The Vetala was the first to make it into the room. Her thoughts had been elsewhere; she didn't feel the tell tale heat from the pit, nor did she ever imagine that her greatest fear would be her first challenge. She found herself standing on the edge of a lava pit, looking down into the bubbling liquid with both gray eyes wide. Every muscle in her body tensed and froze, effectively pinning her in her place.

The ghoul sucked in a very sharp breath, and then---

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

She shrieked, her voice hitting pitches it had never reached before.

"I CAN'T!" Amrita cried out, her muscles loosening just enough to make her visibly tremble. Xiu would find both backwards hands gripping her arm, and the terror she was experiencing made her hold all the stronger. The turkeys had gone unnoticed, the stalactites were invisible to her, all that existed was the lava below, and the bubble of flame to the top.

Memories of Christmas came back to her; to be trapped in a room set ablaze. There was no Petro here to pick her up and to protect her this time, but the fire was still there. The lava was still there, and it wasn't going to go away.

"Can'tstayhereican'tstayhere!" She squeaked hoarsely, a strange brownish red substance seeping up in her eyes. Her fingers tightened again on the Baku's arm. "Whatdowedo" Amrita whimpered, every attempt to think of a way to go finding itself severely blocked.

See remi had original ran into the room... intent on telling Amrita that SHE needed to be the boss. That she was a second year too and had a hell of a lot more experience....

and then he heard the scream. Ears pinned backwards, his movements grew from very fast to very precise. That was when he remembered what he did... "Aw s**t we are in the haunted house." The blue haired boil finally emerged with the others, looking down at the scene his eyes grew ever wide. Oh, fire. He could do fire. ...Though his pitiful fox fire was noting in comparison.

Seeking out the ghoul he was looking for earlier, his heart sank and turned in to dread. There was no way he could ask her now to take over the roll. The others did not seem to want it either... "Jack damnit." He muttered under his breath. To those listening they would probably think he meant the lava pit. Though really, it was intended towards the fact he had to actually not be a lazy s**t for once. Sigh. Remi would play along for now.

He too approached Amrita, grasping a free hand and giving it a friendly squeeze before letting go. She had two bodies comforting her, so he would give them a little space. "It will be ok, it looks like the buzzards on the floor are giving us at least some clues where it is safe to walk." At least he hoped so, was it a trick? "Only Lacie now, hopefully she was right behind us."

Phew, looked like everyone had made it in! Her expression relaxed slightly as she took in the arrival of the others, but her brows began to knit together again once more when she felt Amrita's grip on her arms tighten. Fortunately, everyone seemed to be trying to comfort the Vetala in their own way, encouraging the poor undead ghoul that it would be alright.

Yes, Xiu was definitely glad that the five of them had been put together. They would make a good team, she was certain!

"We'll find a way across," Xiu said, giving Amrita a small squeeze before gently trying to loosen the ghoul's grip on her arms. With Remi and Lacie there, and with Raziel with a comforting arm over the Vetala's shoulder, she hoped that Amrita would be okay. She just wanted to check something. With a deep breath, Xiu shuffled her feet towards the edge of the pit, standing right in front of the F3 square.

...But she didn't step on. Not yet, anyways. Crouching down, she eyed the turkey that was standing there warily, trying to beckon it over. Since there was a turkey on this square and on the one right beside it--F4--then those places must be safe to step on, right? Ears drooping, she turned to look back at Remi, staring up at him with wide eyes. While she wasn't particularly afraid of fire or lava, the Baku was clearly still frightened about what the possible outcome would be if they were to fall and fail.

"W-what do you think, boss? Is there a way we could use to find the path across?" Xiu wondered if, if she were to reach her hand out, she would be able to feel the invisible platform. If that were case, could they just...feel their way across? Or maybe throw something onto some of the squares to test them?

Xiu eyed the turkeys.

:C She didn't want to throw turkeys.

Someone had to get things rolling, right? Remi was lazy, not wanting to do this at all he heaved a huge sigh as he moved towards Xiu. Feet heavy, he rolled his shoulders once and looked up to survey the board. The boil was probably one of the laziest people around but... he always did like a good game. This appeared to be a game so, why not? "The bird obviously mean those spots are good for stepping on right?" if they can hold out weight -- he added that mentally though.

"Honestly it appears the only clues given to uh are from those birds...." Looking up, he remembered the stalactites that had been falling here and there. Maybe those would hit something solid path wise on the way across too. Moving past Xiu, Remi did what no one else seemed to want to do... and took the first step on to F4. Mentally he kissed his sorry a** goodbye, but... the thing seemed to hold his weight ironically enough. Looking down... he narrowed his eyes at the poor bird as if saying 'WELL?'

Remi had made the first move, and then Lacie made the second. Since she was right in front of F3 anyways, Xiu allowed herself to slid her feet forward, inch by inch, until she was standing on the invisible platform that was occupied only by a turkey. Then she froze, glanced back towards Amrita and Raziel, and then towards Remi and Lacie. So long as they found a safe path across, then they could lead Amrita across without too much worry, right?

"W-what do you...what do you guys think? I mean, which direction we should go, and...?" As she spoke, she bent down to pick up the turkey by her feet, concerned that the strange bird would gobble itself right off of the platform and into the lava pit below. So the platforms where the turkeys were on was probably safe...but what about the others? And of course, there were those falling stalactites.

Holding the turkey to herself with one arm, Xiu crouched down and reached out her hand towards E3, patting around to see if she could feel a platform in that square or if it was empty.

Her team mates were moving why where they moving didn't they see the fire?! There was a second wave of terror that tore threw her as one after another they started leaving the safety of the ledge. All of the reassuring looks and touches in the world couldn't help her embedded fear. What where they doing why where they doing that she COULDN'T STAY HERE OH JACK THEY WERE LEAVING HER!

Still trembling, she pulled all of her limbs as close to her centre as she could and slowly, super slowly, tried to shuffle forward. Her body was tilted and she shifted on the same angle, one bare foot at a time. She was heading to the closest thing to her, which was apparently F2.
