Gah I ******** love finding out people were just my friends on here cause of my mod title.
Why the hell do you lie to someone for over a year to just be friends with a mod? That's shitty. I'm tempted to ignore list everyone that does this to me over the next few weeks...

There are a lot of people who are just silly and childish, thinking that being friends with a mod elevates them in Gaia society somehow. They probably think they can get special favors and and such from being friends with you too.

Sadly it doesn't though... in some cases it can lead to the friends of mods being harassed more then the mods...
I have seen users reference that their friends with mods to get their way in fights... in reality it does you no good, mods can't touch anyone their friends with. Mods can't warn their friends, they can't deal with people who harass their friends, if your friends with someone you're supposed to step back and let someone else take it. The only thing you can do, which I've done is handle reports like phishers that I don't have to be impartial about. Like when I sent kitty a reply about a misplaced thread.... that's like it.

D: I could never personally think of doing that to you Sam. It's just not in me. It's like shady high school s**t where you're only friends with the popular kids just so you can be popular. It's stupid.
Unfortunately there are people out there who do take advantage of friendships for popularity or titles. I'm so sorry this happened Sam, and so you know I'm always glad you're my friend, mod or not, and that you're always willing to lend a hand when we're in trouble.
