Personality TraitsNapoleon has an insatiable curiosity about humans and this new planet he's found himself upon. He usually will try and sneak around on the walls or ceiling to watch what you're doing. He has been known to ask questions and on occasion have a short conversation but any attempt to get closer to him or invite him down to you is met with resistance if not outright fleeing. Trying to force him down can have disastrous consequences.
Those who have spoken to him vouch that he seems nice enough but possibly rather flighty.
His classmates could tell you though that he is a slacker. He doesn't care enough about school to put any effort into the work. Hell he only took the advanced class just to go on the field trip. He doesn't give a rats a** what kind of gas comes out of a cows digestive tract, but traveling to another planet instead of just the space station sounded exciting.
Humans scare the ever-loving s**t out of Napoleon. The differences between them are so minute compared to the differences between he and his classmates or any of the other alien's he's met. He'd thought he'd seen every other sentinent species out there until they landed here. He has an incredibly hard time telling human's apart from each other. Some of this is due to his poor eyesight in earth's bright light. It's like being curious about and wanting to get close to a crocodile...but knowing in your heart it won't hesitate to take a bite out of you. It's even worse knowing you can communicate with said crocodile and they STILL want to know what you taste like.
A good tactic to use with him is to take advantage of his curiosity and bribe him with a 'surprise'. A surprise could be ANYTHING. He'll stick around just to figure out what the surprise is. Even if you fool him a couple times...the next one really COULD be something! What if he doesn't show up and misses something good?
Napoleon will slowly warm up to people as long as they give him the chance to and don't press him. He's desperate for social interaction, it's just his fear that holds him back. Once you get to know him he's very friendly. Being the only one of his kind with only a handful of aliens who share his fate, he'll cherish what friends he makes. It's very un-natural for his species to be so alone.
This kid's got a lot of energy. He needs constant stimulation or action around him. This is why he often has a hard time at school. He doesn't sit still very well. He does better with hands on lessons and practice rather than theory.
He'll learn some discipline and how to take responsibility after staying here a while. I'm pretty sure the teachers won't put up with his attitude for long.

Backstory: Napoleon comes from a planet comparable to earth. It's the 2nd planet in a smaller system that circles two red dwarf stars with one moon. It's mostly land with lakes, rivers and a few seas but no large oceans. There are numerous heavily forested mountain ranges running vertically across the planet creating deep valleys where Napoleon's people live. Due to the dimmer stars and the high mountain ranges the planet is much darker and often colder on average than Earth.
Napoleon's home planet has an excellent space program and intergalactic trade and tourism is a big part of their economic system. (The climate is EXCELLENT for winter sports) Though twice each solar year their planet passes through an asteroid belt. During these passes the surface is plagued by a 'rain' of pebble sized meteors. The ability to harden their skin is shared by many of the native species as a survival mechanism to protect them till they can take cover.
Their society is very social though they lack a definition of 'family'. Who your parents or ancestors were is not an important fact. They pay just enough attention to it to avoid inbreeding. Children are raised in community nurseries from birth to late childhood when they begin schooling and preparation for careers.
