He was raised mostly by his godfather Cuauhcoatl, the angeni of Learning, and thus developed a heightened sense of curiosity and a thirst for learning on top of his desire to sing and dance. He had an itch that he couldn't scratch, and the feeling of being 'redundant' in his home however, and eventually his father Mecho took him to learn the art of Trade, hoping it would give the young stallion a direction in life. As it turned out, he often used to overthink what he was doing, resulting in the lack of ability in song and dance. It wasn't until after one fateful day where he encountered Zahraa' and was taken into the flock that he finally found his voice, and found a place that finally felt 'right', able to study a rich and alien culture, and be of most use. Best of all, he learned from his 'mistress', the mare that had captured him and kept him as a trophy pet, to stop his overanalyzing how to sing and dance, and found his born abilities, and spirit, finally free. Breedings Taarab is the Favored Pet of Aylin the Oracle, so she has a say in whether or not a mare gets to borrow him -- Because of his usefulness both inside and outside of breedings, she'd rather he not be borrowed by a more aggressive mare, and wishes to use him to experiment with adapting to the changing world as she feels the spirits are leading them to. Because of this, he is not going to be the favored pet of anyone but Aylin, and no one can claim more than one breeding slot with him if its agreed to by all parties. The Oracle gets first dibs at any given time. His breedings are, obviously, only open to the mares of the flock. I prefer RP or at least Truly heavy plotting. Her efficiency comes from observation, and that observation is what makes her priestess for the flock and training under her mother as her possible replacement as oracle when Aylin chooses to retire as acting oracle and spiritual leader and just focus on entertaining herself and possibly rearing more children. This does however mean that she doesn't really waste time with a proper courtship with stallions or waste time helping outsider stallions get used to the flock with her protection and guidance -- any stallion captured is most likely to be handed off to another mare until he has settled in enough to be comfortable and at least somewhat happy with his captivity, and thus less likely to flee when seeking privacy for procreation. Instead she asks for volunteers and puts them through some tests in a public location within the Flock, allowing other mares to choose potential mates from the spectacle as well. While she's friendly and warm the entire time, her blunt ways and possible catcalls from the sidelines sometimes can cause the situation to be awkward for the stallions performing. Current Plots!

However, as the tremors turned into the first of the full quakes, the cave began to crack and eventually collapsed. It was one of the first tragedies of the cataclysmic event that was at then only one isolated event -- Many baskets, recent mothers, and mares were lost to the falling rocks. Except for two baskets, found in a pile of rubble, the precious bundles shielded by a young nursemaid named Risuleri. Shortly after the foals immerged, and the young mare of the siblings was given the name of the mare that gave her life up to save them, and they were dubbed "Earthstrike" in memory of the Earthquake. By the time it was over, whole valleys proved inhospitable, the ground too unstable to climb to the other side, entire families found crushed in the rubble, and the river's flow began to slow. As more disasters befell the valley, Risuleri, just a child and not understanding what was happening and scared of the land she was in, joined her Flock in the great migration from the lands after the burning invisible fumes and angry fires ate at their land enough to chase the survivors, too many to survive near the safety of the temple territory to the new land. Because of this, the young mare grew with the strong loyalty to her family for the need of protection.... But the curiosity of the younger generations of their new world, wishing to learn more of it all. The filly grew into a dignified young mare with a kind curiosity, and courteous behaviors to all she meets, preferring to try and convince stallions to join the herd than use violence. Current Plots!

However this did not make her an 'oddity' or inferior to the other mares, as the inner culture had a thriving appreciation of the arts, especially in the time of plenty and reforming security since the great cataclysm in their home valley. However, unlike her mother, Vaniania was not a delicate flower: She quickly took an interest in woodcraft and leather, and the rhythmic beat of drums. Her interest developed into an obsession that lead her to become a drum maker and musician. Personality wise, Vaniania is a cheerful, bold mare with a robust sense of humor, but gentle in nature, preferring to not have to see the animals she eats or uses the furs and leathers for whole or alive beforehand, and has the habit of trying to nurse wounded animals back to health and keep them hidden away rather than eating them as an easy meal. However, she's has no qualms with eating meat or using leathers, feathers, and furs, as long as she didn't 'know' the animal before hand. Additional info
Is named after Aviania, the queen of the flock around the time she was born.
Because of her dislike for blood, during her required training she'd often find clever ways to capture animals alive and unharmed using her skill and knowledge of shaping wood and leather to keep from failing her eventual trial of Adulthood. Because of this, she's sometimes helps on the hunts for wild animals to bring back for developing fresh breeding stock for the live animals.
Her fighting style, when forced into combat, often uses the rounded side of her claws and her knuckles in hard strokes, preferring blunt strikes that stun or, if hitting hard enough (Especially with a held item) bludgeon, over slicing and tearing with claws.

However, where Taarab's passion is with metal work, Vanmoriel's lies with canvases. She paints using paints she makes herself from minerals, plants, flowers and other items mixed with egg yolks and water. As a child, her painting started off as simple designs; but the talent was obvious. Vanmoriel spends time with her father, learning simple metal-working skills and while her jewelry isn't as skilled as her parents', she puts effort and love into everything she makes. One day, when the wind blew leaves onto a painting, Vanmoriel discovered the wonders of collages. She began to experiment with them; using flowers she pressed herself, leaves, feathers and other items she could get her claws on. She mixed sap and water as glue, harvesting the sap herself. Vanmoriel has a strange fascination with butterflies; something that started as a child. She finds them beautiful, their movements full of grace and an innocence that only a child could understand. She catches butterflies, keeping them in cages until she is able to successfully paint them before letting them go. Like her mother, Vanmoriel is proud. However her pride lies in her art. She doesn't believe anyone else is on her level, something that she has believed since foal hood and something that was encouraged by her mother. Her appearance is not something she worries about. She's often covered in paint, with leaves and flowers sticking out of her hair. Vanmoriel has an array of jewelry, usually items traded for her art. She adorns herself with these without any real thought in how they fit together. She has a fondness for bright colours, especially blues, greens and purples; though if it's bright she'll wear it. Dancing is something Vanmoriel leaned, but not something she has a passion in. Her mind is too busy off with her paints and brushes to learn intricate dance moves. However, she admires her mothers dancing eatly; loves the grace and beauty. She often paints her mother dancing. Vanmoriel has a passion for beauty, but rather than collect such things, she paints them. She will not paint anything that she deems 'ugly', not finding inspiration for it. When it comes to males, Vanmoriel's fascination with butterflies will make her more inclined towards flutters. Vanmoriel does not paint stallions, besides her father and so when she finds a male she is inspired enough by to paint, she will deem him worthy enough for breeding. Vanmoriel is a little withdrawn, not because she's shy, but because she's often in her own world. Despite this she is extremely loyal to the flock, her family in particular and will do anything asked of her without any problems. Backstory: Born to Vanya and Taarab, Vanmoriel is the youngest of three daughters. For a small part of her foal-hood, Vanmoriel was looked after solely by her mother; something Vanya did to protect her children from the teasing she endured. However, as the girls started to venture out and make friends, Vanya realised they would not suffer the same fate as she and allowed them to be in the nursery with the other foals; though she kept a close eye on them. Vanmoriel participated in classes the same as every other female foal, but she didn't excel as other's did. Not to say she was stupid; she simply did enough to pass and left it at that. The classes bored her, so she didn't bother. As she got older, she developed a love for arts and craft, the same as her parents.
