How far does it go? The trailers made it only look like it was Book 1.

They WERE going to call it Avatar: The Last Airbender, but since James Cameron was doing HIS 'Avatar' movie, they just made it THe Last Airbender...which is still good in my mind.
And since when do people listen to critics? I liked the show, so I went and saw it anyways.
And yes, the movie deals with Book One: Water. smile
I saw the movie, and I said my peace on Yahoo!. I LOVED the movie, regardless of what everyone else thought about it. Critics can kiss my behind on that one.

Yeah, I was wondering if anyone has actually seen it and I want their opinion on it before bothering to see it myself.

Meh... it's one person's point of view against many.
Though a lot of people said they liked Avatar and all I saw was a more scifi-ish version of Pocahontas with blue kitty people... THOUGH THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH BLUE KITTY PEOPLE. I just didn't like it.
Still, I'd rather not waste money.

Airbender looks good, but Avatar looked boring... No, never saw it. I'll get around to it if someone else buys it, but until then, it can wait till it costs $5...

I was gonna see about Seeing Airbender sometime in the next few weeks, I just wish they didn't put it out when Twilight came out.
I have no desire to see Avatar due to the publicity surrounding it and the fact that it just doesn't interest me.

I saw a few minutes of Avatar when they were playing it in the local store's electronic section.
It looked cool, but not OMG DA BEST MOOVEE EVAR.
Not enough to spend $20 on a DVD.

Dances with Wolves, in space, crossed with Pocahontas, and the sad b*****d love child of Smurfette and the evil wizard's cat from the same show...
I'll get it when it's used for $5 at Game Stop...

What's with all the hating on Avatar guys? Most of you haven't even seen it yet. Granted, the plot isn't 100% original, but what is these days? In retrospect, I can see all kinds of plot holes and stereotypes in it, but I still enjoyed it.
Just because a film doesn't have a totally original plot doesn't automatically make it a bad movie. I was very skeptical about the new War of the Worlds film with Tom Cruise in it because for a long time, I've been a fan of Jeff Wayne's The War of The Worlds, which sticks to the book more accurately than any film versions out there. But when I did finally see it, I was pleasantly surprised - despite the annoying screaming child.
At the end of the day, you just have to get used to the fact that film makers these days don't really have much imagination at all. As far as I can remember, the last things to come out that were truly original were films like the Dark Crystal, and the original versions of Tron and Star Wars. Even here, you will find basic stereotypes and story concepts that recur throughout.
By the way, why are we talking about films in a LoK guild? They're not even vampire films. confused
