From The long journey of newbiehoodPost 30 Chael swiftly walked into the gym, cold expression as always. He had quickly healed his Pokemon and now he figured they were ready for the gym leader. Whoever it was. His team was behind him, ready to fight. Totodile, Ratatta, Eevee, Timburr, and a Blitzle. All decently trained Pokemon for a trainer who had just stated his journey the same exact day. "I'm here to challenge the gym." he stated, bluntly. Post 84 Chael strode in, mixed emotions hidden. He had joy, being the first trainer of the newest group to challenge a gym and hopefully get a badge. But he knew Gym Leaders were tough and the fact that his actions would give opinion to how this leader handled the other newbies was stressful. But he hid his emotions, looking calm and collected as usual. "I'm here to challenge the gym." He politely said, before hearing the rules. Having heard them now, he sent three Pokemon in front of him while the others went to a bench, to cheer on their teammates. Argos was in front of him of course. Like he'd not let his starter take on the gym with him. Second was a common among new trainers. Fear, simply stood on all fours, leaning on the ones on her rear. Then a Blitzle, Lizzy. Of course he'd have found a Pokemon to help him with this gym. It wouldn't guarantee the result, but having an electric type helped. "So, shall we begin?" he asked, waiting for a response. Post 85 "Fear, do your best." Chael said as the Rattata jumped on the designated area for fighting. A rectangle with both trainers on opposite sides. Of course, there was a Pokeball insignia in the middle. The purple rat faced the duck, the Farfetch'd. Her ears perked, waiting for a command. "Alright," Chael said ", start up with a Quick Attack!" Fear nodded the lunged, at a breakneck speed. Then she jumped and charged towards the avian. OOC: I guess for attacks with a " -" accuracy we're doing fifty-fifty with 51-100 being a hit and anything less a miss? ***** The hit landed and Farfetch'd was knocked away by the rat's attack. The bird shook himself off and stood sturdily again. "Peck it," ordered the sub. She readied for another command. Chael gave himself a moment to think of an attack and he quickly said "Use, Bite on the bird." Fear swiftly jumped behind Farfetch'd. She opened her jaws, reveiling her strong teeth. Then she lunged foward, snapping them at the duck. OOC: I think it's just out of fairness that we use the dice. ***** The Bite attack landed and Farfetch'd squawked in pain. In retaliation the substitute yelled out, "Aerial Ace!" Post 87 Fear swiftly evaded the Aerial Ace attack. She was quite agile as it seemed. Nodding approvingly, Chael said "Great job, Fear. Use Quick Attack once again." Once the Farfetch'd had finished its missed attack, it'd be facing away from Fear. Therefore, she decided to take advantage over that and she lunged once more. Everything around her slowed down, as she went foward at an amazing speed. The Farfetch'd took another hit to the back, plunged forwards and landing heavily on his beak. The substitute cursed, weighing his options. The duck wasn't likely able to take many more hits, but he wasn't about to lose a Pokemon without at least causing a casualty on the other side as well. "Get up Farfetch'd!" the gym leader yelled. "Let's give him a Fury Attack!" With luck, he could land multiple hits in one go and take out the Rattata - it had to be hurting by then as well.

((Wait....Ken's a girl?! :0)) Post 88 True Fear was hurting. But she was stronger than the Farfetch'd and was only hit once. She had quite a bit more fight left. She ducked as Farfetch'd tried striking her with his stick. Chael saw now was his chance. One more attack would do it. "Fear use Pursuit!" he called out. Darkness radiated off of the Rattata, heart racing. She closed her eyes, took a deep breath, then opened once more. Then she leapt at the Farfetch'd, who was a mere foot away from her. The ability to chase down any foe, Pursuit. ((It's okay, I made the same mistake as you years ago xD))
The Rattata sprang forwards, bulldozing into the Farfetch'd with Pursuit and knocking it out flat. One look was enough to tell the Gym Leader that his Pokemon was too weary to continue fighting. "Excellent job Farfetch'd!" he called out as the Pokemon returned. He was personally surprised that the Rattata was still standing after taking five Fury Attacks hits in a row - there weren't many Pokemon that could achieve such a feat at these low level. There was no helping it now though - the Pokemon MUST be feeling pain now. The leader's hand skipped over his second Pokeball, instead going for the last one. In a blaze of light his Pidgeotto appeared. "Use Quick Attack!" the leader ordered swiftly. Once the Rattata was down he'd likely switch out.

((Look earlier, Ken said we'd be doing 1-50 being a miss and 51-100 being a hit. So since you got a 25 before, Fear wasn't hit by any Fury Attacks, let alone five. And you rolled a 14, also being a miss so this attack doesn't hit either. Fear was only hit once by a Peck.)) Post 89 Fear was jabbed by the bird and his stick repeatably. She couldn't take much more. Although it'd only take about two hits to knock her out now, seeing as this bird was the stronger one. Chael began to think. She was doing fabulous with this battle. "Ready? Use your own Quick Attack!" he called out. Fear leapt, towards the Pidgeotto, teeth barred.
