User Image Qing had been absent from her family for a little over a week now; she had said that she would be right back, too, as she recalled.

There was just so much to learn, so much to see, so much to figure out. She hoped they would understand that--and she thought they would, at least Touma and Zillah. They knew how she was, and how difficult it was for her to be...what was the word that one mean fox had said she wasn't? Normal. That was it.

She didn't know what that meant, and she didn't think she cared to.

However, she was back, and unscathed, her little orb still clamped firmly in her mouth as she approached the cave that Zillah had used to give birth to children, and since then had been a sort of home-base for the eclectic clan.

"Hello?" Qing called softly as she approached, letting her orb plunk to the ground. "Touma, Zillah?"

Hm. What would she do if they had vacated the home? Why would they have vacated? Perhaps there was a bear or other invader who had chased them out...the children would be tired quickly though, especially if Sherlock tried to fly...though she supposed Touma could carry the boys if needbe...

"Is anyone here?" she called out again, padding forward hesitantly to the cave mouth again. "Zillah?"

User Image Mommy was out hunting for food for them, and Mycroft and Daddy were asleep...the young 'Phim was bored, and he was just deciding how much it would be worth it to do some exploring around the cave--literally, around it; he wanted to see if he could find a place to climb to the top of it and then jump off to practice flying--but then he heard something even better.

"Mama!" Sherlock pelted out of the cave as he heard Mama's voice from outside. His excited little wings were flapping so much he was actually hovering a bit between each step, and he ran full into her when he got there, giggling into her soft white fur.

"Mama you're back I missed you so much! Daddy!" He said, whirling around and dashing back in the cave; he could hear Mama chuckle and follow him, though slower. "Daddy!" he repeated, pouncing on his father--and accidentally kicking Mycroft in the face as he tugged on his father's ear. "Daddy wake up, Mama's back!"

User ImageZillah had been successful, not to mention lucky, in her hunt and was currently dragging back a well fattened doe. The going was a little slow, but with four mouths to feed, two of which being growing boys, the kill was a welcome one.

Zillah frowned slightly at the thought; there really should be five of them. Qing, however, seemed to have disappeared...again. Zillah knew Qing got 'lost' in learning about her surroundings sometimes, but that didn't stop the black and white vixen from worrying about her other mate. Zillah hoped that Qing would be coming home soon.

When she got near the cave they had stayed in, Zillah's ears perked up when she caught the sound of her oldest son's voice. Dropping the deer, she paused and analyzed the tone. Happy. Well, then danger was probably off the list. Picking up the deer again, she dragged it to the front of the cave before ducking inside to see why Sherlock was so worked up.

User ImageMycroft was having a very nice, very peaceful dream when he was very suddenly and rudly awoken by a foot to the nose. "Ow, hey, Sherlock!" The blue and black kit grumbled at his older brother. "Why'd you have to go and ruin...." Mycroft trailed off as he caught sight of his Mama.

Mycroft blinked at her for a moment, storing away the fact that Mama left but seemed to eventually come back before hopping to his feet and running up to greet her. "Mama! Mama! Where have you been?" He asked, in a non-demanding but highly curious tone, as he snuggled up against her leg.

"Wait, don't say yet." He immediately hopped off to help Sherlock get their father up. "Daddy! Wake up!" He said rather loudly, pawing gently at his father's nose.

User Image
Since he was only napping, not asleep for the night, Touma was easier to rouse than usual.

Although that meant it only took five minutes for him to wake up to see what the commotion was.

Sherlock was hop-flying around (good progress, Touma noted: he predicted the kit would be able to fly for real soon), that Mycroft was pawing at his leg (in an attempt to wake him up), Qing had returned (unharmed, not seeming greatly altered in one way or another by where she had been, although he wasn't great at reading people and knew it), and Zillah was standing in the entrance of the cave (unharmed also, and with a rather sizable deer (he was surprised and impressed and...pleased? proud? he wasn't quite sure what that last emotion was, she had managed to take it down and bring it back all on her own), also seeming confused by the commotion.)

So the commotion appeared to be over Qing's return. Was that normal behavior? He was quite pleased to see her back, but he couldn't imagining him acting the way the kits were over her return.

He filled that question away for later contemplation, and slowly (still not wholly awake, after all) went over to her, and nuzzled her in greeting.

"Welcome back." That seemed to be the appropriate greeting, at least. "How have you been?" That one as well.
