If moderators want to delete this, then I completely understand why.
I am shocked by what I just learned. For the last four years, I have been talking to someone who lives in Japan. He is a Japanese person, with Japanese as his native language. I helped him with learning English, and he helped me with learning Japanese.
I just found out that his name is not what he told me. I have him on facebook, and it turns out that it is completely different - not written or read the way I initially was taught. Not only that, he doesn't live in Chiba city: he lives in the nearby prefecture of Ibaraki, in Toride city. He does do music, but used to be an actor.
I am a bit shocked because I've been talking to this person for four years, and yet he's been lying me for all this time... I do know he's Japanese. I have skyped him a few times, and once, for the first time in four years, I saw his face for a brief moment.
Thoughts?

Well, that happens. It is just the way of the world in general unfortunately. In every country in the world there are incredible lairs. There are good people in the world, it just seems like bad people are a little easier to find.
The important thing is to treat them with kindness and caution despite of everything. It will make them think about how they treat others. Also it makes you the bigger, better person. ^^; I hope that made sense.

I had the same thing happen to me a few years back. When I first came on the web, I used to frequent a message board (besides Gaia). I met a girl on there and we because pretty good Intenet friends....as she lived in Australia and I live in the US. Anyway, a few years back I found out that her name wasn't what she told me it was; she wasn't the girl in the picture I had, and she was a only child rather than having another sister. Apparently her mom forbid her revealing her identity online, so she came up with some story. I wasn't too shocked as I asked her if everything else besides those things she said was true was true, and I found out, it was. It was only her identity and not her personality that wasn't real.
It happens, but in my case....everything but some of her personal life items (like age, name, etc) was authentic. I'm still friends with her and have her on facebook.
