I just thought it would be interesting to see what you guys thought about it.
I mean, I wonder what Christians would think if someone were to come out as asexual. Because I always thought that Christians prided abstinence from sex, especially before marriage, or do they just hate it because they aren't straight or they can't have sex (which is wrong, asexuals can have sex, they just don't have sexual attraction towards any gender) which means no baby production (and of course, we're not in the times after Noah anymore, we don't need more children).
So what do you guys think?

Well, while the Bible says "be fruitful and multiply" I believe it's a matter of opinion. I'm a baptist and don't see a problem with it, and I have a few friends who are christian and asexual. I guess they might welcome it as it means no adultery. But churches have changed, I accompanied my aunt to her Catholic Church and actually felt welcome there as the Priest was welcoming, in his words, all races, genders, and sexual orientations.

Just wondering but was that a college campus church?

Regarding things like sexuality, there isn't a single "Christian" perspective, so I presume that the reaction would vary from person to person.

Different churches translate the bibles differently. So I guess there would be varying opinions on whether or not having sex is a good thing.

I guess it wouldn't be that big a deal in the Catholic Community, considering a lot of our clergies (monks, priests, nuns, cardinals, and certain deacons) have to remain chaste once they are ordained. But what bugs me is when certain Catholics say that you have to either get married or be in the clergy and there is no in-between. Asexuality and religion isn't nearly as big a deal as homosexuality or bisexuality and religion.

Just because you believe in the bible doesn't mean you follow the rules.... In today's society I find that more christian older people and priests have problems with situations like this than America's youth.

You know every time people bring up sexuality, we always get in a debate why Christians are so against it. I don't get. Seen how I have no religion. But I full support anyone's sexuality. I read an article the other day of a church group finding out one of its members was gay, so they had another member pretend they were to get them to come out, but he wasn't sure he was but when he showed interest, the church group lynched him!! Apparently there are many other churches out there doing this to their members and the town. Its just wrong. A few of my old classmates were freaking about about asexuality saying that "Oh my god!! they love themselves, thats sooo gross." I was just standing there steaming mad. All they could think of was what they learn in science. Anyways I was upset about the way they were reacting because a girl at my school was. I tried explaining it too them, but they didn't want to listen. The girl was my closest friend. And I felt horrible. I feel sorry for asexual, not because of what they are because they way they are misunderstood. Nobody should be teased because they don't know. They just don't. And i hate it when people say there is no such thing. It may not be common, but everyone at one time who questions their sexuality, experiences asexuality. they just don't know. But don't judge them.
