The Chosen Name: Gabriel Sniegowski Nickname: Gabe Gender: Male Age: 12 Occupation: Never Homeland: Poland-equivalent... name soon! Residence: Western Palisade; living in an abandoned building AppearanceLooking very much the part of a street urchin, Gabe's small and thin for his age, but no one could mistake him for sickly and weak. Constantly fidgeting, he's got a wide grin missing more than a few teeth and his bright blue eye gleams with an almost manic mischief—and it's only ever one eye he reveals, when he bothers to push back the wild mop of black hair from his smudged face. His clothes are ragged, scavenged things, perhaps the only clean thing on Gabe being a blue bow he wears around his neck. Say, it's just like his Guardian's bow, but without the bell! If you'd ask Gabe, he'd tell you, he has to be the sneaky one... but he needs to know when Snowy's coming so he can escape a scolding.
PersonalityAnd Gabriel gives his Guardian a lot to bleat about. Despite being the oldest of his ragtag ragamuffins at a very respectable 12 years of age, at times, Gabe can be the most immature. Impulsive and fearless, he does what he can to survive and then some. He loves to steal and takes whatever catches his attention, be it practical or not, and in fact it's often not. "The harder to get, the better to have," that's his philosophy, right after "adults are never to be trusted" and there's the odd thing about Gabe, he seems to hold a deep grudge against adults. If stealing is a game to him, his vandalism and pranks are pure spite.
Despite his love of laughter, Gabe can be a surprisingly malicious little fellow. He's been called brat, mongrel, monster, and really he'll take any of that with a cackle, better than being an adult! He's earned those names for his wild nature when cornered or feeling threatened and would rather go down fighting than admitting his guilt or giving back anything he's taken, a point of pride to him and something he tries to impress on his friends. They, at least, are usually safe from his rages, as he's more protective and even affectionate with his fellow strays. Still, Gabe is theatrical, and can sometimes be overbearing with his whole "leader" position in the gang and his more mean-spirited nature.
Gabe wouldn't consider what he does mean, though, not to adults who always deserve it. With other kids, he is at least more likely to feel some regret should he hurt a fellow friend or mess up, but it's still hard for him to own up to his mistakes. One might guess his biggest fear is to grow up, and that's a very good guess, in fact a huge fear for Gabe!, but in actuality, his biggest fear is being alone. If he senses a friend might be drifting from him or feeling sore against him, he'll get scared. It's not scary when adults are mad or when the future is uncertain; for Gabriel, it's scariest when he thinks he might lose someone. Then, a rare glimpse of his truly penitent side might show. HistorySo what tragedy could have possibly driven this young boy from his home and onto the streets? Not so much tragedy, Gabriel simply explains his family was so large he figured no one would notice if one Sniegowski slipped away and that's exactly what he did, true to his reckless nature. No one's seemingly noticed his disappearance yet, which suits him just fine, as he's been surviving in Palisade for three years now. He's had some help, of course, mumbling a few names but mostly crediting it to the Guardian that emerged soon after he left his home and anyway, he's building his own empire now! He doesn't owe anyone anything, and he's found a much better family, where he has no responsibilities and is an individual.
CurrentlyScampering about western Palisade, truly living the life, Gabe may not know a thing about Wardens but he does know that Snowbell is his best friend. Oh, and his fellow orphans, of course. He can have more than one best friend, right? Miscellaneous

The Details Poland-Equivalentonce i get a name, words about that country heeeere The GangRather loose for a gang, the scattered runaways of Palisade don't always run with each other. It'd be too unwieldy, after all, so it's more like an agreement between the kids to watch each others' backs and help each other out should they need it. As leader, Gabe takes it upon himself to keep in contact with the others and even offers the abandoned, rundown building he lives in as shelter and headquarters for the others. To be honest, he would prefer a more tight-knit pack, but as it is he's just glad to know he has friends. He's always willing to take other kids in, only kids, with or without Guardians. The fact that Gabe's current gang is made up of Chosen is not lost on him. Though he doesn't know about the whole Warden deal, he's convinced it's very significant that they should all converge like this. Clearly they were meant to overthrow the deerless, adult regime!
