Are you going to one of Snicket's book readings? |
Yes! And I want to hear Handler play with the Gothic Archies, too. |

Yes! But I could care less about the wretched music. |

No. Mr. Snicket fears me. He's not touring nearby. |

It's all too dreadful to worry about. I'll scream and run away. |

Oh yes! I was always hoping they'd release an album of those songs. I just love 'Scream and Run Away'. I know, it's kind of standard, but it's still my favorite. Are you certain they're releasing an album? I mean, did you read it from a fairly reliable source? I'd hate to get my hopes up for nothing.
*Edit* Heh.. I just clicked on the link you provided. I guess it is a reliable source. I apologize for my laziness.

Oh yes, and as a side note, if you listen to the audio samples they have on lemonysnicket.com, they usually play the Gothic Archies songs at some point in the clip - for those of you who haven't heard the songs. That's where I heard them anyway.

Very cool. I hear Daniel Handler plays accordian quite well and frequently plays when he's representing 'Mr. Snicket'. I wish he'd visit a bookstore in my town, but no one ever visits Winnipeg. I wouldn't even visit Winnipeg, if I wasn't from here. blaugh

I have seen/heard a few interviews when he does in fact play the accordian. OH and, slightly off topic, on the end of the CD version of the recorded Bad Begining there is an interview with Handler that is just plain HILARIOUS.

Is there a transcript of that interview anywhere? I'd love to read it...

I personally have always found audio books an unfortunate example and pointless encouragement of illiteracy.
Not to say I overly criticize any who listen to them, I myself am often irritated by the thought of books on tape.
It sounds like they might be somewhat well done though.
