Haze was born into a small but powerful tribe. Consisting mostly of males who were expert hunters and leaders, Haze became obsessed with changing himself to fit the persona of a "hero." He lived a life without the comfort from his mother and was raised in a life without many pleasantries that come with having a caretaker. Haze ended up growing into an isolated life and met North, his glowbug, during his childhood.

Haze has a very strong personality and is always trying to prove how brave and strong he is. He can come off as arrogant but he's sensible and responsible. He honestly tries to do the proper thing and isn't afraid to ask for guidance from others if he really needs it. He has humility but would rather not show it.

After facing the death of his mate, Cora, to the hand of a Di'Taki, Soft Wind became saddened and removed himself mentally from his tribe. His sleeping patterns became skewed and one day he went to lake Ha'Tama to kill himself only to meet and eventually fall in love with his next mate, Acere, who is unexpectedly a Di'Taki. Now he travels at the dead of night at planned meetings to meet her.
