Well I learn alot of interesting things at this youth class in church and I thought I'd share some of the ones I remember mrgreen ... but I only remember two at the moment lol if I remember anymore or learn some new ones I'll post them up when I have time biggrin We have a very good teacher, you can't walk out of his class not learning something new or not understanding something because if you do it's because you didn't pay attention. Unfortuntaly he doesn't like to teach and he's only like 22 or 21 or something so he's young and doesn't like to do anything of that sort and says he would rather be one of the students so he will find ways to get out of teaching and make us play games or something gonk which I don't like but I can't do anything about it. Ok well let me tell you some of the interesting things I learned mrgreen Interesting thing #1:Everybody should know the story of Adam and Eve so I won't go over it all, I'll skip to the intersting part. When Adam and Eve were in the Garden there were 2 important trees, the Tree of Life and the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil.. Well when Eve was tricked into eating the apple from the tree of knowledge of good and evil by the serpant she also gave some to Adam and of course because they ate it, they became aware of many things and were know cursed to die and on top of that they sinned against God because he specifically told them not to eat from that one tree so I find it funny how Adam blamed God for what happened, notice he said The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat. Well when God found out that they ate of that tree, he gave them all a curse or two. To the serpant he cursed it to crawl on it's belly for however long it lives. To Eve he gave the curses of increased pain of child birth and the curse of being subject to her husband, in other words Adam will rule over her. To Adam he gave the curse of having to work the land and on top of that now the ground was cursed because of him and it will bring forth thorns and thistles and he will eats herbs. Now here's the interesting part, The Lord our God drove out Adam not Eve from the Garden however since God cursed Eve making her subject to her husband she had to follow Adam out of it and notice how God drove them out so Adam wouldn't eat from the tree of life, because if Adam ate from it, he would live forever. And there was also something about a prophesy but I can't remember the scripture he told us so I won't explain that one but the prophesy was what God told to the serpent And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.. Genesis Chapter 3Interesting thing #2Now the only reason I know this one was because our teacher had I think forgot 2 remind his sister it was her turn to teach the class(he got lazy and is making us all teach a class for a day but he still explains stuff mrgreen ) so he decided to give us the class he did for new years. The text I think was Isaiah 41:10-14 or something like that, I just know it was from Isaiah(I know shame I forgot and it was only last week xd ) Isaiah 41:10-1410 Fear not, for I am with you;
Be not dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you,
Yes, I will help you,
I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’
11 “ Behold, all those who were incensed against you
Shall be ashamed and disgraced;
They shall be as nothing,
And those who strive with you shall perish.
12 You shall seek them and not find them—
Those who contended with you.
Those who war against you
Shall be as nothing,
As a nonexistent thing.
13 For I, the LORD your God, will hold your right hand,
Saying to you, ‘Fear not, I will help you.’

Ok everyone should know there are 365 days in one year. Well apparently there are also 365 verses in the bible that say fear not or be not afraid or something similar to it so be not afraid 365 days a year people! For the Lord our God is with you! mrgreen

neisha1014 when eve ate that apple her 3rd eye was open n thats why god got angry No, the reason God got angry wasn't because of that, and if I understand your response (I think it's called a metaphore lol) right about her senses and stuff being opnened, I'm not sure if they has a conscience and it was awaken or if it was created after they ate the apple lol but the reason that God got mad was because both Adam and Eve sinned, and sin is disobeying God or rebellion against God(both pretty much the same). God doesn't like that and because he is a holy and just God he had to punish them because if he didn't then that would make him an unjust God and therefore he had to punish them. I don't think anyone on earth is righteous, everyone has broken the law and even if it's just one lie you are now a crimminal because you broke the law and no lost person has ever in their life kept the first commandment and is therefore sinning constantly and the bible says that even our righteousness is as filthy rags before God so we are therefore screwed cuz we have nothing to offer God now and are therefore damned. See but that's were the Gospel comes in, God is holy, God is just, and therefore he must punish sinners(those who rebel against him, which with out a doubt is the whole world) and that punishment is hell, which hell is the wrath of God but God is also love and therefore he sent his one and only begotten son into the world to live a righteous life for us and on that cross pay for our sins in full by taking the punishment which we rightfuly deserve(the wrath of almighty God) so we can walk away not guilty on judgement day and be labeled righteous because we are not but Jesus IS and he lived that righteous life for us biggrin so we are now justified and labled RIGHTEOUS! mrgreen and all we have to do is come to him by believing on the Lord Jesus Christ(faith) and repenting(turning from sin) and the evidence of you're salvation is not your profession of faith in Christ or that you repented and believed in him one day but that you will keep doing so until you die! smile

yall do realise that the KJV is an in- accurate translation...you should at least look at the NKJV. and before i take any heat...it wasnt just a re-written form of teh KJV, its a legitimate translation of the early texts. There have been many changes...and on the subject of a wife's submission to the husband...you are correct, to a degree. for in Ephesians 5:24-26 it says both, "Wives submit to your husbands...in all things." AND "Husbands love your wives as christ loved the church."
If you read the entire section you find that he compairs the marriage as to the relationship between the CHURCH and CHRIST. "as the church submits Christ...so should a wife submit to her husband." this is the same as we submit to god. we often sacrafice our own wants and desires for that of GOD and HIS calling. so should a wife do so for her husband.
HOWEVER, it says immediately afterwards. "Husbands LOVE your wives as CHRIST loved the church..." Christ loved the church so as to sacrafice his life for it. And as Christ said in John 15:13 "Greater love has no one then this: to lay down one's life for one's friends."
So if the greatest love of all is to die for someone, and husbands are called to love their wives as CHRIST loved the church, and christ died for the church...what does that mean about the relationship of a husband to his wife?
Personally, i believe that the submission is BOTH ways. Could the phrase "To lay down one's life," (and i am by no means trying to twist the verse, so please forgive this) also be said "to SUBMIT one's life"? while i understand that the verse was speaking of CHRIST's crusifixion for us, however i do believe that that could also be called an act of SUBMISSION, for he submit to the will of the FATHER and to OUR tourtures of the cross.
So if Christ SUBMIT himself FOR us, and really TO us (in both the sense WE torutured and kill him, and that he did it to save us) should it not also be said that husbands should SUBMIT in the same way?
In applicable terms, husbands should do everything they can to show love and mercy to their wives. SACRAFICING for them. and the wife sould SUBMIT to the husband. Both in his CARE (or your care for him) and his LOVE (or his care for you).
In reality, this would look like a cycle. the Wife doing everything she can to provide for and bring joy to the husband, and the husband doing everything he can to provide for and bring joy to the wife. the constant cycle of submission and accepting submission (in love) creats a relationship that stands the tests of time...lasting far longer then a few years or even a few decades...but entire lives.
this is how a husband and wife should treat eachother. the bible is not promoting CHAUVANISM (absolute male dominance over females) it is promoting love. and if you really read the bible. thats the ONLY thing it promotes.

Lustful Thinking What I've learned in church: People are ********* SHEEPLE. First of all, that was extremely rude.Second, if you don't like Christianity, don't bother coming to this sort of guild. Third, this is not the place to swear in. People don't appreciate it, and I definitely don't appreciate you trolling this guild like this. If you've had a bad experience with church, I'm sorry, because that church is not doing its job right, but that by NO MEANS gives you the right to harass christians you've never met before, or anyone, for that matter. If you want to rant and swear, swear at your bedroom wall, it doesn't have feelings that can be offended. Please don't post things like that here.
