For some people Umbra is just a sword that you have to get through a quest. But you can get it without having to quest and this is how. South of the Imperial City some Ayleid Ruins called Vindasel. Inside is a female Bosmer wielding Umbra. Umbra has a soultrap ability for 120 seconds. The attack depends on your blade skill. When you start to go through you will notice that all you have to kill (besides Umbra) is rats and mudcrabs. Though you will have to look out for the death traps hidden within the floors. When you get to Umbra talk to her if you wish then start attacking her.(It is best to have your difficulty all the way down if you just started the game) When you kill her loot her to get Umbra and full ebony armor called Umbra's Ebony Armor ( Umbra's Ebony Armor consists of Umbra's Ebony Shield, Umbra's Ebony Boots, Umbra's Ebony Cuirass, Umbra's Ebony Gauntlets, Umbra's Ebony Greaves, and Umbra's Ebony Helmet) and now you have Umbra at a earlier state.
