Eternal Wars Combat System

Victory will be determined by victory points that are gained by rpc's winning certain encounters on the battlefield, theses encounters will be known as the battlegrounds and for each battle the battlegrounds will be unique. Depending on the importance of the battleground it will be worth a certain number of points, when a faction wins that battleground, they win the victory points that go with it, if one side holds all battlegounds for a certain amount of time, it equals an automatic overwhelming victory. Each side can send as many people as they want to a certain battleground, however for the intial lineups, the overall commanders will send PM's to a mod so that way each side doesnt know whos going where first, afterwords commands can be issued on the fly by officers if they believe a change is needed, it will take a certain number of post to go between battlegrounds, and it is possible that forces may intersect while moveing from one to the other, resulting in a battle there. After a set time period the battle will come to an end and the victory points will be added up, the side the possess the most win, how well the victory was is determined by the number of victory points. Each side will start out with a set number of bonus victory points, based on the number and exprience of the men in the army, and any technological advancement. Air power can come into play with the ability to call in air strikes, also if one side obtains air superiorty that side can transport their men from one battleground to the other instantly and without having to go inbetween battlegrounds. The battle for air superiorty will take place in the orbit around the planet. Fleet Battles will operate in a simular manner, having certain battlegrounds that the players can affect. Ship to Ship combat will be carried out the Ship Captains, I will work on a system for Ship to Ship combat, also fighter vs fighter and Armor vs Armor battles will be carried out as any normal RP battle would. Once one side obtains Space and Air Superiorty, they can call in Airstrkes and Orbital Bombardments. Theses will work to the effect of negateing the foe's bonus victory points, as they have a tendency to kill large amounts of men, and destory of instruments of war. This is the roughest draft of anything I've created, but I think it is a good system that might be able to work for the guild. Questions and comments are welcome and encourged.

Sorry to be “that girl”, but there are women in the armies, too, Mal, and you only mentioned men. I call you out for sexism. (Myself and Misa being two examples of women in the armies.) Other than that, it looks good smile

I say FALSE! Because I am CLEARLY more awesome than everyone in this guild put together into one giant meatpuppet. So my review actually counts as like… 12 people’s opinions.
On a more literal note: why don’t you send out an announcement saying that the battle system is up and needs feedback?
That’s what I do with my guild, and it seems to work.

It makes sense, and I like that you take in account the orbital and ship-to-ship battles! I can't wait to see a final draft of this!

One question I do have, are we going to use the dice-roll system to determine who wins the encounters?

ok about the air battle when i looked at the auto ranks i only saw one pilot is that the only pilot im allowed to have or can i have pilots under that pilot

That's the Ace of the Dawn and the thing about that is he is basically the leader of the pilots in the beginning, and has the most exprience, you can have as many pilots as you want, they will all be rookies, but he is their leader, catch my drift?

Definitely need to flesh it out a bit more and work out solid mechanics, but looks good all in all
