I've looked at this guild a few times and finally decided to make a post. Right now I am going through a couple of hardships. My dad is in jail right now, for battery charges and violation of his parole. He had been in previously for stabbing my mom three times. He had pulled lots of stunts before this, when I was very little. He stabbed her when I was 7, and she is still alive today with no lasting injuries. I thank God for that. She is married to my stepfather today, and he is very kind. My dad has been in and out of jail multiple times, just in my lifetime. He was involved with crystal meth before, and other violence charges. Right now, I am living with my father's parents. They have always been kind to step in and give me a place to live. My grandfather does have anger issues though and has gotten physical with me before. My mother also has anger issues, but will not get violent. My dad gets out of jail on June 15th. I don't know whether I should live with my mom in Mississippi or my grandparents in Louisiana. One of the only things that has allowed me to keep my religion as a Christian is realizing how many times I or another family member could have been killed. I thank him for that and usually pray every day. My mother is not a Christian, as far as I'm convinced. I do consider myself a Christian, because I am pretty sure I accept Jesus Christ as my savior. I guess I will know when I do.
My main issue now is where I will live. My dad might be living 2 hours away when he gets out, and that's great. I want to live with my mom, but she has pretty bad anger issues and is very hard to deal with at times. I have almost all of my life at my grandparent's house on the other hand. They are nice, but get mad at times. I fear my dad will screw up again. I really do hope with all my heart he's changed, but I don't know for sure. He's made so many false promises in the past.
Please pray for me that I make the right decision and my dad stays on the right track this time.
Thank you. smile

i will pray for you!! for sure. my dad can be...a mess sometimes, but i know he's really trying to stop his habit for me and my sis. he's hurt us many times in the past, but right now he seems to do better. GOD does wonderful things, and can let people see a different point of view, and i will be praying for u and my dad to keep them both on track. smile

Well, your prayers worked guys! It's 10 days until he gets out, and he'll be promoted to manager of an outdoors shop as soon as he gets out. He'll have a little townhouse about 2 hours from where I am. My stepdad met him today, brief, but it was nice. They are both musicians, so they might even play together. My mom was glad to see my dad again, and they are getting along. Thanks for all your prayers guys. biggrin I have full confidence in him now.
