Everyone has seen spy shows, spy games, dreamed of becoming a real undercover spy? Well, one family is living the dream. The McKinley family, a well knitted family of four: mother and father, happily married, and borhter and sister of final legal age to work under their parents. Their job: working between the CIA, FBI, and President's Secret Service. The McKinleys undertake the most dangerous of missions, using their family ties and outrageous wits to conquer a mission. Black suits, the latest technology, and the most dangerous criminals the world has seen: what could be better? The McKinleys are sure living the dream!
But every family has to take a vacation. The family decided to take a break from work and go on a three week vacation to Egypt and the Amazon Rainforest toward the end of June. The family of four went, along with a group of rookie agents that has become close the the son and daughter. The group in sum: the mother, the father, the son, the daughter, and six of their friends. They all took a direct flight to Egypt and stepped foot in the desert, eager to try their luck. Like all tourists, they visited the pyramids, temples, heiroglyphic museums, and, of course, saw the mummies! The group also went on a two day caravan into the Amazon jungle, and that was where it all began.
Monkeys swung through the trees, growls of beasts prowled the jungle floor. But as secret agents, the group knew they were safe. Sure, they were all covered in mosquito bites and bug bites despite the bug spray, but the group didn't care. They were having an amazing time! But then, a rash appeared on all of the group. Thinking they all had brushed against poison ivy, they all didn't put much thought into the rashes. They treated it like normal poisonous plants and soon, the rash disappeared. And, moving on.
But what the agents didn't know was they were bitten by a bug. A bug that wasn't a bug. The bugs were scientific accidents. They were live bugs, yes, but insects that carried a strange venom-like substance in their bite. A bite which would cause a rash. A bite which unknowingly gave the teens and the parents "special" abilities. Ones we hear about only in legends, only in superstitious tales. But this bug- it was unknown. Scientists has no idea what they had created was a bug that could cause superpowers. However, lucky for them, the insects were very short lived. The bugs were released into the wild and reproduced, but they were migratory- also an accident. Soon after the end of July, these bugs disappeared. Flying south for the winter, just like the birds. But too far south- into the barren Antarctica. There, the freezing temperatures killed them all. Scientists had no way of knowing what they had created, and what had destroyed them. But maybe, just maybe, there could be one lurking around the rainforest?
Back to the teens. The teens and the parents had no idea what they were in for. As they returned home, each other them began to find themselves able to do supernatural things. They all had no idea what to do with their new powers- except to keep them a secret. None of the teens knew anyone else had powers. That was, of course, except the family. The parents soon realized what was going on and began to inquire as to whether their children had been bitten by the same bug. As a matter of fact, they had been. But no one knew that the rest of the rookie agents had been bitten either. Until the questions started.
The two siblings, having hunches, began to ask the agents that had been with them about the powers. Some of the closer friends warmed up and admitted it, but some took more time. Eventually, everyone realized who had powers. All eight teens had special powers, and the parents as well. But not all power is used for good. Four of the teens, led by the brother of the family, soon became ambitious. They wanted power for themselves. Not to be bossed around by some computer as to missions. The gathered together and discussed what to do, and slowly became consumed by their ambition.
The sickness of mankind is slowly taking over the minds of these four teens. Four good, four evil. Yet no one knows whose on either side. So what will happen? Will good meet evil in battle, or will another fate soon come upon these teenage agents? Will the world be hurled into utter chaos? You have the keyboard. You decide. Have you been bitten by the bug?
