A place where everyone with free will. Can come to rest and relax at this family park. The sounds of laughter fill the air, as children run around and play. The sounds of love can be not only heard but seen as well, as couples walk hand in hand. And gather for family get togethers. This is a neutral ground for all sorts of people to mingle at. And relax, watching the world pass them by, slowly.

A gravel path lead towards several marble tables of older and young men playing chess. Walking past the tables, an man dressed in a trench coat and Sunday afternoon hat, approached the chess area. In the man's hand was a cello case. Walking off not too far off, to a bricked patio area near the park's water way. The man set up a fold out chair, removed his coat and hat, where as he also removed his cello from his case.

Testing the strings for fine tuning. He took a seat, along with a breath, placing his bow against the strings of his cello as he began to play, Bach - Cello Suite No. 1 - Prelude

The man was using the voice of his instrument to play the notes of his feelings from his heart and soul. Sharing with the world surrounding him out in the park. This man was known as Magneto, the enemy of the X-Men. And to those at the park, he was just known as a musician, a man who loves his music.

Domino had been out in the town that afternoon. Stepping out of a cab, she decided to go for a walk. To help clear some thoughts. After paying her tab, she heard the most beautiful music flowing through central park. The music was very hypnotic, almost errie in a sense. Sad, yet full of life. Walking down the pathway to where a crowd of people had gathered to listen to the performance of this musician.

Dom's jaw dropped when she came to realize who it was playing. Unbeknownst the man himself. Magneto. Playing the cello. What was his reasoning for being here? Did she manage to walk into a trap? Was it mere coincidence that of all people here in Central Park. She managed to stumble upon Magneto? Amongst the hundreds and thousands of people, walking in this place daily. She came upon an older man, a sworn enemy, playing a beautiful, musical instrument.

Domino backed up away from the crowd, where she picked up her cell phone and made a call, to the X-Force members.

User Image"I forgot you liked to play."

Leaves in the trees along the path rustled as two bare feet made their appearance on a thick branch. Then a pair of feminine hands, and before many moments had elapsed, Cal lay on the sturdy branch, looking for all the world like the Cheshire Cat. Her eyes were magnified the green eyes, her legs swinging gently over her head like a tail. She leaned down with her chin on her crossed hands and watched Erik for a moment. He'd come to mean so much to her since her return to the US; if she was to be completely honest with herself, he was one of the few friends she'd made since her return and one of only two she could talk too. She hadn't seen Rogue in forever, now that it occurred to her.

She hummed for a moment before sitting up and climbing down the tree. She stepped into her sandals and picked up her messenger bag, both of which sat at the base of the arboreal giant. "I don't suppose you're feeling any better, are you?" she asked as she lowered herself into the grass that ran between the patio and the stream. Cal hated that it sounded like an illness and not the death of a child, but she hadn't been very dictatorial of late. She wanted to offer comfort but couldn't, her usual assurances falling on ears that didn't believe her words.

The man was convinced God had forsaken him, while Cal was sure He had not. There was just no way to convince a Holocaust survivor of that. She brushed her black and red dress over her Spanx and sat watching the water as the breeze played with the red stripe in her hair.

Cora Hellsing
"I forgot you liked to play."

Erik Lehnsherr had gone into another song by Bach. Hearing a familiar voice, he did not stop right away. He wanted to finish the piece. When he finally came to a stopping point, the light applause he received, Erik gave the crowd a bowing of his head in thanks. Setting his bow down into his case, and setting the cello down along its side. He was going to take a break from playing even if it was just for a moment.

Picking up a bottle of water, he took a drink, just listening to nature in general surrounding them. The conversations of people walking by became distant. Releasing a breath he finally spoke up while looking straight ahead. Noticing a particular woman across the way, who appeared to have a black eye. "Am I feeling any better? Hmm... let me think about that, Cal." He turned in his chair to where she was seated, speaking in a calm voice, "No."

There was a smile there but it was not a friendly one, although, friendly enough for her. Leaning back in his chair, he closed his eyes taking in everything by hearing. "I don't think... anything will ever be the same." His long white hair tossed up in the breeze, brushing against his face. He opened up his eyes once again, taking a look at the scenery before the two of them. "So... what ails you, Cal?" Erik was being civil, it had been an extremely long time since he had been in public. Let alone, at a place where there was an audience. Whether they listened or not, was their choice.

User ImageCal winced at the venom in his tone. "I know," she said quietly. "It's a stupid question. There's just no tactful way to ask it." She fidgeted slightly with the straps of her dress before turning to look at him. "What ails me?" she repeated, taking in his care-worn eyes. Her head shook side to side rapidly. "I'm not the one to be concerned for."

Her heart rose into her throat as she looked at him. She was at a complete loss as to what to say or do, and that rarely happened to her. It was like losing Nadia and the rest of the Zodiac all over again. It got hard to breathe as the lump in her throat swelled, and she looked away so he couldn't see the pain she'd let fester into her mental illness. "It sounds cliche and overused, but I really do know how you feel. I came back to the States because a member of my team died in a fire. With only six girls in a huge mansion, we got really close. Nadia... Nadia was like a sister to us. So, I understand the pain you're dealing with, even though you don't believe me."

She reached for her messenger bag and removed a blue book from the neatly organized sketchbooks, notebooks, and information on various subjects. The cover was plain, sporting no lettering or symbol of any kind. Cal laid her hand - still raw and in bandages - atop it and closed her eyes. She knew better than say it aloud, so she thought the prayer instead. "I tell you the truth, you will weep and mourn while the world rejoices. You will grieve, but your grief will turn to joy," she prayed. "Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted."

She opened her eyes and turned back to him. "Erik, I want to tell you something."

[That's my standard prayer for those around me who lose someone. Myself included.]

Zephyr smiled, walking through the park. She had decided today to go out and explore, and wound up in such a wonderful place. The trees up above danced on the breeze, the sound of the water could be heard, and birds calling. She didn't really care too much for the people, but at least they were all in a good mood. She walked around curiously, actually waving with a smile and saying hello to people, peaking curiously at the chess boards and games in progress. A few of the playing gentleman smiled at her, and she was simply happy that they weren't ignoring her completely, as grown ups so often times did.

The park also had many street performers, usually, and she loved to visit them all. They reminded her somehow of her childhood, her true childhood, since the child of nine had already had to be grown up for the last few years. But in her true childhood, she remembered her parents often times taking her to such things, and often other times working such events, performing music or dancing for the crowd, or just selling the things they had made.

She saw then, a man with a cello. She loved music! He wasn't playing at the moment, but seemed to be talking with someone else. But she didn't mind, coming over and taking a seat right in front of him, crossing her legs and looking up to wait for him to begin again. Unlike the people who stayed for one song or stopped for a moment before going on their ways, she would often times stop and listen to at least three songs before moving on to something else. Unless they were playing something she didn't know but very much liked, like something folk-like or blue-grass style, since that was what she heard a lot as a child. Then she could stay and listen for hours. She waited patiently for a moment to speak, hoping she wasn't interrupting, and when it seemed there was a long enough pause she spoke up.

"Pardon me, I hope I'm not interrupting, I was just wondering if you were going to play another song. I hope I haven't missed your performance entirely..." she asked. She hated so much when she missed something.

Erik scoffed as he drank the rest of his bottle of water. Setting it down he picked up his cello again, plucking the strings as he tuned it for the next song. He wasn't ignoring her, he was actually listening to Cal.

Picking up his bow, he strummed a few strings, while listening to the cello briefly. He did ignore her for a moment while tuning. Otherwise he was watching Cal's every actions.

She opened her eyes and turned back to him. "Erik, I want to tell you something."

"What is it?" His tone was flat, even though his cello was speaking in far better tones than he was currently. He became distracted hearing another voice approach them.

Erik's features shifted as he smiled for the young child, bowing his head, "I am going to be performing many pieces. Stay as long as you like.. there is no charge to hear the beautiful songs of life from a wondrous instrument."

Erik smiled as he inhaled and began performing the next piece. You could almost hear the full orchestra playing in the background, as he was the lead cello player for this piece.

Vilvaldi - Double Cello Concerto in G Minor RV531 - Mov. 1/3

As Erik finished that piece, he went back to Bach. Not once missing a note, not once missing a pitch. All of the songs he was playing was from memory. No sheet music present for anyone to take a gander at.

Bach - Cello Suite No. 2v-Menuet

He really wanted to move to the piano that they had out there as well. Just to flex not only the muscles in his fingers and hands. But as well as his magnetic personality. Using his powers for something other than what he's used to performing with.

Bach - Cello Suite No. 3 v-Bourree

Magneto definitely felt at peace when he played music. It mattered not if it was done on the cello, the piano or organ. He always felt better about himself. The music helped lower the stress levels flowing throughout his body as well as lowering his blood pressure. When he had an audience to listen to his music, it helped him even more. Even though he'd never really admit it.

Emma found Domino in central park listening to music. She had to do a double take on whom was playing, as she walked up behind Domino, "This is right up your alley is it not, darling?" Emma had heard Domino playing the piano the other night, in the atrium. She just never was given an opportunity to tell her that. "You played well, the other night at the mansion, darling. I think it's been a very long time since anyone has played at the mansion."

"I do believe, that is what we need... music to help ring in the new year."
Emma laughed quietly, as she stood there and listened to the old man play. "You know... I never thought I'd say this. Erik Lehnsherr really plays well. Who'd thought, a man filled with such rage, anger and violence. Has portal-led some of this negative energy into something beautiful."

"The man definitely captured my attention, darling. Don't you agree? To an extent?"

User ImageCal shook her head suddenly and put her book away. What was she thinking? It was obvious that at the moment he wanted to be alone with his music and the people who enjoyed it. Tears burned her eyes, and she let her hair fall from behind her ears to curtain her face. The tears rippled down her cheeks and dripped off her chin as she repacked her bag. The zipper hissed across its track as she quickly wiped the tears from her face, drying her face and removing the traces with ease.

She rose, dusting the grass and dirt from her legs. Her dress flicked around her knees as she moved, an alien garment for a farm girl. It hugged her curves but in a way that was classy. Cal hoisted the bag off the ground and turned to look at her friend again. She couldn't tell him. She had the absolutely worst timing.

"Later," she said. "I'll tell you later." Cal paused as she drew level with him and, impulse guiding her actions, she leaned down and kissed his temple. "I just want to see you smile again." She tucked her hair back behind her ear and walked off toward the chess tables. Her heeled sandals clicked along the path as she tried not to break into a run and escape.

Jzen was writing down some things on scroll paper. When a breeze caught up on her paperwork, tossing it up into to the air. "DraT!" Getting up to her feet, she was catching all of the paper work she could, accidentally bumping into another girl in the process.

"Oh! Excuse me! Pardon me!" Trying to make sure that the other girl did not collapse or get hurt in the process of their collision.

User ImageWith her usual lack of grace, Cal landed on her butt on the stones. To her credit, she managed to keep herself from revealing anything under her skirt as she fell. She curled up her legs and rolled slightly onto her knees, searching for the things that had spilled out of her bag. "It's no problem," she told the girl, snatching her phone and several pens from the pavement. "I'm used to it."

She wrinkled her nose and picked up the battery to her phone. The more she abused her Env3, the more she loved it. It was the only thing that had managed to keep up with her so far. She fixed the thing and put it away before checking herself for injury. Nothing besides a few bruises, a scraped knee, and a heart that was about to explode.

Hope strolled through the park, intrigued by the moving music. With the hood of her sweatshirt pulled up to cover her brilliant red hair, she continued down the path pretending to be someone else. TECHNICALLY she wasn't supposed to leave the mansion due to all of the mutant hating groups and other people who are looking to have the "Mutant Messiah" killed. Since no MRD devices as well as Cerebro (from the comics) could pick up on her mutant signature, she figured as long as she stayed semi-incogneto, she'd be safe. Oh, and carry a slick 9mm at her side... "Never bring a knife to a gun fight"

As she approached the white haired man with the cello, she noticed two women bump into each other. One of the girl's papers went flying and the wind blew a few to Hope's feet. Carefully gathering them up, she walked over to the one who dropped them and handed them back. "I hope you got them all."

Jzen saw the injuries she had inflicted upon the girl, as she reached out and touched the other girl's hand. Her eyes started to glow bright red, as her aura surrounded not only herself but the girl on the ground as well.

Healing the bruises and scraped knee from the collision. She did not allow the girl to protest about the help. The instant energy transfer lasted only a few seconds since they were minor. As the other girl stopped glowing, the aura returned to Jzen where the injuries immediately were placed along her body. She did not wince as she saw the injuries form along her body only to vanish within seconds. The only thing Jzen could not heal was the broken heart.

An innocent apologetic expression was painted across Jzen's face, as she held out her hand for the other girl to take. "I do still apologize. I am sorry if I may have startled thee, miss." Jzen was going to help the girl up. Smiling sweetly towards the girl. She meant well.
