I think I posted a thread in here months ago previously about this topic, but here's an updated version.
Basically, me and girl are BFF's for years. We decide to get into a relationship at the beginning of the year. The girl cheats on me twice, treats me horribly, and constantly goes back and forth between straight, lesbian, and bisexual (lesbian to me, bisexual to friends, straight to the guys she cheated on). I forgive her over and over again. She breaks up with me because I'm a wreck. I'm still not over her. I become more of a wreck to the point where my parents have to intervene and question me.
So now it's two months later. The parents intervening part was very recent, though. As of now, I decided that me and the girl (my "best friend".) should take a break from each other. We're going to stop talking to each other until summer vacation. I honestly think it's a very good thing. I can focus on school work, become more independent from her, get my problems sorted out with a psychiatrist, and hopefully move on from her and even make some other friends.
So do you think I should continue with this? It's been only four days, and I'm feeling pretty good. I have great self-confidence, I'm motivated to look better when I see her again, and I already feel a lot less stressed.

You deserve so much better than the crap she's putting you through. You really need to take time off and stick with it.You need to worry about you.. Honestly, if it were me I wouldn't even be friends with this person. There's only so many times a person can screw you over before you need to have some pride and walk away. It'll hurt like hell maybe now...maybe for years. But sometimes what we need is WAY more important than what we want. Short term pain for long term gain. You'll find someone better.

Well...I can't say it was ALL bad, truthfully. I mean, just this past month she had been there for me a lot. She talked to me when I needed her. That meant a lot, considering she would just leave me when I was having a meltdown no more than two months ago. So things were kind of getting better. But she constantly wouldn't tell me the truth, to the point where I wouldn't trust anything she said. So she wasn't terrible. Just enough for me to want some time alone from her.

Sounds rough. I would definitly stick with your break, maybe past summer vacation as well, just to be sure you're really okay before talking with her. And because i'm notorious for forgiving people, i'd give her another chance afterwards to see if the break changed her and opened her eyes to her treatment of you, especially if you said it was getting better. But if she does anything bad again, ditch her. hard. and leave it be. You dont want to be a part of something that is bad for you. There are plenty of other people in this world anyways that won't treat you badly.

Leave her. It doesn't sound like she's done anything for you. You barely said anything good about her. And it also sounds like you are doing so well without her; that you're blooming again. She can't blame you for being a wreck, because by the sounds of it, she's doing most of the wrecking. You deserve a lot better than that.

you should have left her the first time she cheated on you. you need to be brutal with your relationships. cheat once, done. abuse you once, done
you dont need to keep giving this girl more chances to break your heart
