character you plan on using with at least one post. This is because you will be keeping track of and tallying all the medals that your character wins in their first post. It is also to help keep track of what type of knight your character is (planet/princess alignment) and their civilian names (or wonders if they are official characters). If you do not own a knight and are creating one for the event you may only use one knight and it will be a PAGE by default. If you own multiple knights you are welcome to post for all of them and collect medals for all of them4) Again. If you are creating a knight for the event you post only with their planet/princess alignment and a civilian name. You cannot claim a wonder for your knight. 5) If you have questions feel free to post them in this thread, but please use OOC brackets (( )). 6) If you would like to rp in this thread more then simply posting your introduction you are free to do so! 7) General shop rules of not god modding, playing nice, and all that stuff apply for this thread and this entire event. 8 ) The medals you are collecting will be traded in at the end for a few small IC or OOC prizes. They are not actually things your present life character would suddenly have. Our three Host worlds!
Wanting to do some rps for fun? Then it'll probably help to know about the places you're rping.
You can rp on any of the three host worlds. If you check the games you can see descriptions of actual sports fields, but here is a quick index of what each homeworld is like in case you want to rp outside the actual game playing! Al Minliar al Asad The sandy desert star of Al Minliar al Asad was not the most hospitable star in the solar system, but it still remained a highly traveled and visited one. The greatest barrier to the population on the star had always been the physical environment. Almost year round the star was plagued by extreme temperatures with days that were hot and baking and nights that could chill to the bone. Water and rain wasn't non present, but it was never in abundance either, making agriculture difficult to produce in any large quantities. Once a year however, for about one week, a special series of storms would bring the desert to life with unique and wonderful flowers, often drawing visitors to see the rare event. It was neither a rich, nor very technologically advanced civilization that resided there, but they were hardly poor hermits either. The majority of the inhabitants in fact were artisans and builders! Using the tools and materials around them they would craft many beautiful things, which was one of the reasons the star was so highly visited. Art, jewelry, furniture, and beautiful housing decor/tools drew people from many places far and wide to trade. Events taking place here - Pole vault, Long jump, Discus/Javelin, Chariot races, Archery Ofeliaguilar It was Ofeliaguilar's environmental versatility and large population that made it this year's host city for all the official ceremonies. The large and populous asteroid was wealthy, with the technology and abundance of resources that made it a common site of tourism and activity. There were both large sprawling cities and tiny tucked away villages depending on what a visitor was looking for. Over half of the asteroid was covered in water, both oceans and fresh water lakes and rivers. Beaches covered in the rocks of ancient sleeping volcanoes bordered lush forests and sprawling grasslands. With a comfortably warm temperature and a frequent breeze Ofeliaguilar was a frequent vacation spot for travelers. Events taking place here - Swimming, Diving, Cycling, Soccer, Polo Zirankexuejijin Zirankexuejijin was not an asteroid that most people knew by name or had heard very much about before it was announced to host the games. The people of the asteroid were fairly self sufficent, well used to making the most of and thriving on their frozen homelands. They had no real need to communicate with the worlds around them, and very few others had any reason to come and visit. Their small population remained tucked away hunting and gathering for their own survival and living their lives as their culture saw fit. The actual asteroid was tiny and constantly covered in snow and ice. The few stretches of flat land were occupied by grazing animals and the settlements of the asteroid's people. Most of the land however was filled instead with hills and peaks, including bluffs that led to nothing more then a long fall into the ravines below. It was an extreme climate and homeworld, one that attracted only hunters seeking strange beasts or adventurous souls looking to challenge themselves. Aria, Page of the Cosmos (Disposable)Aria fiddled about with her small crystal earrings as she waited for the games to begin, the nervous tic brought on by some sudden run-in on her way here. But she had made it here, and for that she was thankful. Looking out over the crowd of other knights gathered, she wondered if she even belonged here. She was but a page, and one who fancied herself to look good. Her planet hopping had brought about quite a few adventures (with other people of course!), which brought about lots and lots of treasures. They were small things - rings, accessories, money - but she appeared far more decadent than many of the others here. Yet, she had wanted to come. Aria had wanted to prove to others, and to herself, that she could be a great knight of the Cosmos - not just some trollop who had sparkles in her hair. Her princess would be so proud~ ... ... if Cosmos even cared about such things. Hrm. Atarah, page of Uranus (Disposable) She'd clapped dutifully as the old knight finished his speech and the confetti flew loose. Honestly she'd never really seen the need for all this showyness, but whatever, it obviously made the crowd happy. She was quite glad that Uranus hadn't been chosen as one of the host worlds; the rowdy crowds would no doubt get the better of wherever they were at, and she had no wish to be the one cleaning up after the masses of people. Isaac, Page of Neptune (Disposable) Isaac clapped loudly, his large hands like cups that created an odd, hollow-sounding noise in celebration of the marvelous speech that had just been given. He was familiar with the layout of these games, having heard countless tales from his father. He himself was a rather unremarkable person, and easily melted into the large crowds of Knights that had gathered for the official opening of the games. His hair was long and chestnut, his face angular and tanned. A good amount of stubble was scattered across his chin and well-meaning blue eyes shined out from the somewhat mischievousness appearing expression he otherwise adopted. This would be fun, he was certain of it. Not only would he get a good game in, but he had been blessed with the opportunity to represent Neptune on an astronomic scale, and he was determined to not let them be underestimated. Neptune were a force to be reckoned with, and together with his fellow Knights Isaac would do the royalty proud. Banging a fist to his chest he gave a cheer, and eagerly awaited the first of what would be many individual tests of his worth. (may make this better later, kinda blarghghg atm ;; )

Keelut, Page of Polaris (Disposable) Keelut smiled, it had been a long and hot day for her. She wasn't use to such temperature that the host offer. She preferred the cold, winter days that Polaris had to offer but she couldn't complain because she was the only one out her rather large family that could take place in this. Even just being a page was a big accomplishment in her family. She was ready, she just new it. She didn't care if it took everything out her but she wanted to come home with just one medal even it was a bronze instead of a gold, she knew her family would be proud of anything she did and she hope she could make this possible. She looked around looking at all the knight and smile. It was nice to have them all her playing in the games. But she was ready to beat them also. She just hoped that she could prove herself. Elis, a (disposable) Page of JupiterHe had confetti in his mouth. This was likely due to the fact that Elis had spent much of the opening ceremony gawping at everything, his mouth hanging open quite a bit wider than was really necessary as his eyes flitted back and forth and around and around, his head swiveling fast on his neck to examine as many of the surrounding people in as short a period of time as he possibly could, trying to take in everything at once. He was only a few months on the job and therefore this was his first Olympics as a page of Jupiter, but already he was excited for the games to commence, awaiting his chance to compete for the honor and glory of his new home—and maybe impress the princess along the way. Elis clapped enthusiastically even before the knight on stage had finished talking, and then spluttered when a few pieces of confetti became acquainted with his tongue. Pausing in his exuberant celebration, the page plucked the pieces out and flicked them toward the ground, making an effort to close his mouth now that his gaping had been made aware to him. (How undignified!) The rest of the confetti he left to collect in his shaggy caramel hair or dot the shoulders of his pink-trimmed green tunic with added color. He did the remainder of his celebrating by bouncing on the balls of his feet and whooping in hollering like a maniac, without too much of a care for how he looked to either their company or his Jovian companions. Solveig, Page of Jupiter (Disposable)
If ever there was an occassion for celebration, surely it had to be this one. A culmination of the universe's finest? They ought to toast to that. A celebration of skill and talent? Should toast to that, too. And probably should feast.
But Solveig was already ahead of them in that aspect; he had been sneaking edibles since well before anything official happened today. He'd call it nerves, or the need to keep his hands busy--but anyone who knew the man would know he just liked food. And why shouldn't he? The most delectable, sustaining substance on all the worlds? Oh, Solveig was a firm believer in all things tasteful. His love for food did not inhibit his love for adventure and challenge, however--and while he let would let out a bellowing cheer for any worthy event, he did not forget that he was here for the glory of Jupiter.
And Solveig--if he had anything to say about it--was certain he had a lot to offer.
He was not as young as most pages he'd seen, and though he was of average height, he made up for in it build. He was a combination of round and sculpted; he was a strong man, just one who also loved his food. A charming fellow, he was not one whose arms you wanted wrapped around you. A) because he squeezed like a monster, and B) often times there were small morsels of food caught in his manly beard and finely combed moustache.
But he wasn't an unfriendly sort; He'd share if you asked nicely .

Nysa, Squire of Neptune (Ancestor) The Squire, Nysa, clapped politely as ever at the speech just given. It was honestly what he felt was a generic speech meant to get everyone excited. He was not the sort to buy into the hype and was able to keep a level head upon his shoulders. As a result, he would maintain his dignity by only clapping. It was unfortunate that his wife and infant son were on Earth, unable to watch as Nysa participated in the games in an effort to make his Princess proud. However, he knew the next time he took leave, he would be able to tell his wife the tales, seeing as she was an eager audience for any tales he had of his duties. His son would have to wait a few years to hear the tales, only because infants did not seem to grasp onto stories nearly as well. After a good clap, the young brown-eyed man reached into his jacket and pulled out a small cloth. The other hand pulled his monocle from its resting place in front of his eye and he was soon enough cleaning the lens. It wouldn't do to start the games with a dirty monocle, now would it? The hooting and hollering he could hear tempted him to shake his head from side to side, but he refrained. Oeone, Page of Mercury (Disposable)Oeone had decided that she didn't like confetti. Nor was she terribly fond of the sensation of the stuff managing to fly into her ears and up her nose. Sighing softly, she continued to applaud the man who was speaking, but her heart wasn't in it. Oh, certainly it was a great honor to be here, to see the Princess Mercury in the stands watching and to know that such a graceful lady was cheering for her. But that knowledge did not erase the fact that, well, the young page preferred actually doing things as opposed to standing around with a look of vaguely polite interest plastered across her face. Still, once all the talking and confetti tossing was done, they'd finally be able to move. And once she got moving, Oeone had no intentions of stopping until she made her Princess proud.
