Jace knows that he's good at what he does, knows this from a body count and still being alive with only a few extra scars to show from it. Also why would the higher ups keep coming to a mediocre assassin anyways? They wouldn't. Due to the fact that he's still alive and kicking, however, he can be incredibly arrogant and condescending to the 'grunts' that he works with. Even worse he knows he can get away with it because some of them are too scared to touch him. Sometimes this can land him in a heap of trouble due to the fact that he has a tendency to underestimate his enemies, leading to potentially fatal situations.

If there's anything that Jace wants more than anything it's to be the best in the business. He aspires to climb to the top... But he has a tendency to not care of he climbs up via a pile of bodies. Jace will do whatever it takes to be the best, to get to the stop of the food chain, to become the monster under the bed for his targets and doesn't bat an eyelash at his methods. Some respect his ability to get a job no matter the cost but it has a tendency to make others nervous, wondering if they're next on the chopping block.

Jace doesn't really follow any real moral code in life. He does what needs doing to survive, including killing and gaining power to protect his position in his world. In fact he doesn't mind playing lap dog for someone else even if he may end up killing them later... So long as his belly is full and his ego is stroked. Some say that he is completely unfeeling and uncaring and, most of the time, they'd be right. He can be incredibly emotionally detached from what's going on around him, especially when he's after a target or fighting to survive. Anyone that gets in his way he typically considers collateral damage.

Unfortunately due to Jace's occupation, he tends to be a tad paranoid and avoids making any close connections to or trusting anyone. He avoids large groups and while he tolerates them, he typically avoids social situations altogether, even one on one conversation. However if you somehow manage to get beneath his hardened exterior Jace is a very lonely person. He has no allies, no friends, and only trusts orders given to him from higher-ups... If even those. He lives a life that causes him to have a lot of difficulty trusting others and thus if he does find someone he can trust, has proven over and over that they're trustworthy, he may cave and open up a little.

Oddly Jace is a bit of a daydreamer when he isn't on the job. When he was young he read stories about knights and dragons and wizards and he tends to let his mind drift there to escape. Sometimes this makes people think he's crazy or has something up his sleeve, especially since he isn't privvy to share his method of mental relaxation, but he personally feels that he's quite sane. However he does have a tendency of having moral or philosophical debates with those 'beneath him', showing that his mind is full of a complex web of philosophy and questionable views.
