It's Time (To D-D-D-D-D-Duel!) For A New Contest! xD
The goal of this contest it to "Design Your Own Game."
Deadline is 7/22/2011 to be announced.
Note: I know this looks like A LOT of work but,
1) we are giving you over a month to do it
2) on top of that ish really only a few hours of "work"
3) you have the opportunity to win a free game or gold if you win =D
Questions
What is the goal of this contest?
As said, "The goal of this contest it to 'Design Your Own Game.'"
Not to create a game but, to design a game.
Details will be explained in the Rules.
Rules
(read ALL of them)
1. I have created a subforum just for this contest.
This means that each entry will have it's own thread.
The name of your thread should be the name of your game.
Nothing more, nothing less.
2. Through the posts, the designer will post the details of the game.
Each component of your game should have it's own post in your thread
and must be 2 or more paragraphs.
3. Your first post will be the name of the game (same as in your thread title)
and a general synopsis of what the game is (like a back of the box description).
4. Your second post will be kind of like a FAQ.
Must include what genre of game it is (RPG, FPS, RTS, MMO etc.),
who you would like it to be licensed under (you may use a made-up company),
Gameplay information,
what system it's on.
5. Your third post will be the list of main characters (with a description of each)
and the Plot of the game (Plot must be 4 OR MORE paragraphs).
6. Your fourth post will be graphics style, controls,
multiplayer details (if any) and any innovative ideas for the game.
7. Your fifth post will be any other details you have.
8. The above 5 posts are REQUIRED and will be the very least you have
but, more posts are allowed.
9. ABSOLUTELY NO PLAGIARIZING!
10. DO NOT post in others' "Design Your Own Game" thread.
This is their entry, not yours.
11. As said the Deadline is 7/22/2011 to be announced. No entries will be accepted after this.
12. Just saying... i know this contest is difficult but,
it is interesting AND well worth it! =D
13. Entry Example is HERE.
It is highly recommended to view the example.
14. This is YOUR GAME.
Although we do have requirements, Please, Please
get as creative as you possibly can with this game.
15. Only one entry per member! Feel free to change your submission anytime before the deadline. After the deadline, any more changes will not be accepted.
16. Failure to follow the rules will result in your entry not counting until the problem is fixed.
17. I am allowed to add more rules as they come to me.
18. Please specify (in parenthesis) in the title that it is a contest entry and to not post (so people not in contest know not to)
REWARDS
1st place wins a free copy of the game Terraria (on Steam).
2nd place wins 300k gold
3rd place wins 150k gold
