The Sound of Music
The wind took her upon birth. Drawing her away from the mountain who kept her safe and taking her to lands far off. That wind, she learned to love. It wasn’t because of the adventures it took her on, no. It was because of the sounds it made when it passed between her feathers as she soared through the air. A sound that was beautiful. Ismire knew this sound as music. It may not be the most beautiful sound to others, but the sound of crystal chiming in the wind like bells from a church was beautiful to her. This kept her flying just to hear the music she made. She flew and flew until she found a place where crystal snow fell freely around her and the sounds it made was so pleasant to the ears. Here, she didn’t need to fly just make music that she loved. Here, she could simply lie and listen. Sometimes, she would join her voice with the bells.
It was in this land that she built her home. Creating a home of ice and snow that lay nestled on a mountain top. She’d rest there at night, leaving the top of her home open so that she could admire the night sky. Everything of nature just seemed so wondrous it made her want to sing. She’d sing herself to sleep as her voice wavered into the midnight air. She’d hum herself awake as the sky turned light with the rising sun. The world was perfect and in harmony. What could make this simple life better?

Bells and Singers
Her eyes flickered to the scene below her, searching out for anything out of the ordinary. The song was fading faster. Its vigor slowly dying out yet it seemed she was drawing closer. It seemed a little louder than before. Perhaps the musician was somewhere close. Ismire dove to the surface for a closer look. As her claws grasped the surface, the music quickly came to a halt. She froze unsure of what to do next. The first thought in mind was to call out once more. As she craned her head to get a better look around, she released another low and long note.
The music started again, a long drag of a note before suddenly dying out. Ismire was panicked, but she was sure the sound came from an area near one the side of the path she had landed on. The path, she had found over time, wounded through the peaks of the mountain towards the land she had come from. A land she was, in a way, curious about. As she edged closer to see a shallow cave hidden beneath the bushes and brambles, she found a creature curled up within. It was an odd creature, one her mind recognized as something called humans and a female one by the looks. Ismire dipped her neck into the carved out side of the mountain and lightly pressed her beak to the side of the human. The woman’s long dark hair fell over the Articuno’s beak as she nudged the human awake.
The woman stirred and turned to face the legendary Pokemon, a soft smile curled on her lips as a small chime echoed in the hollow. “Hello, little bird.” whispered the human, her voice was beautiful and Ismire knew she would treasure the memory of it. “Have you come to hear me perform?”
The Articuno gazed down at her with confusion. She didn't understand what she meant by perform, but she knew that the woman would die if she stayed here any longer. She nudged the human again and whimpered softly. “You will die if you stay here.” The woman caught hold of the legendary Pokemon's head and lifted herself up on to her two feet.
“Come, come. Don't be shy! Mami is here to perform!” She spread her arms weakly and tottered around before letting loose a long and low note. It quivered as she collapsed once more, bell chiming again as she fell onto Ismire's head. She fluttered her wings in frustration. The human female was out of her wits and it worried her deeply. She had little experiences with other Pokemon let alone any humans though she was quite sure this wasn't a normal reaction.
“You humans need warmth...” She plucked the woman up in her claws giving herself some room, Ismire took off. The memories of warmth were vague. It was a long while since she had felt it. Though the memories of her flight to her new home was easily dredged up. The memory seemed like it was ingrained to her muscles. She flew as steady and swiftly as she could being mindful of her passenger.
For the most part, Mami remained deeply asleep. It took very little time before she reached the edge of her snowy home. Now that she was bigger and much more adept with flying, the journey was easier. As soon as it felt uncomfortably warm for her, she touched down. Gently, she placed Mami on a bed of moss. She waited for the woman to awaken and when the woman did, Ismire was greeted with a smile.
“Thank you, Little Bird.” Mami patted Ismire's head. “You sang to me didn't you?” The woman straightened her body out, wrapping the cloak she wore tighter around her. “That voice that kept calling out to me just when I was ready to give up?”
Ismire blushed and nodded her head. “I could not let a beautiful song die. I'm really glad you're alive!' She bowed her head in respects to the woman before her.
The woman was impressed with gracefully the Articuno moved for being such a big creature. Mami petted Ismire's head. “And what is the name of savior? I would warm my bones to hear your name spoken before we sing our duet.”
She puffed out her chest as she heard Mami's words. A duet with a human female. The idea sounded marvelous. “Ismire. My name is Ismire. It was a pleasure to save you, Mami.”
Mami played with the clasp to the bell necklace that she wore around her neck as she tried to remove it. It took her a while, but she had managed and when she did, she reached up and clasped it around Ismire's neck. “A gift to remember this moment by.” Taking a step back, Mami took a deep breath. “Now, let's have a duet.”
Mami started it with a high note which easily harmonized with Ismire's low. Their voices rose to the heaven's joined together in perfect harmony. It was then that she knew what she was missing as their voices joined together... friends.

A Star Was Found She climbed now. Ascending slowly towards the peak she'd seen the stone fall. It lead a bright trail of light and stardust across the sky as it crashed into the mountain's grasp. What was an Articuno to do? A strange object has fallen into her realm. Should she investigate it? Of course! What else was a legendary to do if she couldn't at least care for the land she inhabited and make sure that nothing harmful has entered it? Though as worried as she was about what had landed, she was more so worried about those who might have been around the impact zone. Her heart was thudding madly in her chest with both curiosity and worry.
Out of sync with her beating heart, her wings brought her up at a slow pace. She had to be careful during times like this. If she'd take off in devil may care fashion, she was likely to hurt an unsuspecting passerby with a blizzard they'd probably never experienced before. Her eyes flickered from below her to the skies ahead where the peak appeared from beyond gray clouds. She noted the crowd that gathered around the top, leaving her enough room to land gracefully between snovers.
They backed away, careful to not trip over themselves. Soft whispered amongst each other slowly diminished into hushed silence. What laid before her left her baffled and speechless. It was a sight to behold, a once in a lifetime spectacle that in it's rights deserved more than just laying up on the peek of a mountain. It was a dream condensed into one tiny fragment. A wish crammed into a small, easy to carry piece. It was a star and it was glorious. They were all standing here basking the radiance of a star. This was surely a gift of some kind, but to what ends? She'd heard tale of stars like this gifted by a certain legendary, but to see it up close, Ismire could hardly believe it.
She drew closer to the stone and as she did so, a voice called to her. “What do you wish for?”
Ismire paused for a moment, tilting her head quizzically. She craned her head closer to have a closer look at the star. “Hello?” she murmured, unsure of where the voice was from. She was certain now that this was indeed a special star. Surprised to find such a thing, Ismire wanted to draw closer to it and find out more about and where this voice was coming from.
The voice called out once more. “What is it that your heart desires?”
This time Ismire stopped in her tracks. The question had put her mind to wonder. What is it that her heart truly desires? With the tip of her wing, she gently tapped the bell around her neck to allow it's tones to soothe her mind and heart. She was too excited. So much so that she couldn't think straight. What is that wishes for with all her heart? Pausing to think, Ismire didn't notice the snovers beyond the light, leaning in to hear her wish. Giving a click of her beak as she drew out of thought, Ismire knew what she wanted.
“I want to experience what the others have. Ho and Eilam. They seem so happy with their lives and Ho had even fallen in love. I would like to experience life in a different way. See the world in a different way and listen to the new music of life beyond my mountain home... perhaps that's too much.” she muttered, feeling her body sag with the weight of her heartfelt wish. “I know I can't leave the mountain, but to find love and foster more friendships like those two did... I want that. I'm not just a legendary bird. I'm more than an Articuno. I am Ismire and I wish to be – free.”
The light that radiated from the star seemed to double over as the voice sweetly sang back to her, “As you wish.”
Engulfed by the light, Ismire found her world of white was slowly fading. In time, her world begun to fade to black and all that was left for her to hear was the twinkling sound of snow falling all around her. It was a pleasant sound. One that was always like a lullaby for her. It clicked and clanged and chimed until she was no longer aware of the song. Until a whole new symphony of music took over and the dreamworld was her net destination.

The Dawn of A New Day 663 Ismire awoke to the burn of ice in her lungs; Gasping loudly as she took in a hardy breath of frosty air. Gasping and coughing, she rolled off her wings and arched her back. The air was a shock bringing her attention back to the here and now, far from the land of dreams. Once more, the music of the land called to her, humming soft and sweet tunes into her ears. Blinking, Ismire stumbled onto her feet feeling off balance as her legs shaked and quaked unsteadily. Her eyes flickered for a moment to her lower half only to stop her painful intake of air. She was in shock. With eyes widening, the Articuno gazed down at her form. Feeling startled at first, she eventually calmed realizing similarity in situations to those of her dearest friends.
She stretched out her being, tip-toeing to the heavens as she fluttered her wings. They were smaller than they once were, but that's alright. She had become smaller as well. So many curious things to study and see, so many things to feel and do. The articuno female couldn't stand the wait any longer.
Taking a running start, she charged off the edge of the peak, skimming along mountain's surface, dodging jutting rocks and trees alike. Ismire enjoyed her new body, missing the old, but accepting the new. It was small versatile and easy to managed through smaller spaces. The squeal of surprised Snovers resounded in her ears as she dove passed them, calling out an apology to them as she hurled through the air at top speed. Barrel rolling, loop de loops, rising high above the clouds only to plummet back down to earth. She just couldn't stop. Ismire was truly overjoyed and she felt so free.
She slowed her descent, angling herself for landing. She barreled into the snow, rolling across the soft fluff of the newly fallen flakes, laughter escaping her lips. Hair sprawled across the ground as she stretched over the cold earth. A downpour of snow was left in her wake. The ring of her bell resounded throughout the mountain passes, singing a joyful tune through the air before fading. This was the most alive she'd felt in so long. Everything felt so new. The stars, rotating in the sky for eons now seemed to twinkle with new vigor as the snow that fell around her seem chillier than usual and more pleasant to the touch. Her senses were different now, but yet it was the same. The adrenaline from her transformation and flight still ran through her body. She could lay still any longer.
Crawling out from the spot she laid in, Ismire took off. Using her wings to balance out her shakey legs, she ran through the thickening snow while dodging through trees and rock spires as they came along. Her laughter echoed between the trees as she spread her arms wide to catch the full force of the chilling winter breeze. It burnt her nose pleasantly, the coolness hitting her throat and flooding her lungs. She twirled around and around, bared feet with curling toes danced circles in the snow. Dancing and dancing beneath the moonlight, her voice adding to the music of life once more. It was higher, a little more squeaky and almost untrained sounding. It bothered her a little, but she assumed that was the price one must pay for wishes. Not everything would remain the same.
Ismire kept on singing anyways, regardless of how off key she sounded or how much her throat ached. She didn't stop even when her voice was joined by others. The others that lived on this mountain with her joined her with her song of joy and together their voices reached the heavens and reverberated throughout the land as a greeting to the coming dawn. A new day approached, one with endless possibilities as she sailed on in this world where dreams and wishes could come true.

Relearning Old Tricks : Gust 603
Tufts of feathers rained down around Ismire as she crashed into a pillow of snow. She huffed, silently to herself feeling weary from the day. Her body ached – wings especially-- from the harsh day of training. Summer was upon them and winter was coming around the corner yet she couldn't create a blizzard. What would happen if she couldn't freeze the mountain? How would her poor cold loving friends deal with a mountain that will eventually lose it's chill? She sat up and stared off into the distance. “I wonder what Enoch would do. He's always so together.” sighed Ismire. “Or Eilam and Lucy. How I miss and need you all at times.”
She frowned until it felt as if the expression was slowly being etched permanently into her flesh. Only then did she fly herself backwards into the snow and growled, “Ugh! These things were so easy before. What's wrong with me? I don't like being a child.” Her wings ached so. Ismire rolled over to her stomach to take the weight of the delicate pieces of her. She howled to the wind with frustration. It wasn't normal for her to be so riled up, but she'd never encountered this problem before. Why couldn't she cause blizzards? The very thing that was second nature to her. Was it because she was smaller now? Or not as powerful as she was before?
She flapped her wings and admired the small fractals of ice that flowed around her. How tiny they were and yet the managed to cover a single mountain, she mused, so tiny.
It was then that it hit her. Something so tiny could one day grow into something large and immense if given the proper time to build itself up. She laughed to herself then, out loud and cheerful. “Oh, how I am a fool. How could I have forgotten?”
The child pushed herself up and dusted herself free of the snow. “I'll just start from the beginning. Lets see.” She thought to herself long and hard of the most of basic of basic moves that attribute to making a blizzard happen. “Wind, wind. Do I just flap my wings? Was that how it works? Hm..” She gave her wings a small flap and watched as snow flicked down from her being. “Not quite the effects I was looking for. Perhaps more wind? Hm..”
She flapped a little harder, sending the ice floating away from her. It was an exhilarating feeling. She shook with excitement as well as exhaustion. “Hm. Better. Perhaps I need more umph!” Ismire pumped her wings, moving them in a flurry. She managed to kick up a small whirl of wind that sent most of the snow around her flying. “Oh! I did it!”
“One more just in case the last was a fluke!” She repeated the process once more, feeling the wind whip around her. “Yes!” she breathed, exhaling a sigh of content. Her heart was thudding away her chest with the rush of adrenaline. Relearning old tricks was going to be a long road, but with this pace, maybe she could relearn it all before she turns into an old maid. “This feels right. Step one is to relearning my old tricks. Completed.”
With that, her body stiffened and she collapsed from pure exhaustion. The ground was soft and comfortable as it should be and as she liked it to be. “This... this is good.” Ismire smiled before curling up to a nice frosty nap.

The Feeling of Fear 1059
It was dark, almost pitch if not for the sliver of moonlight casting a faint glow on the world outside. The evening chill surrounded Ismire and she breathed deep, the stringing air enjoying each breath. She'd come to savor these evenings to herself with nothing, but her thoughts to keep her company. Here without the fuss of her butler or the worries that stem from her charge, she's free to think of her life and what lies ahead. She mused beneath the endless expanse of stars while listening to the music of the night. She always loved the song of the nature even more so when the Snovers join in. The gentle clinking of snow coupled with the soft murmur of wind through the branches of trees. It all brought peace to her heart.
She sighed heavily and wondered how long she can go on like this. If it was okay for her to rule and protect others even with half of her abilities. Ismire stretched out her wings and let out one big huff. With that, she pushed out a slow operatic note before slowly winding into an entrancing melody. She continued this for a while, allowing the passion to pass through her from the pit of her stomach to the tip of her tongue and finally pass her parted lips to the open air. It carried well down the mountains as an answer to the Snover's song. When the urge ended, she let her voice peter off into the nothingness.
It was after several heartbeats of silence did she realize that something was wrong. All music had stop. Including the sounds of the evening. In fact, the night seemed ever more darker as if the moons glow was no longer able to penetrate the darkness. It was in this instance that she realized that she was no longer alone. Ismire stood and reeled backwards defensively.
“Who's there!?” she shouted into the darkness. The ice crystals shedding off her wings crackled with life as she fluttered them.
A deep rumble of a metallic voice replied, “What lovely singing. Much like a songbird in the spring...not that I would know.” She could make up a vague shape in the dark. Something large, something angular, a shape that seemed to blend easily with the black around him. The air seem to surge with power around him. It seemed to shed off of him, polluting the air around her making it suffocatingly hard to bare. Was this how her presence was before her wish? No, he was doing this purposefully as show of power or a threat.
Ismire backed away. “W-who are you?”
“Its a shame you do not remember me, songbird because I remember you quite well.” The voice seemed to surround her now, distorting her understanding of the world.
“I-I don't know you. Why don't you come out and show your face?” her voice was soft as her breath slipped passed her lips sparingly. It was becoming harder to breathe the closer he came to her- if he was even close to her to begin with.
The creature in the darkness seem to muse on this though before chuckling. “As you wish.” The dark fog seem to dissipate around her just enough to allow the dim glow of the moon back. The shadow covered form was now brought to light. Gold plates shimmered on top of silver armor as the large, muscular form moved closer to her. It stopped right before her and tilted it's helmed head and stared at her with piercing red eyes. Shadows flowed off of him like ribbons in the breeze and it was then that she recognized him. It came back from a distant memories back before in a different incarnation.
“Grimarr...? B-but how? You can't be...” stuttered Ismire as the feeling of dread filled her stomach. “They banished you and sealed the portal shut...how.”
He laughed again, mocking her naive sense. “As it seems, I found my own way back, but now I can never return to my solitude. Your world and it's blinding light and blurs of sound grates on my every nerve.”
Ismire felt the earth surge up and grasp her ankles, grounding her. She struggled against it. In turn, she chilled their air even further and allowed a fine mist to roll around her before ducking to deal with the earth holding in place.
“So you will fight me til the end like your predecessor. I will relish in your defeat then, songbird.”
She pressed her hands to the cool stones and pumped her wings hard to blow a flurry of powdered snow. It froze the ground around her feet allowing her to break free easily. She made to take to the air and felt a claw come down hard on her back. Ismire crashed back into a snow and rolled just in time for Grimarr to land beside her. The impact alone blew away her mist and sent her tumbling down.
'He too strong.' thought Ismire as she took straightened and quickly took off into the darkness. Though her body ached and her ankles felt bruised, she willed herself to move, to run as fast as she could away from the danger chasing her close behind. Her lungs felt like they were on fire as the wheezed and struggle for breath. The pressure he exuded seemed to squeeze her the oxygen out of her as she ran. She could feel the darkness growing around her as he caught up. Ismire ran and dodged, feeling her muscles ache and burn from it's oxygen depravity.
But fear was a good motivator. The knowledge of her mountain was also a great aide to her descent as she tried to make her way home. Unfortunately in the encroaching darkness, she had a missed a step. Her foot snagged upon a lone rock and before she knew it, she found herself tumbling downhill. In this time, her knowledge of the mountain became intimate. Quickly learning of each dip in the mountain and every rock in place from where she rolled and landed. Before the pain could get to her though, the world turned black as she finally came to a stop. Heat flushing from her head was the last feeling she could recall before everything including the feeling of fear just faded away.

Waking Up 1014
Ismire awoke to the sound of silence and was greeted by unadulterated darkness. She blinked, feeling groggy and sore. Her was throbbing and her mind was fuzzy. Shifting, Ismire felt a jolt of pain shoot through her body and her wings. The back of her dress and the fur pallet beneath her was drenched with melted snow. The young girl tried to sit up and felt every little bump and bruise she'd gotten from her fall as she did. When she finally straightened, Ismire ran a hand down her body to make sure that nothing was broken. She found that most of her dress was torn and beneath that was freshly wrapped bandages. She went to inspect it, but was distracting when a flicker of light disturbed the perpetual darkness.
“I would not do that if I were you.” murmured Grimarr as he held a candle out to illuminate the room. Or should one say, a cavern.
It was cozy, one could say and the only furnishing was the makeshift bed that Ismire sat on. Other than that, there was a stone carved out like a stool and table that next to the bed. It was covered with old gauze that was caked with blood and tattered wrappings that looked partially frozen.
“Your wings are grievously injured. I would suggest not moving them if you enjoy flying.” he said plainly, taking his seat next to her.
Her eyes lowered to her hands as her cheeks redden. The sting of tears forming burnt her nose and chilled her cheeks as they crystallized and fell. “Why? Why am I here? I don't understand whats going on...”
Grimar sighed deeply and removed his helm, placing it alongside the candle on the table. Long silvery white hair rolled out from where it was held, falling against his dark skin. His face was made up of soft angles and a pair of glaring red eyes that seem to see right through you. Seeing his face made Ismire feel uneasy yet somewhere deep inside, it felt like home.
He sighed heavily. “We were friends once, you and I. A prior incarnation from long ago. Back when the world was young. Do you not remember?”
Ismire simply shook her head, unable to find the words. She didn't remember a time before he went crazy. She couldn't recall at all.
“Truly a pity, my old friend. Do you know why I called you, songbird? Do you remember the reason?”
“Why do you ask? It's obvious that I don't remember. Why am I here?” She swung her gaze up at him, defiantly. “And stop calling me “Songbird.” My name is Ismire!” The soothe bell around her neck chimed softly with her movements, it brought her a sense of peace.
“Mm, so you do not remember your captivity? You do not recall how you were locked away because of how weak you were? You, my friend, were the weakest of the three and so they treated you more as a pet then a peer. They locked you away in a cage on some high and lonely mountain top.” He shifted his gaze from her to his helm. “I was one of the few who would travel to see you. How could I not? I have watched over you since your conception.” His eyes seemed to soften as they grew distant. “You used to sing to me. It was one of the few things that I had treasured of this world that I hated so. It soothed me. That is why you will always be my songbird.”
He finally looked back towards her, his gaze hardening once more. “As for why you're here though...that is not your concern.”
“None of what you're saying is making any sense to me! I cannot remember my past.” Her fingers curled around her collar. “A-and why is it not my concern. You haven't really explained anything to me. You've just made me more confused.”
“It is not your concern because your first priority at this moment should be your health as for your past. If you are truly interested, I will tell you. I will tell you everything.”
“Why are you being so nice to me?”
“Because, So-- I mean, Ismire. You were once a dear friend of mines. I treasured our friendship dearly.”
“Then why did you attack me!”
His face dropped and returned to fiddling with his helmet. “I am sorry. Please forgive me. Nostalgia aside, I truly wish to return home. You see, I have grown quite fond of the world I once lived in. I abhor it here.”
Ismire tilted her head. “So you're trying to get them to send you back? But, why me?”
“Because you are the weakest and I wanted to gain the other's attention. I want them to send me back.” Grimarr sighed heavily once more as he turned to face her. “I did not mean for it to be this way. Forgive me, my old friend.”
Ismire thought about throwing her weight around, throwing a fit and rage against this poor beast. But the weight in her heart was too great, she pitied him. Although his words were confusing, she understood the want to go home. She gave in and sighed. “Well, if I am to be your prisoner...why don't you tell me your story. Tell me of our past together.”
He looked up and gave her what she'd considered a sheepish grin from his dark lips. “Truly?”
“Yes, of course. If I'm to be a caged bird for a while, you might as well tell me what I'm not remembering. Hm?”
“If that is what you wish, I shall tell you the tale of our beginnings and our eventual end with the coming of my downfall.” Grimarr drew up the furs that spilled over the bed onto the floors and pulled them up over Ismire, almost tucking her in. “Our story started long ago in age before wishes and the likes to place.
