►History◄
Many, many years ago, back when people still took old legends seriously, a high price was placed on the bodies of any mythical creature. Of course, many of these were simply fakes, but the occasional real beast was caught. It was a horrible massacre, and any person with strange disfigurements or suspected of being a beast in disguise was brutally killed. Griffins were especially prized, for their feathers and talons were believed to hold medicinal properties. While many antlers and bird feathers were passed around as fake, many humans not only sought, but found the real thing. The Griffiths, a highly respected and powerful family of Griffins, did their best to protect their people; while they did their best to avoid attacking humans, many were slain in the attempt to protect their kind. When too many were lost, they eventually fled to the mountains to hide. There the creatures thrived and protected themselves, changing occasionally to reignite terribly rumors about the mountains on which they lived.
As centuries passed, slowly the colony of Griffins began to venture from their home. Most did not stray too far, and many returned after excursions into the "outside" world. Despite the relative safety they found, few people still believed in their existence, they had been isolated for too long and fell behind the technologically advanced cities outside. While plenty wished to remain in the mountains, to stick to their old way of life, the occasional youngster would venture out to the world beyond. Tired of being told how to behave and who he would eventually marry as a son of the House of Griffith, Solomon was one of these children. He left just before his first hundred years, throwing himself wholeheartedly into the world outside. He had become very fond of a strange device one of his older brothers brought back, and so he decided to spend his time figuring out how it worked.
He traveled cities in Europe, eventually moving over to America at the promise. Keeping his treasure close, he continued to travel the States as he grew more and more fond of the strange device his brother brought back to him. The humans called it a Gameboy, and as time passed, newer and more complicated versions came out. Solo began to play games of all kinds, using his nearly endless years to learn and adapt to the new systems. His negative encounters with humans didn't really begin until he was caught in line at a Wal-Mart by a truant officer. With no sort of identification, and an honest answer about his age, he was hauled out of the store and to the local high school. He was forcefully enrolled when no records of him were found, and so his torturous high school life began.
Unused to social interactions between teenage humans, and generally quiet and honest by nature, Solo was an easy target for bullies. He refused to fight back, and though the other students learned early on that physical assaults would only backfire, he was ridiculed or flat out ignored. After one specific altercation with a group of boys, the Griffin came very close to juvenile hall before someone recognized just what he was. The boy was whisked off to Reed's, where he was told he would be safe; he wouldn't be the odd kid out anymore.
He still isn't sure if he believes them.
Post Time Skip
Choosing to attend Reed's for college, Solomon has decided to major in Potions. He's noticed a young woman apprenticing to take over the job as teacher, and while it intrigues him, he hopes to finish with his degree before she takes over. The blonde has loosened up quite a bit in the past five years, and while he's more social now, he is still very much into video games. He has returned to his home in the mountains a few times since graduating high school, and his family has come to accept his life choices.
►Weapons◄
※Talons
※Dagger
►Personality◄
Though not necessarily shy, Solomon doesn't speak much, especially when the subject isn't video games. He's perfectly content to sit by himself, especially with some sort of mechanical device in his hands. Solo is a bit too smart for his own good, and was often bullied and ostracized when he attended school in the human world. As such, he is not always trusting, and reacts with suspicion for a while before deciding to trust someone.
Once he has decided you are worth trusting, however, he can be fiercely protective. If someone he views as a friend is in danger, his whole demeanor changes; he will do whatever it takes to rescue that friend. While he puts up no fight when he himself is threatened, he does not tolerate the bullying of his friends, and can actually become quite brave when defending them.
Solo has matured quite a bit in his time at Reed's, and he isn't nearly as socially awkward as he once was. He has made a few close friends, and even had a girlfriend at one point. He seems to attract women with his good looks and gentlemanly demeanor, though frankly, he isn't all that sure of how to deal with them.
►Weakness/Flaws◄
※Easily swayed by precious items and treasures.
※Smokes
►Occupation◄
Art Teacher
►Other◄
※ Has very, very low self esteem.
※ Good at most games, from Tetris and Call of Duty, to BlackJack and Monopoly. He has something of an addiction to them.
※ Is not actually 17 22, but he refuses to tell anyone how old he really is.
※ Adores gold and expensive treasures.
※ Wears a long, very expensive gold chain with a large diamond at the end hidden under his shirt. This is the treasure he protects.
※ Adept at healing.
※ Has taken to smoking herbal cigarettes; they smell of mint and lillies, and the scent clings to most of his clothing.
