The Inside Story XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

I'm not all I appear to be
Alex isn't your average blue eyes blonde haired broad. She doesn't have just empty air in that head of hers. She is an intelligent and hard-working girl, and is very passionate about what she loves to do- spying! She's one to jump in and risk it all if she's onto something hard and fast. She can be reckless at times, but knows how to get out of almost every sticky situation. She loves to get into the nitty gritty and isn't afraid to get dirty. She loves her family very much, but her mother is her best friend. Their relationship isn't like most rocky mother daughter relationships. Her mother has supported her through everything- bad relationships, frustration with her father, every near death experience in the field. Alex is trustworthy, yes. She is a very good friend and will always listen. She's not very open about some things, but she is great about hiding things: fear, love, emotion. She can put on a poker face that you wouldn't believe. That's what makes her so great at spying. That and her sass. Alex will argue with almost anything (that her father says) and almost always gets the best of her opponent. She has learned to tease- in high school, she's learned, that sometimes teasing will get you places you wouldn't believe. And sometimes, that skill comes in handy in, say, kidnapping situations. But, beside her charm and sass, Alex is a fighter. She'll fight until her last breath for what she believes in, and maybe that's why she loves her powers so much. Besides her crazy shooting abilities, now she can do her job so much better! She's very tough and iron willed- when she decides something, there is NO swaying her. She is a very trustworthy individual, and, despite putting herself in danger, she will go out of her way to make sure her colleagues stay safe. She very much hates it when people don't follow orders- at least ones that ensure their safety. Sure, she doesn't! But Alex has been in the spy field for her whole life. She knnows every nook and cranny, can almost predict the outcome of every situation. When she says something, people had better listen. She could be saving their lives. She was always a veyr intelligent individual and graduated at the top of her class. She was valedictorian, beating out her competition by a tenth of a point. And that's what I call smart. Alex is definitely an experienced spy, and it shows through. Alex McKinley: Sharp shooter. Fighter. Sassy. Emotionless. Passionate. Down to the wire intelligent. What else can you say?

Opening the book
Alex was born and raised in Washington D.C. Her parents were always agents, from the day she was born. Alex and her brother stayed with a nanny during the time that her parents were out in the field. Alex was very close to her brother during her early years. She would always ask her parents what they did when they got home, but of course, they couldn't tell her. At least until she was old enough to understand. So, their excuse always changed very widely: "saving dolphins", "protecting the President", "buying you birthday gifts!", etc. They were all crazy, but Alex was a gullible child. She believed them and was in awe of them during her whole childhood. She developed a keen knack (and love) of reading and science, and would curl up in a chair with a book and would be silent for the rest of the day if you would let her. She also loved her first bike- she refused training wheels. She proclaimed that they "would slow her down". Many crashes, cuts, scrapes, and bruises later, Alex was very nimble on her bike. She loved to jump off things and put herself in danger. She totally loved the adrenaline that rushed in her veins. She and her brother would race, and do jumps together, and everything else. She had an amazing time while her parents were off "saving dolphins".

When Alex was seven, her parents took her to the agency. She had been figuring out where her parents were going, and had found a lot of their gadgets in their room. She loved to investigate. Begging, Alex reallllly wanted to see what they did in real life. Her father got permission from his commanding officer that she could come, reluctantly, with many promises on her maturity level and her silence. Alex was ecstatic! But of course, the McKinleys brought her brother, too. Yuck. Alex was enthralled with all the gadgets and computers at the headquarters, especially the cars! She knew, then and there, that she wanted to become a spy. Follow in her parents' footsteps. Now, since the legal age to become a spy is eighteen, Alex refused to be rejected. She latched onto her parents and wouldn't go, and was taken on her first mission when she was nine. No other kid would have been able to do this- she was granted special access by her parents, who had become chiefs as well. Her first mission? A federal threat.

Before Alex could accompany her parents on their missions, she had to learn how to defend herself. Her weapon of choice? Guns. She had always been toying with her brother's play Nerf guns and such, tinkling with them and making them shoot faster, straighter, and harder. Alex loved shooting. She would play with her brother in mock wars every day for hours on end. She also loved to look at her father's gun collection. Rifles, pistols, everything. Even a taser. Alex couldn't believe her ears when her dad told her that she would be coming to the agency to learn to shoot properly. Now, Alex had already taught herself to aim and everything, but never with a real gun! Alex and her father went to the shooting range in the agency and got Alex a gun. The girl's first few shots were terrible. They didn't even touch the target. But once Alex got the hang of the gun, her bullets began to come closer and closer to the bullseye. As the session ended, Alex had three shots in the bullseye. Week after week, Alex went to the range with her parents to practice. She would have shootouts with the other rookie agents, and as she got better, she began to beat them. Imagine their embarrassment: beaten in a shootout by a seven year old!

Back to the mission. The President had been recieving death threats and curses from a Mayan dictator. Now, since all dictators have diplomatic immunity, the police forces couldn't bring them to justice. Everything that was mentioned in these threats had come true- from the disappearance of two of his most trusted advisors to the forced retirement of his vice president. At that point, the President had been very worried. But the next threat got him on the verge of quitting: "You have not complied, and I am forced to take action. Beware, Mister President. Beware." Not much to it, right? Well, it turns out that the President had been using Mayan plants to smuggle drugs into the United States. He was making big bucks off it, too. But the government couldn't find out, could it? Alex's mission (with her parents, of course!): find the person behind these threats and put him behind bars! All the police leads were dead ends. The McKinleys had to travel to the Yucatan Peninsula and actually pose as servants at the diplomat's house. However, the tricky part was staying off the radar. The guy was smart. There was no way to get access to the man himself. And yet, his threat rang true.

The McKinleys got a call from HQ, putting them on Red Alert. The President's secret services spotted black figures sneaking into the White House- but they had no one on the inside. Now, Jack McKinley was posing as an assassin for the Mayan diplomat's house. He was sent. Carrie (Alex's mother) and Alex were sent to follow, and to complete the mission if things went wrong. Now, Jack had a tape recording of the orders. If he could bring the spies in and round up the assassins, the diplomat's immunity would be revoked and he would be accessible on murder and kidnapping, as well as attempted murder and blackmail. All that needed to happen was Jack would have to take out the assassins himself- well, with the help of the Secret Service agents.

Alex, Jack, and Carrie (her mother) were all sent to the White House. Jack was sent as an assassin. Carrie and Alex were sent to bring the assassins back safely, but the diplomat was not aware of their real purpose. Alex was stationed secretly byt the kitchen back door in the west wing. In her black sneak suit, crouched into the bushes and shadows, still as the air and silent as a mouse, she was undetectable. She was invisible. She was to wait there and catch any escapees. About two hours later, Alex was briefed over her earpiece. The assassins were all rounded up- but then it cut off with some shouting. Alex was a bit confused, but decided not to move. She hadn't been cleared yet. Suddenly, the doorknob on the door rattled. Alex shrunk down, rigid and eyes wide. She watched silently as a man in black slipped through the door and expertly closed it to look as if he wasn't there. He turned and took off into the forest. Alex leapt up and took off after him, her strides eating up the ground behind him. She had been in track and cross country for her school years before, and had always had the fastest time on the team. However, her seven year old legs couldn't nearly keep up with her target. Suddenly, the GPS in her pocket vibrated. It was an alert, telling her to get back to her station. Alex kept running, but was looking at her GPS. The earpiece rumbled to life, broadcasting her father's angry voice in her ears. He demanded she give up the chase and get back to her station because it wasn't safe. But Alex ignored him. She was bound and determined to catch this guy. As the young blonde looked back up, she realized she had lost her target. She stopped, standing stock still. She was trying to see if she could place where the assassin had gone off to. A click in the dark was heard, and as quick as a flash, Alex was on the ground and rolling away, pulling out her Glock .45 as she went. She fired it at the man's hand, and the gun fell away onto the ground. The man clutched his injured hand, throwing himself off balance and causing him to fall out of the tree. Alex heard a sickening crunch and the man doubled over, falling to his knees. Alex hurried forward and kneed him in the back. She quickly tied his hands up and turned her earpiece back on, requiring backup. The assassin was hauled away with the rest of his co-workers. Alex was grilled by her father about her recklessness, but Alex had had the time of her life. She felt alive. From then on, Alex was a one man show. She took very dangerous risks on her missions. She loved to live her life on the edge. She got herself in danger almost constantly, and had laughed in the face of danger many a time. She had many near death experiences, but always tooks down the guy. It was what she did, it was what she lived for.

As Alex grew older, she began to work for the agency more and more often. Of course, her brother was by her side as well. She was an unofficial rookie agent, let slip by her parents' status. No other kids could get in at the age she was. She loved meeting new agents (and of course, beating their pants off with her shooting abilities) and watching them graduate into real agents. Alex loved going on missions. Whether it be terrorist or just a security counterfeit mission, Alex was all over it. She loved her life. She loved spying. She loved it all! Throughout her teen years, she had been juggling her job and school. She had always been at the top of her class and top of the food chain. But not as the mean girl. She was the girl everyone looked up to because of how she interacted with everyone. No one was left out to her. She had been in a couple of relationships, some which had ended badly. But in everything, her mother was there. Her mother and Alex had become very close over the years, whether it be standing up for each other or just spending time around each other. Alex felt that she could tell her mother anything. However, her dad was a different story. He was very overbearing and demanding, and not to mention overprotective. He could quite possibly have done a background check on every one of Alex's past boyfriends. Not that she had that many. She preferred to work alone. When he wasn't grilling her about school, he was barking orders at her at the agency. When he wasn't pretty much narrating her missions in her earpiece, he was reprimanding her about how she could have gotten hurt. Needless to say Alex did NOT like it. Nor did she listen. She grew to be sassy and argue with her father, to snap back and get herself into trouble. But hey. Most of the time, Alex had a good reason for it.

After many missions, Alex finally turned eighteen. She was given two of her own cars- a Dodge Ram truck to drive around, and a "spy" car. A Chevy Camaro. In a metallic black. Alex loved her gifts, but her favorite? Her very own spy set of gear AND her badge. Finally! She had finally earned her way through to get her rookie agent badge. Needless to say, she could have gotten her actual secret agent badge with all her experience. But she had to be a rookie before she could be promoted. Alex was given many more tasks, but she was also busy in school. She had applied to Yale, and had gotten accepted. Now, she couldn't go broadcasting that she was a spy. She took her courses and kept her grades up, but also balanced her spy job as well. She was juggling everything quite well. But sometimes she just needed a break.

A few weeks after her nineteenth birthday, Alex and her family decided to go on a family vacation. To Egypt! And to make it better? Alex's parents said they could bring six friends! Alex and her brother each chose their closest friends, but Alex also invited Maggie, a new agent. They were close to the same age, but she seemed to stay on the outside. Alex could see of her own self in her. Spunk and rebellion. The thrill of taking risks. Alex really wanted to get to know her better, but she was just so guarded! In hopes of getting her to break down at least some of her walls, Alex invited her. Much to her surprise, she accepted. The group left two nights afterward for a three week trip to the land of the mummies. The group went on a tour of the pyramids, saw quite a few mummies, and went to many museums. They saw the heiroglyphics and also saw the Sphinx. And to top it all off? They all went on a two day caravan in the Amazon rainforest. They saw many animals in their natural habitat, and got covered in bug bites. But it was an awesome time! On the second day, Alex noticed everyone in their group had gotten a rash on their arms. Thinking it was just a poisonous plant, they treated it as such. Carrie (Mrs, McKinley) insisted on treating everyone's rashes, just to prevent infection. Alex could have done just fine without it, but still. When her mother set her mind to something, it got done.

After the trip, Alex started noticing that she had...unique abilities. She was able to turn into anyone she thought about or saw. She first realized this when she was playing Charades with her family, and was trying to act like Jack Sparrow in the movies catagory. Her family suddenly gasped and scurried away, and Alex looked at herself. She saw tattoos all over her body, and saw that her hair was... Black? Spooked by herself, Alex looked in the mirror. She was Jack Sparrow! Alex then started to scramble to think about herself, and moments later, she was back to herself. Talk about a frightening surprise! That was when Alex first realized she was a shapeshifter. She began to practice her powers and get them under control, and now can almost shift effortlessly into anyone or anything. Alex's family also began to realize they had powers. Her father?Super strong. Her mother? Could send a vase flying from twenty feet away. Her brother? Turned into a wolf creature. Alex began to pull together a hunch and asked her parents. What if everyone had powers? That would mean all the agents on the trip had them too. Alex and her brother began to ask around, and finally, after some time, they all admitted to it. It was quite strange. But now, what will they do with these powers? Will they use them to their advantage on missions, or will they be consumed by their own ambition?

The Inside Story XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

I'm not all I appear to be
Maggie is not someone you want to mess with. She's very tough and strong and won't take anything lying down. She's a fighter all the way and can often appear cold to strangers. She's very guarded about herself and rarely lets people in. She keeps herself hidden to the world. To most, she's like a big mystery that can't be solved, which doesn't bother her. She doesn't trust people very easily and not even the other agents can say they have her full trust. She values their skills but, even if they do, she doesn't consider them close friends, if they are friends at all. She can be sharp-tongued and outspoken, often saying things before thinking them through. She isn't afraid to speak her mind and, when she does, she doesn't care if her words hurt people, as long as they are the truth. She prefers to be alone then around crowds of people and works much better on her own. She has always been independent and loves to go rouge during missions and do things her own way. She's very rebellious and hates following rules, even for a mission. She loves to think outside the box and just do her own thing, however that ends up getting her into trouble with the other agents. However, no matter how many times she's reprimanded for going rouge and not following order, Maggie will never change herself. She is confident of who she is and won't let anyone change it. She rarely follows procedure but things almost always turn out the way she wants. Like she hates following order, Margaret hates not being the leader during a mission. She doesn't like others telling her what to do and can be extremely stubborn during those situations. Maggie is also very good at hiding her emotions like fear, pain, happiness, and love. She normally has a straight face (or poker face) on and that rarely changes since she rarely smiles. She's also a risk taker and loves anything dangerous. She normally makes people nervous when she does something risky or dangerous during a mission, especially when it can endanger others. However, Maggie always knows what she’s doing, if it doesn't look like it. Before she got her powers, Maggie wasn't the smartest person in the world. She was just... average. Even though she nearly failed high school. However, since she has gotten her powers she has become super smart and is now extremely intelligent. To sum her up, Margaret Storm is a rebellious, strong-willed, guarded young woman who will fight until her dying breath.

Opening the book
Maggie grew up in New York City with her mother and father. Her mother worked for a fashion magazine while her father was a police officer. Ever since she was a little girl, Maggie was always closer to her father. He was her role model in life and the two were very close. Nearly every second that her father wasn't on the job, he was spending time with her. Her mother was at work all day and often had parties to attend at night, so when her father was at work Maggie had the house to herself. The family lived in a penthouse in the city in a fancy apartment building. It was spacious and Margaret had the company of the maids and her nanny when she was little but the young girl always preferred to be on her own. The only day she was never home alone was on Sundays, when her father always made sure he didn't have to go to the station. It was their day to spend together and do whatever they wanted to. Since her mother was so high up in the fashion business, she rarely had days off and even when she did it wasn't the same as when her father was off work. The main reason Maggie felt closer to her father was that he understood her better than her mother. Her mother was always trying to get Maggie to go out shopping or do other girly things that she had no interest in. Ever since she was little, Maggie was a tomboy and her father understood that. That was why when she was eight, her father taught her how to fire a gun. It took some practice but, by the time she was ten, she could fire a gun perfectly and she became as comfortable with it as most girls were with a credit card. Maggie loved her life but we all know good things don't last forever.

It happened when she was fourteen. For the past few years, her parents had been having problems with each other. They tried to hide it from her, but Maggie knew better. She could hear them screaming at each other late at night when they thought she was asleep. The environment at their house was filled with a lot of tension and it wasn't the nicest place to be. This often drove Maggie to spend her time away from the apartment when she knew her parents would be home. She had never fit in at school in the first place so she didn't hang out with the best kids. She spent most of her time out on the streets with a group of high school teens. It was a mixed group of guys and girl and Maggie was quickly accepted, even if she was a few years younger than the others. Most of the kids were drop-outs but that didn't bother Maggie. As long as she didn't have to deal with her parents then that was okay. Besides, it wasn't like she planned to drop-out of school like the other kids. They were just there to keep her mind off of her family life. She didn't smoke or take drugs like the rest of them, in their eyes she was like their little sister. At least that was what Maggie assumed. Her time with the gang was always when Maggie felt her best. They were rebels, just like her, and they were all fighters. So what if they weren't the greatest kids, they were the closest thing Maggie had to friends. However, it didn't change anything at home. When Maggie was fourteen, her parents finally split up for reasons unknown to Maggie. She never knew what they were fighting about and she honestly didn't care. In truth, Maggie wasn't worried about the divorce. She knew her father would make sure to take her with him and everything would be okay. However, that wasn't how it worked out. Her father didn't even try to get custody of her and gave up all his visitation rights as well. Maggie never knew his reasons for it but she's hated the man ever since he abandoned her. This left Maggie with her workaholic mother and what was soon to be the worst years of her life.

Her mother had been able to keep the apartment so they didn't have to move, which Maggie was grateful for. Her mother still worked all the time so Maggie spent most of her time with the gang when she wasn't at school. She honestly didn't mind it all that much and didn't miss her mother. She took care of herself and even ended up firing the maids and her nanny, whom her mother had kept to watch over her. she enjoyed being alone in the apartment without anyone and taking care of herself. She still kept practicing her aim with her gun, but never went to the police station anymore since she didn't want to run into her father. So, she spent her time shooting old cans and bottles in an alley with her friends. She was the best shooter out of them all, even though she was the youngest in the group. For the first few months, life wasn't as bad and Margaret had expected. Her mother mainly stayed out of her way and they only saw each other every now and then. She still hated her father was just leaving her behind but she didn't hate her life with her mother. However, then Richard came into their lives. Her mother had been single for only a few months when she started to date again. Richard had been a man that she had met during a business meeting and things just took off from there. Margaret had thought, and hoped, nothing would become serious but it soon did. Before Maggie knew it, her mother was engaged and was getting ready to be remarried. Maggie never really met Richard until he asked her mother to marry him but something just told her she wouldn't like him. She wasn't wrong. He was a very lazy, stuck-up rich man that had very low views on women. The two met a few months before the wedding and it was clear that neither of them liked each other. Richard seemed to disapprove everything about Maggie and vice versa. Her mother was completely love-struck and Maggie knew there was no way she could reason with her mother or talk her out of the marriage. The two were married when Maggie was almost sixteen and that was when Maggie met Jake, Richard's son and her step-brother. He seemed like an okay kid but it was clear that he was his father's pride and joy, the golden child.

Shortly after the marriage, Maggie was forced to move away from her beloved city to Washington D.C., where Richard and Jake lived. Maggie hated the move but, since she was only sixteen, there was nothing she could do about it. They actually had a house in the city and a fairly large one. Her step-father was actually in charge of a large company in the city, but Maggie could care less. She was more upset about leaving her friends behind and coming into the strange city. The strange thing was, her step-brother, Jake, always seemed to be around her. It didn't matter what she was doing, he always seemed to be there. He also always called her Maggie, never Margaret even though that was what her mother and step-father called her. Honestly, Maggie could care less about her step-brother and found it very annoying that he was always around. She was an independent girl and didn't need a shadow in her life. She never ended up making friend in her new town since they were all, in her mind, stuck-up, snotty rich kids who thought the world revolved around them. So Margaret became an outsider, not that she cared since there was no way she'd change herself for them. Life at home wasn't that much better since her step-father hated her and she hated her, this caused her slight relationship with her mother to become even rockier.

Unlike the city, Maggie had no escape from her family life so she mainly kept herself locked in her room for most of the day. The only place that Maggie could actually relax was the gym. She often went there every day for a long time just to work out or spar with anyone who wanted to get their butt kicked. She was merciless when she fought but, of course, was safe never to permanently injure them. Not that she ever went easy on anyone. The gym was Maggie home away from home. She spent hours on end there just trying to clear her head and calm down. It rarely worked but it kept Maggie out of the house and away from Jake, which was good enough for her. She was really starting to get annoyed at how her step-brother acted around her when they were alone. He was a perfect gentleman when her mother and Richard were around but he changed when they were alone. She couldn't talk with her mother about it since their relationship was almost nonexistent and Richard was just hopeless. So Maggie was stuck with dealing with her step-brother on her own.

Everything started when Maggie turned seventeen. Her step-brother had been hanging around her much more often and often tried to get a little too close to her then Maggie thought was right. She thought he was just trying to scare her, or was joking around, little did she know that he wasn’t joking at all. The first time it happened was when her mother and step-father were out of town for business. The two were alone and Jake managed to corner Maggie in his room. She hadn't realized what was happening until he had pinned her down and the rest was a blur. This continued every time both their parents where away and Maggie hated every moment of it. She remembered Jake saying her liked her because she was a fighter and hard to hold down. She always responded by telling him to go to hell. She always tried to be out of the house when their parents weren't home but Jake normally found a way to prevent her from leaving. This hell continued for almost a year and Maggie hated every second of it. She completely despised Jake but knew if she did anything he'd lie and tell Richard and her mother that it had been her trying to get together with him. Since Jake was, of course, the golden child Margaret knew her mother and step-father would believe him over her and she'd end up getting punished. So Maggie, true to her nature, pushed through but never backed down. It did affect other areas of her life. She began failing school and sometimes wouldn't go for multiple days. She ended up barely passing senior year and was only accepted into a few colleges, even though her grades before that year had been good. Maggie didn't care since she just wanted to escape her life and would go anywhere to get out of the house she was currently living in. However, things didn't end up going according to plan.

It was the summer after her graduation and her mother and step-father had left town to go on a private vacation for two weeks. It was during those two weeks that Margaret finally snapped. It had been almost a year and a half of torture and, even though she was strong, there was only so much one girl could take. So one night when Jake came into her room, Maggie waited patiently until he was close enough before shooting at him. Her aim was head on and her step-brother was dead before he even hit the ground. Her plan, originally, had been to scare him off but then the anger took over and she ended up shooting him directly in the chest. She was horrified at first, since she didn't want to go to jail, but she quickly calmed herself down and thought of a plan. It actually worked to her advantage that no one else was even in town and that no one knew what was truly going on between her and her step-brother. That way, no one would think she had any motive to kill him. So, Maggie went outside and quickly smashed the window leading into her room, to make it look like a break in. She then returned to her room, took her gun, and shot herself in the thigh. It hurt like hell but Maggie knew she had to make it look like she was also a victim. She called the police right away and they were there in an instant. She was rushed to the hospital and her mother was contacted immediately. Her injury wasn't too serious and all she was left with was a scar where the bullet had gone it.

Her mother and step-father arrived the next day and her step-father demanded to know what had happened. She hadn't been questioned by the police yet, since she had been rushed right into surgery, and had had time to fully prepare her story. She explained to her parents and the cops that she had been relaxing in her room when the window was smashed and a figure dressed in black came through it. He aimed to shoot her but Jake came in at that moment and he shot him instead. She went on to explain that she had then jumped up to protect herself and got into a struggle with the man, ending with him running off and her being shot. She also made sure to tell them that the figure had used her gun as a weapon since it was within in his reach but had dropped it before he left. Maggie was very grateful that the police seemed to believe her but Richard was another story. He seemed set on the fact that she had killed Jake because she was jealous of him, but he was quickly silenced by the cops and her mother. Maggie left the hospital the next day with instructions to let her broken leg heal and to just take it easy. She was forced to attend her step-brother's funeral but left home as soon as her leg was healed. She moved into her own one room apartment on the other side of the city and tried to move on with her life. She was very relieved when her mother contacted her to tell her that the police had closed the case since all leads led to a dead end. Maggie was thankful but still worried that the case would one day be reopened and the truth would be revealed.

Maggie never ended up going to college. She spent almost a year going from job to job, just getting by. Ever since her step-brother's death, she hasn't heard a word from her mother or step-father. She knows that her step-father believes she killed Jake and, while she'd never admit it, Margaret knows that her mother wishes that she would have died instead of Jake. So Maggie didn't even bother to contact them. When she was nineteen, Maggie applied for a job at the White House. It wasn't a big job, just security, but it turned into something larger. Instead of being sent to the heads of security, Margaret was sent to an agency that took on highly dangerous missions and worked in between all the known agencies of the government. They were like spy, well not like, they were. That was the first time Maggie met the McKinley family, or at least the parents. They told her about the agency and explained that they were interested in having her join them. Maggie was hesitant at first but soon accepted the offer. She has never regretted that decision. Maggie was slowly introduced to the other rookie agents and they all seemed like good people, yet Maggie was always the outsider of the group. She didn't get involved with all their activities nor did she spend all her time with them. She was guarded and she had her walls built high and strong. She refused to let anyone in and would sometimes snap at the other agents if they wouldn't get the picture. She didn't mean to be rude but she didn't want to get hurt again. However, Margaret never let anyone know this. She kept on a strong front and never let her guard down or her emotions show. She may have been the outsider of the group, but she was just as strong as them all.

Her life at the agency wasn't all that bad. She went on many missions with the others but was always the rebellious one. It was rare that Maggie would ever follow orders to the point. She'd rarely follow them at all. She often went rouge during missions, which sometimes put others in danger, but things always seemed to work out just fine. However, Margaret always got a firm talking too at the end of every mission for her behavior, especially if someone did end up getting hurt. The only timed someone died during a mission where she didn't listen was when one of the other agents tried to stop her, therefor he got in her way and ended up being killed by the target. The target was successfully taken down by Maggie herself but she was almost kicked out of the agency for causing the death of a comrade. Maggie never said anything when she was being yelled at but, during that situation, she couldn't help but think it was the agent's own fault. Everything had been going fine before he got in her way. Sure she wasn't doing what she had been ordered to do but it was still working out fine. It was only when he tried to stop her that things got out of hand and he was killed. Maggie felt a little guilty for his death but firmly believed that it was his own fault for getting in her way and messing things up. Though she would never say that to her commanding officers.

She was slightly surprised when the McKinley family invited her to go on vacation with them and five other agents. She never really considered herself close friends with the McKinley kids but they obviously thought differently. Maggie went with the family and ended up having a nice time. True she didn't spend that much time with the others but she found things to do by herself that were interesting. She had been quite eager to go on the two day caravan and enjoyed herself greatly. She hardly even noticed the bugs and spent most of her time exploring by herself away from the group. She didn't even notice the rash until the others pointed it out. By then, it had almost faded and Maggie thought nothing of it. When they got back, however, was when things started to change. It all started quickly for Maggie. A day after she got back, she began to hear people's thoughts. Since she had no way to control it, her mind was constantly filled with other people's thoughts. She kept it a secret from the others and tried to go on like nothing was different. It probably would have worked if she hadn't developed a super brain too. Suddenly, Maggie simply knew everything. She could stare at something so utterly confusing and get it within seconds. She could hack into a highly protected computer in less than five minutes and so much more. It was amazing to Maggie since she had never been that smart before. However, the other agents knew she wasn't the most intelligent person, she was just average, so her new found intelligence was a major tip off that something strange was happening. It didn't take long for Alex and her brother to start questioning her if she had any powers. At first, Maggie denied it firmly and she was one of the lasts to admit she actually had powers. However, she actually likes being the smart one now and enjoys being able to see into others minds. She's also learned to control her powers so her minds not overflowing with everyone's thoughts. However, just because she has powers doesn't mean anything about her is going to change. She's just glad that she got the mind reading power and not someone else, since then they might discover her secret. Now, Maggie's just trying to live through life with her new powers but she's just as rebellious and guarded as before. Yet she wants to use her powers for good and is not letting them control her. She's still her, even with powers, and nothing is going to change that.

A little extra
~ She has a few tattoos on her body. One is on her left shoulder while the other is on her right arm.
~ She prefers that the other agents call her Margaret. Some call her Maggie, however, but it's rare or a slip up. Her reasons for this are unknown to the agents.

The Inside Story XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

I'm not all I appear to be
Eve's shallow, simple as that. And proud. She could care less for your opinion, and will state hers whether you want it or not. Teasing and flirting occurs a little, sure, but what girl doesn't do that? Telling people off is definitely a profession, especially if they're annoying or getting into dangerous territory. Unless you're Chrissy or the Boss, don't expect Evelyn to save you, wait for you, or even listen on most matters, for that matter. She loves good attention and always accept compliments, sarcastic ones or not. Butter her up all you want, she'll still more than likely not help. Dependency is something she lacks, and romanticizes about her own fairytale ending when alone, because relying on others just seems so far. Evie have a soft spot for kids; often babying them and becoming overly protective. Ambitious is far too lax of a word for what describes the brunette's goal. When determined, Evelyn will stop at nothing to accomplish her mission, but usually thinks through just what she's getting into. Getting kidnapped, held hostage, taken advantage of or killed isn't something the young adult wants to happen when her career is just kicking off.

Opening the book
Eve was born in Brooklyn New York, but moved to Anaheim before she actually started to speak, meaning no accent is stuck in her voice. With rich parents graduated from top business schools, Evie always lived comfortably in a penthouse with someone always around to do her bidding and watch over her. Her mom and dad lived pretty normal lives; engrossed with work, staying up late, hosting social affairs, etc. And as a normal family, reunions and visiting between members occurred often, especially after Christina was born and old enough to play with Evelyn.

Growing up, her parents moved around a lot depending on what was good for their business, beginning an attachment to fairy tales for the sleek brunette. Fantasies about staying in one place forever with nothing to interfere with her happiness had her jealous of her younger cousin whom she valued as a sister over the years. The jealousy faded as her parents found their business thriving in California, her thirteen year old wonderland. It was always sunny and next to New York, one of the most fashion forward places she'd seen! It was amazing, she had many fond memories, including her first bike with her first bike ride with her parents, and later Chrissy, as well as her first hair dye, spa trip and school with no uniform. Unfortunately, her ritzy style started to fall into the dumps four years later.

Her cousin had come down to visit for awhile, so as any seventeen year old would do, Eve took the girl out shopping. They were just two young teens out for a fun day, but when they nearly ran into Mr. Thad Grace, curiosity got the better of the brunette. He was arguing --well, more like pleading -- with the man across from him about money. Evelyn didn't care much for the conversation, just that the guy was a creep and how dare he try to ruin her Princess lifestyle! The sun was setting by this point, and as the mystery male left -- quite peeved by the way -- Eve clicked behind him in her heels, Christina following. However they themselves didn't know that they were being followed either.

The two did a quick wardrobe change, making their story -- if they got caught -- to be two young women looking for some big time fun that night. And get caught they did. Eve was no super sleuth. She did everything publicly. Humiliate Ginger Weaves over the school's television system, announce fights and latest gossip just loud enough for others to hear and spread, even told complete strangers they were delusional to buy that black dress and announced her daily troubles for everyone to care. And following this guy was no different. After a few sweet words and playful strokes down the somewhat flabby chest, the cousins were in. He had taken something of her Thad's as a promise to his threat, and so help her God Eve would make him pay for it! If her parents' business went down the drain, good bye Cali penthouse, hello rundown condo with food -- and people -- grease staining the air.

Excusing herself to a bathroom check up, Eve was on the verge of puking. She was seventeen years old -- freshly too -- and this guy, obviously older than her Dad, was feeling her up and talking like he had something going on. She discovered his first name was Ray, and that he claimed to be a business man. Chrissy chastised her, but just as she was about to brush off the thought of chickening out, a man had let himself into the bathroom, clapping slowly. Apparently, he'd been having trouble tracking down the dirt bag they'd followed, and was impressed. However, he threatened them and tried to force them out of the area, as if his presence wasn't a threat alone. That was when all hell broke loose.

Ray, dear sweet lying paranoid Ray, sent a man to keep tabs. And when the gang leader found out about Eve and Chrissy associating themselves with a spy, whom had apparently crossed paths with him before, they were incriminated to be undercover spies just like the unknown pervert -- as Eve dubbed him. Cover blown, a fight started. Several hours and gunshots later, Ray and his grotesque crew were being thrown into a sleek black van, and the two girls were left dumbfounded and forgotten. It was then the elder cousin decided she didn't want a mundane life of waiting for a prince in some desolate place. She wanted to go out and search for him, and be as dependent as the spy was that night. Undercover, fake IDs, the freedom to be and do whatever she wanted; it was that belief of power that led her to believe she make the world her own.

Her parents didn't have to worry about money, and she didn't have to give up her life because that night. As if her relationship with the two older Graces wasn't tense enough, when the teen had declared she was not going to college or taking over the family business, arguments became more frequent before both gave up in trying. Chrissy was the only one who knew about her reasons, and couldn't change her mind either. Before long, they were strangers simply living in the same area sharing the same chauffeur and name.

So, at eighteen, Eve rushed to finish exams, boasted to her cousin about her future and left her parents without a single glance to D.C. After all, where else would government agents work? It took months of buttering up to a few men to get a suitable flat to live in with a very discounted rate -- her body developed well in her years, and didn't have to be sold to prove it -- before she was recruited into the agency at almost nineteen. It was there she met the prodigy Alex McKinley, and became somewhat friends with her. It was a rocky relationship that depended on the day. Alex had a tendency to nearly be killed, and Eve didn't want to get dirty or sweaty during any kind of assignment. It was because of this that she chose a long range weapon that didn't leave any residue and aided her in getting out of a chase -- a whip.

After awhile of knowing each other, Eve was invited to go on a trip with the McKinley family -- as well as Chrissy who got in awhile back -- to Egypt. Wary, because of the bugs and smell, the brunette finally caved and tagged along, seeing the Sphinx and so many pyramids! It was kind of amazing, she had to admit. Though she could do without the parents watching their every move. It was a foreign feeling to her for Mr. McKinley always nagging them -- especially Alex -- on safety. Then, after the air conditioned mummy viewing and museum touring, they went to the rain forest. There was not one spot on her -- despite being bathed in bugspray -- that didn't have a bite from a disgusting bug. And to top it all off, she received a hideous rash that Mrs. McKinley insisted on treating. As if Eve would stop her. It was then Eve decided never again she'd go on a trip like that. It was not a vacation, it was hell until all the bites and the rash disappeared.

Back on American soil, Eve began to notice something strange but likable in her coworkers. Whatever she told them to do, they did it, no questions no fighting no nothing! All she had to do was pout and give them a sweet little tone before making her demands. Alex and her brother approached soon after, sharing their own abilities. It was like they were kids, sneaking around the parents and other little kiddies telling each other their secret of what they could do. The brunette supposed it was strange, but hey, she became that much closer to making her dreams a reality.

She hides a thick book of fairy tales she'd had since she was a kid; it was a gift
