In the Twilight "Saga" forum, a lot of it I see is just... hate. Brainless, anger-producing hate. It's a bad series, yeah... I'll give that Meyer really screwed up, but really... What happened to thoughtful discussion? Something that wasn't just "TWILIGHT IS GAY!!" or "EDWARD AND JACOB ARE MARRYING!!"

I won't say anything to demean the Twilight fanbase, but I will say that in certain parts of a community, there will be those people that are fuelled only by hate, hate for a particular series or something in the series. These are the types of people that are never satisfied, and in turn, leads to arguements, more hate, and violence. It all depends on how the situation is addressed.

Crystal, that's a good quote and a good point. Forgive even to your enemies, they know not what they do. And 'sides, these people aren't our 'enemies'. They're people with a different opinion. Arguing and trolling over some stupid-a** book is ruining the environment for fans who actually wish to discuss it.

Definitely not the right way to address a topic, especially if we wish to discuss it with people who have a different opinion.
I think in this situation the key is *respect* on both sides even though it might be difficult to maintain especially if you are facing rabid fans/ antis. When I read through the things people write in the forums I often feel like reminding them that everything you leave online will stay there for a long time and might haunt you later on. People should be much more careful with the things they write, especially if they do it in rage. stare

I see these dumbasses all the time, and for everything, not just Twilight... it's stupid, gay, anyone involved should die in a horrible fire and then get acid thrown on their smoking corpses, an acidic, smoking pile which will then be pissed upon... it really is ridiculous, hard hate, and most likely by noobs or just some angry little teen.

I mean, Twilight is terrible, and I do dislike it very much, but I just don't go searching for Twilight threads to spam with messages about how it makes me want to PUKE AND DIE.
