Name: Amity Age: 1 year Gender: Female DOB: May 23rd, 2015 Text Color: Firebrick
Stage: Frei Essence: Bleeding Bark Soul: Grey-Headed Flying Fox Alignment: Neutral Good Rune: Tiwaz ᛏ
Appearance:
Personality:
Food Source: Primary Living tree bark, mostly absorbed through the hands but can also be eaten (mainly with twigs)
Secondary Fresh fruit and fruit juice, cannot have any additives or other ingredients (with the exception of cinnamon), and is only good for day to day energy
Powers: Bark Band-aid (Passive) When Amity is injured, her body works quickly to scab over the area with bark and prevent any further damage. As a result, the frei can manage what would usually be severe flesh wounds without much issue (broken bones and sprains, unfortunately, have to heal normally). The healing process is far from instantaneous however - wounds take nearly as long to heal as they would other wise, and the bark scab remains for the entire healing process. Additionally, maintaining the scab takes quite a bit of energy, requiring more frequent feeding. Even so, reduced pain, a lower chance of infection, and near normal activity levels are just some of the benefits to this method of healing.
Bark Armor (Active/Passive) If Amity is in danger or simply wishes to give herself more protection, she can generate a layer of protective bark for her skin. The method behind this is very similar to her natural bark scabbing, but instead is brought on voluntarily and can be made thick or thin as she desires, or even isolated to certain parts of her body. As with the scab however making the armor is very energy intensive as it is made directly out of her blood, and so the most practical way to create the armor is to do so while feeding. Once made the armor will remain without conscious maintenance, eventually shedding after several days or being intentionally absorbed back into the skin before this point. Additionally, Amity has an unconscious "library" of bark types - if she's fed from it before, she can create it on her skin.
Bark Extensions(Active) Once Amity has brought bark to her skin, with additional energy she can change its shape and have it do more than follow her natural form. The more complex the shape the more time and energy it will take to make, but with this abilities she can make things such as claws, club arms, or even spikes along her limbs. With practice Amity will even be able to create these unnatural shapes without bark on her skin before hand, allowing a lower overall energy cost.
Traits: Enhanced Senses Like the flying fox that is her soul Amity has sight and smell better than that of the human average, her eyesight also functioning particularly well in twilight. In comparison her hearing is fairly normal, as flying foxes are not among the bats that echolocate.
Dexterous Wings While not as precise or strong, the frei is able to use her wings almost like a second pair of arms when needed. She is also able to grip with the "thumb" and "forefinger" on each wing, potentially enabling simple tasks after sufficient practice.
Stats: Strength 31 Beneath Amity's lithe frame lies well defined muscle, allowing her to achieve impressive feats of strength. Whether it is climbing trees, flying hard, or lifting heavy objects this frei often has it covered. Needless to say, someone probably wouldn't want to be on the other side of a punch.
Friendliness 28 All in all, Amity loves meeting people and being friends with others. While not necessarily a social butterfly she has no problems striking up random conversations, often doing her best to assume the best in others. To her, being kind is natural.
Humor 27 Continuing off her general friendliness, Amity loves the positive and happy vibe that can come with some humor. The frei isn't usually one to be a downer and she especially enjoys well meaning fun, silliness, and, god forbid, puns.
Intelligence 26 Amity may not be a genius but she has a good head on her shoulders, picking up both reading and basic knowledge at a healthy pace. More complex subjects take a good amount of effort, but with enough time and work she can get there.
Magic 26 Even though it is not overly flashy or powerful, Amity's magic is fairly reliable and serves her well when she needs it. It can have a high energy cost, and this can keep her from using it at times, but otherwise it is without hiccups and misfires.
Creativity 24 Most of Amity's creative preferences lie in consumption rather than personal creation. That isn't to say attempts aren't made, and her imagination is definitely still active, but most of the time she simply falls into playing off of what she already loves.
Endurance 23 While not necessarily fragile, the frei's endurance is only average, if not slightly below average. Coupled with her strength and active personality this often leads to her working hard then crashing afterwards, needing time to recuperate before going out and taking on the world once again.
Charisma 18 Amity is, to put it mildly, loud. "Indoor voice" is something she has trouble remembering, and it's not uncommon for her to realize she's overdoing it until a few seconds too late. Luckily she often adjusts things properly once she recognizes the mistake, but with her personality it keeps happening, and she can also end up a bit blunt at times.

Grey-Headed Flying Fox
The flying fox looks very much like the canine creature for which it is named. The grey head is visible, along with its long snout and large eyes, even when the animal’s large black wings are wrapped around its body. Below the grey head, this flying fox displays a wide collar of golden-orange fur.
Grey-headed flying foxes live in and around the rain forests of northeastern Australia. They live in large colonies that can contain up to a million individuals, and the colony sizes keep increasing as their habitat is destroyed, limiting roosting sites.
The flight, or rather landing, of these creatures causes quite a spectacle, with a noise to match. Although they are very graceful flyers, flying foxes seem not to have perfected their landing technique: the fruit bats often simply fly until they hit something, or crash into trees in order to stop themselves.
These bats feed on the blossoms and fruit of fruit trees, and play an important role in the local ecosystem. By feasting on the fruit of many different species of trees in their environment, the cross-pollination that occurs through the bats’ excretion of seeds enables the fruit trees to reproduce.

Bleeding Bark
Tree sap is fluid transported by the xylem cells of a tree. Some believe that they are the tree's 'blood'. They vary in different hues of yellow and orange, sometimes even to an eerie red color. However, the red fluid found on this tree bark was an even more darker, richer crimson. The even more alarming fact is that it was not tree sap at all, but blood! Kyou had double and triple checked that the tree was indeed just a regular tree, and not a dryad or some ancient tree creature. The old oak was ancient, but it was just a normal tree. It was also found that the bleeding was only contained on one particular area, so it was removed and preserved. The eerie thing is, even after it was peeled off the tree, the bark continues to bleed.

Name: Ronan Shea Age: 38 Gender: Male Race: Selkie Occupation: Worker at the Gambino Aquarium Residence: Isle De Gambino
Appearance: Ronan has medium length tawny brown hair, hazel eyes, and is 5'11". A network of scars, lean muscles, and tanned skin are a testament to his time in the navy, along with a small goatee. Most of his clothes are nice but practical, including a long pea coat for colder weather. Casual wear is often jeans with simple shirts (such as solid color button ups), or shirtless if on the beach. (Note: Has a more prominent scar on his right forearm as a result of the 2013 jungle trek.)
Personality: **Getting down rough bullet points for now, will polish later** Fairly grounded, willing to work hard, sees it as a way to clear his head and legitimately enjoyable depending on the task (happy with his own job, for example). Overly helpful at times, can find it hard to butt out when he's convinced someone needs help (will do it, but somewhat grumpily).
Those he cares about are his current top priority, feels guilty for not being there for Maili enough when she was younger and is currently working overtime to try and make up for it, also feels somewhat awkward about his family back at sea but tries to keep up to date with things none the less. Can get really homesick for the ocean at times, manages this with frequent swimming (and occasional deep dives when it's really bad) though can end up cranky when it's too cold/dangerous to swim in the ocean since he hates chlorine pools with a passion. Often ends up living vicariously through the aquarium during the winter, and is okay with bodies of fresh water and salt water pools. Is a rare morning person (probably because he can manage to sleep like the dead even when he gets to bed late), feels stiff and grumpy if he gets up too late. With traumatic/upsetting things has a tendency to address the problem if he can, get upset in the moment, then shove it behind him and do his best to not dwell on it. This helps him get past stuff quickly but can be unhealthy with stuff that he does need to look back on and address.
Hates being manipulated/taken advantage of, one of the few things that can get him to hate a person on the drop of a hat, might be willing to forgive if there was a good reason but it would be hard. Can be a super dork at times, for example his foot coordination only goes up to very basic dancing and running outside of swimming, other than that he's abysmal - never try to get him to play soccer, ice skate, or ride a bike. He can't drive either. Doesn't feel ashamed of his interests, if he likes it he likes it, and can be fairly chill about doing silly things (there's a picture of him and Connor wearing tiaras because Maili wanted to blackmail them, too bad it backfired).
Likes: Seafood, long swims, beautiful mornings, high quality hair care products, spending time with friends and family Dislikes: Orcas, chlorine pools, walking on ice, Spongebob Squarepants, overly spicy or processed foods
History: Ronan enjoyed a simple and happy life as a seal, but it came to a halt when a trip ashore to “woo the ladies” resulted in the loss of his sealskin. To cope he joined the Gaian navy at 18, a place that would keep him close to the sea. Over time he came to appreciate his human life and even became close friends with his cabin mate. At the age of twenty-five, Ronan discovered that his sister had been the victim of a kidnapping. She escaped, but left behind a newborn daughter. Ronan took in the girl, naming her Maili. Five years of care while still in the navy and things not working, he decided to retire. As a parting gift his friend gave him something found years before - Ronan’s sealskin. The selkie kept the skin for a day, almost going back to sea, but instead he returned it to his cabin mate and explained the situation to the shocked man. While he would always love the sea, he had grown to care for life on land and wanted to be there for his friends and niece. The pair settled into their new life on Gambino, Ronan soon picking up a job at the local aquarium. His knowledge as a selkie proved invaluable and it wasn’t long before he became a top employee. For a couple years Ronan also watched over a teenage selkie named Kris who now visits from college during breaks.
