Things that REALLY bug you on gaia. I have two:1. Illiterate people. It only takes four seconds longer to type out your words.. and then people can actually understand you!2. The vampire potion.I have no clue why this bugs me sooo much, but I think the vampire potion is the one way to instantly make any outfit look ugly.

Hmm.. I think it's when people beg for gold. & then get mad at you when you turn them down.
But either way, I'm going to go ahead & move this to the gaia subforum since it belongs more in there than in here. :3

Let's see...
1) That Gaia allows tektek.org to exist completely "independent" of it, therefore creating an entire subsection of the Gaia community (that is, tekteks/tekteking) that Gaia/Gaia's side mods can't regulate at all. The way TOS plays out not only completely allows people to steal other people's TekTeks, but indirectly & unknowingly encourages it. I mean, they have rules against people using almost any image from anywhere on the internet without permission from the "owner" when making graphics, but tekteks -- a direct product of & large componant of Gaia -- aren't extended that same protection... wtf?
2) How I frequently get at least 5 PMs daily from people asking me if they can buy a certain item I'm selling in the marketplace for a ridiculously low price (for example, offer 3 mil for a 10 mil item).
3) The fact that at least 80% of people don't bother to thank me for donations.
4) All the unjust banning & trading pass disabling
5) The fact that the "Petitions" forum consists almost exclusively of people petitioning for the stupidest things ever. If you're going to bother petitioning to a website to make a certain change, then try & get that site to make a change that actually has substance & would actually benefit the people who use the site as a whole. I honestly get so disappointed in the people on Gaia as a whole whenever I visit the Petitions forum & see the billions of petitions for s**t like "colorful new jeans" & "a reverse OMG hat".
6) How much Elitism there is among people on Gaia. I mean, what the hell; of all the places to develop a social hierarchy that's way worse than that of any middle school or high school I know...

Hopefully I have enough knowledge to understand number six, but I'll ask to clarify. Is that a...whats the word.....mannerism I often read when people put down others in an attempt to show off an "intelligence" they might possess to try and show off and make themselves look big? 1. Phishers -- I mean it is one thing to create an elaborate manner for hacking because I still don't usually fall for them. But the phishers that really annoy me are the ones that pm you saying that they can give you 1 billion gold and 2mil in gaia cash if you give them your password. Couldn't you just trade? xD. I mean seriously? ******** off
2. No talent artists and tektekers -- This may seem rude but seriously. I hate when people are running art shops and charge hella high prices for art that frankly looks like s**t. And for the tektekers part, potential is one thing but I hate it when people act like they are the s**t because they can make a monochrome black and white tektek -- over 55 mil in price -- that doesn't even look good. Recognize when you aren't good at something.... seriously, it does annoy me sweatdrop ]

Barton Town and all its facets.
I love roleplaying, and it's perhaps one of the only reasons I bother coming back to Gaia, aside from a few friends that I've made on the site.
It used to be kind of easy to find a roleplay that didn't suck complete a**.
Now, though... Take a look in Barton and see what I mean. :/

1) Hackers - Some people spend a lot of time saving up their gold. At least when it's n00bs, they may be stupid, but they're honest. Hackers are not only usually stupid, but they're thieves. razz
2) The people who run Gaia - They never listen to the Gaians! They lift up the cash shop and if you feel like spending money on pixels you can immediately get great items, but the people who have been here a long time are pretty ignored. Almost all the things they work on or do are to help the users who use the cash shop.
They also have those offers running, most of which have malware or ask for your information. That's horrible on a website where many of the users are 13. sad
3) I also hate the vampire look, but that's a preference thing.

They sent a PM, acting as a moderator, telling me I was under investigation and they needed my user name and password or else my account would be terminated. None of that made since, a few things that stood out were that the phisher asked for my password. scream Not even moderators and administrators are supposed to ask for that! sweatdrop I won't lie, I was a hairs breath away from giving it to them too. blaugh But I thank a working knowledge of the TOS.

Let me rephrase what I was trying to express there, because in retrospect I actually think my choice of words could have been better:
I really don't like how cruel so many people on Gaia are to eachother, & how people get "picked on" & bullied all the time.
That's what I should have said initially. Because ultimately it's not so much the Elitism that I can't stand (& yes, your post was correct in what I meant by "Elitism", by the way :3 ), it's the hurt people cause other people so frequently on Gaia for no reason at all.
& it's just so needless & silly. I mean, everyone on Gaia is a "loser" or a "nerd" in one way or another, but the way people interact on this site so often reminds me of how the "popular blonde girls" pick on the "dorks" in some overly-dramatized "chick flick"... only the stuff people say to eachother on Gaia is far meaner.
