 Welcome! To MUGGLE STUDIES! At hogwarts: Muggle Studies involves the study of the Muggle (non-magical) culture "from a wizarding point of view." The only need for witches and wizards to learn about Muggle ways and means, is to ensure they can blend in with Muggles while needing to do so (for example, at the 1994 Quidditch World Cup). As the class is only mentioned as being taken by Hermione, and for just one year, little is known about its curriculum.
In the opening chapter of the final book, Voldemort murders Professor Charity Burbage because she portrays Muggles in a positive light and is opposed to limiting wizardry to only people of pure-blood origins. For the rest of the academic year covered by Deathly Hallows, the Death Eater Alecto Carrow teaches Muggle Studies. However, her lessons (which are made compulsory) mainly describe Muggles and Muggle-borns as subhuman and worthy of persecution.

Class Overview "Muggle Studies is an exploration of a culture much different than that of the wizarding world. For some of you, it is your first home. For others, it is a step into the unsettling and grotesque. Therefore, I ask each person who calls themselves my student to come forth with an open mind. If you cannot do this, see rule number one.
The muggle culture is so complex that one cannot expect to look at one aspect the entire time or have random tangents as to what muggles really are. One will only scratch the surface if they do this. Hence, this is how the class will be broken up:First years: Muggle History
Second years: Muggle Literature
Third years: Muggle Science
Fourth years: Muggle Fashion
Fifth years: Muggle Entertainment
Sixth and Seventh years: Living Sucessfully in the Muggle World This setup will allow students to discover the way muggles think and feel on as many different levels as possible."

 Professor, or Profesora Catalina Constanza, as she like to be called, stood before an invisible audience, waiting for the strangely empty classroom to fill up. Her thick mane of onyx curls cascaded down her back, her alabaster skin glowing in the dimly lit room, and her almond-shaped eyes which pooled into azure seemed to show a hint of something more than her sleek appearance showed.
Catalina cleared her throat, and waited for the minutes to pass. These students would not know what hit them.

Lena slowly entered the classroom and sat down at the nearest desk, surprised that no other students had yet arrived, that she was the first. She was rarely first to arrive to class. Glancing towards the front of the classroom after setting her bag aside, she noticed the new Muggle Studies Professor. Oh, hello, Professor. I’m Lena. Nice to meet you. She said with a smile

Nathaniel didn't have much to worry about. At least he wasn't late this time. He literally glided over a desk in the middle of the class. Yay, muggle studies. The teacher looked more present than the previous one. What did they learn in the first class ? he masked a sigh. As if he needed to be in this class, he had two generations of muggle living in his blood. He followed the other student exemple. "Greetings, I'm Nathaniel."

Catalina straightened herself and grew taller than her already long physique as the two students addressed her.
"Buenos dias," she said, her rich voice echoing across the empty desks. "Please call me Profesora Constanza. You may take your seats. As your other Muggle Studies classes were so short lived, please introduce yourselves," she commanded.

Blaine walked in slowly, looking the teacher over. She seemed like she would last. But, then again, who knew? Blaine thought. She introduced herself quietly after she sat down in a seat in the back. "I'm, uh, Blaine. Blaine Aldaron."

Sparrow walked towards muggle studdies not expecting anything to be happening, and when she walked in she was greatly surprised. It seems that a new teacher had been assigned. She wondered what had happened to the old Professor and she hoped it was nothing terrible, but overall she was glad to finally be able to learn about the muggle world again! It fascinated her and she couldn't wait. She walked in and said, "Good morning, I'm Sparrow. Are you the new Professor?" She continued to walk farther in and sat down near the front.

Catalina took in the newest addition to her class and shook her head proudly, her glossy curls dancing a jig behind her. "Buenos dias Senorita Sparrow. Si, I am here to teach Muggle Studies. You may address me as Profesora Constanza."
She paused. This class was perhaps even more silent than when she was waiting for the students to arrive. "You may introduce yourselves," she said throatily, her azure eyes blinking expectantly. Catalina assumed it had been such a long time since they had had class the students would barely remember each other.

Sparrow found the Professor interesting. She seemed Spanish obviously and this was cool, because Sparrow spoke a small bit of Spanish. At the introductions Sparrow found this slightly odd because some of them had other classes together but she decided to take the initiative. She stood up again and said to everybody, "I'm Sparrow as some of you know. I'm a Gryffindor Third year and prefect, and am also the Gryffinclaw quidditch captain. Also, I love to draw" She really didn't have much idea of what to saw but just said some things she is proud of. She didn't mention anything about her past because that could sometimes get delicate.
