---- non-chosen
name aufidius marks age 21 [born 1777]. chosen age n/a. gender male. occupation struggling actor/singer. hometown
height 5'11" weight 145 lb. physical attributes short brunette hair; usually windswept | clean-shaven | hooded electric blue eyes oval face; prominent cheekbones, sloping jaw | round eyebrows sloping downward at the ends | sharp, upturned nose lanky; long of limb and slender of body | ??? | ???
Orphaned at a young age, Aufidius grew up under the care of an innkeeper of her husband. He was never named by his birth parents and was referred to as Sonny while growing up.
At the inn, he found his first job singing to the guests, and at 13, he set out to make a name for himself as an actor, changing his name to Aufidius Marks and wandering the land in search of a gig.
Recently, Aufidius has attached himself to Patrek Falconer, a soldier he found in Oldcastle recovering from wounds sustained during an ambush along the Kingsroad.
Lowborn as they come and irreverent, Aufidius Marks is an actor who has taken to singing for a living. Though his voice is only average and his songs only mostly in tune, he has a penchant for bawdy lyrics and outrageously rewritten plot lines that tend to win him the favor of his audiences. Possessed of an easy charm and flashing smile, Aufidius is a largely likable fellow, and can sometimes manage to talk himself into a free meal or an unwitting lady's bed.
He is flirtatious and flamboyant and loves nothing more than flaunting his ability to pluck strings and his fortunate good looks, for men and women alike. He likes to flatter and be flattered, engaging easily in coy games of back-and-forth compliments, no matter the other's class or response.
It is a strange sort of courage that likely comes from his being rarely sober. Aufidius has a particular taste for wine, though ale will usually suffice. This is a man who can hardly be found with coins in his pocket, though his wine flask is somehow always full.
He has no problems making a fool of himself, both for his own entertainment and that of others. He believes firmly that laughter is food for the soul, and insists on facing the world with cheek and humor, even at his own expense. Life for Aufidius is but a great big stage and what better to do than simply play?
