i dont really understand people tell me that its bad and if i keep cutting myself ill be a disgrace to every one but i dont see what the big deal is

Depends on who you ask.
I say: I've beed emo for at least 2 years, and almost everyone has said emo is bad, but their just jealous that they don't have the guts to cut themselves. They want to express their sadness, but they cant because their scared.
My psychaiatrist says: Cutting your self anywhere is dangerous to your health. If you even nick an artery or vein, you could bleed to death, not to mention the possibility of infection. You could end up in a hospital after one cut, and each one could be your last.

there is nothing wrong with being emo. its just most "normal" people or so they think, think its wrong or weird. they just dont under stand it. emo people, like us are more emotional then most hence why its called "emo". there is nothing wrong with it at all

ummmm there is nothing wrong with it at all but to get everyones story stright....emo is a style and cutting your self is just cutting....get it right or dont use the term.....just saying(:

I personaly don't see anything wrong with being emo but my counseler said that cutting is dangerous, risky, and I could accidently kill myself. He then gave me a stupid face when he said the "kill yourself part" and took away everything sharp I have. I miss my scissors... crying

i think there's no problem with feeling emo or being emo.i think about dying as a good thing for me sometimes, and i think cutting is a sad part of life, but it's your life.i don't want people to feel like me and want to die, but i can't help others.they can only make a difference in themselves by themselves.i just hope those people find another way to make themselves feel better in a "safe" way.but those are your bodies and your choices.people somewhere care about you. heart and i know how it feels to be hurt.

Alright for those unaware...
Cutting = Cutter
Emotional = Emo
Love of Death and Victorian Styles normally = Goth
Love of Bright Colors = Scene
Now you can say you are an EmoCutter, a GothicCutter, a SceneCutter.
Or even a Prep/JockCutter
Cutting DOES NOT make you Emo.
Emotional surges, normally likes to be alone or have small group of friends, gets hurt by love too easy and feels lost and incomplete without someone to love. IS EMO.
I am a Mix of Emo-Goth-ExCutter-and rarely Scene.
