Maybe Ismire taken a wrong turn. She really wanted to surprise her mama by flying to her house, but it seemed like she was lost. “Just stay calm. Just stay calm” was her new mantra for the day as she muttered it softly under her breath for the hours she'd been flying. Her wings were beginning to get tired. She looked around for a place to land and rest. What she found brought a smile to her cheeks.

A wintery landscape laid before her. It looked like a nice forest to stop and take a rest. She dove down, slowing just enough to roll onto a fresh spread of snow. Ismire huffed softly, watching as her breath appeared above her in small puffs. “This seems like a nice place to rest.” she murmured, stretching out in the snow. Even with her stomach growling, she didn't want to move from this place. It was just so peaceful, she could just fall asleep. To which she did.

Ismire's eyes fluttered open as she heard a voice greet her. “Huuuh?” Groggily, she turned to face the source of the voice and in return found a young boy staring back at her. “Hello.” She gave him a sleepy grin before sitting up. It took her a bit to process what he was asking her and when she did, she shook her head, freeing herself of the powdered snow trapped on her hair. “Nope, I was just stopping for a rest. Are you lost?” she asked, tilting her head quizzically.

Her tummy rumbled once more and she giggled softly. “I would love to have a poffin.” She paused for a moment, having a bit of a realization. “W-What's a poffin?” Her cheeks redden feeling embarrassed. She didn't like not knowing things. It was all part of the downfall of living high on a mountain with little to no interactions from the outside world.

“Oh.” Ismire wiggled nervously. “I'm sorry about your daddy.” Shaking her head, she added, “I-I wasn't left. I was trying visit mama, but she lives far away from me. Ended up getting lost instead.” She felt really bad for him.

When he explained what a poffin was, her eyes went straight to the dessert with great curiosity. Plucking it from his hands, she examined it before slowly biting into it. “Mmmm, this is reaaaaaally yummy~” Her wings flutter for a bit as she twirled herself off the ground before settling back into her seated position. “It's okay. I like cold things. Warm things are icky and make my wings melt.”

She giggled. “I got really tired and it was pleasantly cold here.” Ismire fell back into the snow. “I love snow, the music it makes, and the feel of chill against my skin. It's one of my favorite things. Guess it makes sense with me being an Articuno and all. Or at least was...”

“Um, my name is Ismire!” she stammered, realizing that she had yet to introduce herself. Ismire stuck out her hand and offered him a kindly smile to go with the handshake. “It's a pleasure to meet you!”

“There's nothing wrong with you.” A bit of her age peered through as she gazed over at Jacen. An old soul trapped in a body of a kid that's what she was and in dire moments she showed it. “You're made just perfectly and if those other people can't appreciate that in you then they don't deserve your love and devotion.” She reached out and clasped his hands between hers. “For what it's worth, I think you're a wonderful person! I mean, you gave me food when I didn't have the strength to even pick berries. You probably need it more than me.” Her heart ached at the thought of someone suffering and not knowing how she could help them.

Hearing about Molly made her curious on why he couldn't protect her any longer, but Ismire didn't want to make him sad. Instead, she chose to answer his question on the sound of snowflakes. “They make the most wonderful music! They sound like small bells ringing.” She hummed a little diddly from what she heard, trying her best to mimic the sound of falling snow. Once she was done, chuckled. “Something like that. I can't mimic it well, but I love singing to it.”

“Jacen? That's a lovely name.”

“I think so. People don't toss family aside, so there must be something wrong with them.” Ismire gave a curt nod. She'd bop them on the nose for being such mean spirited people if she could. Her expression lit up at the drop of the name Brenny. “Oh! I remember him! He's very nice. And you're right, it's always important to share.”

It didn't take very long for her to answer that question. It obvious for her. “How about my mama? She's very loving, and caring! Plus you'll have a lot of brothers and sisters who'll love you as well.” Ismire said, sounding rather excited. “Her name is Dea and she's one of the sweetest humans I've met. If you ever want to meet her, I can always take you there afterwards.”

She nodded vigorously. “Something like that. I love that sound. Never used to consider myself alone in the world so long as I had music around me.”

“Well, if that was the case, she wouldn't have taken me in. Dea has been there for me even when we're so far away and when I need her, she's always there. She's a good mama. Plus I have great brothers and sisters that have my back.” Ismire beamed proudly. “They're a family that would never leave you over something silly. I'm sure of it. Besides, you'd have me as well. We could be family~”

“Music was all I knew growing up. So it just became a way of life for me.” She shrugged, drawing little circles into the snow. “Its something to try.” Ismire gave him a slight smile as she gave him a big hug. “It's okay to miss them and maybe eventually forgive them, but leaving you like that was just wrong.”

His silenced was matched with her own as she took in what the boy said. “If you're not ready for another family then how about a friend? Friends are nice to have.” The Articuno girl seemed to curl up in herself as she rambled out her thoughts. She hatched on her own and had nothing, but nature to raise her. So she understood to some degree how it can be rather hard and lonely to be on your own. “Well, if that's what you want to do then I can't stop you. Not that I can't blame you for wanting to know why either, but I don't want you to get hurt or anything.”

Ismire's expression lightened as she listened to Jacen's words and by the end she was beaming proudly by the end of it. She hadn't realized how worried she was that he'd go on alone or somehow gotten hurt. She returned the embrace and nuzzled his cheek. “I'm glad we can be friends! I'm looking forward to the day where we can be family.”

She pulled away, holding tight to his hands. “If things ever get too much, I'm always at the peak of Mahina Mountain. Please come visit me when you can. Otherwise, I'll always come by and visit you!”

Looking around curiously, Ismire couldn't help, but wonder where in the forest he lived. “Do you sleep out here beneath the stars?” she inquired.
